This helped sooo much! I'm 15 & I've been natural for 5 months now & my hair is 3.5 inches & I've been using Kinky Curly since I cut my hair. But instead of the Curling Custard, I used Ecostyler (Olive Oil). I kinda like it, but it leaves my hair crunchy & a lot of times I have residue in the front from the leave in conditioner. I'm going to go get the curling custard TOMORROW! Thanks sooo much!

How do you avoid getting clumps or stiff sections? I went to a new hairdresser a few days ago and after a while certain parts of my hair were hard from the gel. Granted, I am transitioning so some sections are straight (had it pinned back), but I still found that certain areas had clumps. Any advice?

Your hair looks amazing! When I 1st started using Curly Custard, I was so unimpressed.It had a gooey residue that I just didn't like. I was going to kick it to the curb but hadn't finished the container & wanted to get my full $'s worth since I paid so much for it. Well, after the 2nd wk or so I started noticing a difference. My curls were more defined than ever and my hair was well moisturized. I ended up buying another container when I finished the last one. It's a great product.

wow! your hair is absolutely beautiful. i have tried the kinky curly on my 4inch fro' and i did get great results. it lasted about 3 to 4 days with shine, without any flakes. the knot today works well for refreshing the curls on day two and onwards. you said you did not use much product but i found that i had to use alot to get my results. must try it again with less.

i have a short afro. everytime i put in a leave in conditioner, i seem to have excess left that shows in my hair. how much should i put in my hair of the leave in knot today? the same question for the curling custard. is the curling custard a gel?

@flatlanderdot so far I haven't found a way to change it, but I no longer want to keep using the leave in conditioner. The leave-in I use(d) is from Mixed Chicks. My fro has grown since this past comment and I still have the same problem. I know I wash out all the deep conditioner, but I was told that there is still some product left in my hair to cause that residue in my hair. now, I stopped using the leave in and just finish washing with the deep conditioner and call it a day! lol!

I thought the same as you when I first used the product but yes it is a great product I love it. It works wonders with the other kinky curly products It has a slight residue after a few days but no flakiness like the gel set.

he ingredient in the knot today I think you speak of is Behentrimonium Methosulfate. It's actually not a sulfate it is the scientific name for rapeseed oil. This ingredient is known for it's renowned superior detangling ability. I actually look for it in all my conditioner. You may also see it's cheaper version of it known as behentrimonium chloride. I also saw that and had to look it up only because I love this product and didn't want to stop using it w/o the right info . So hope that helps.

i just got the kccc and kt and I love them both! its gives you great control over how you want your hair, if you don't want a lot of hold them use near to no kccc and if you want more do the opposite! I'm not gona try and replace the kt with anything even though its expensive, if i stick to these products then i will actually save money! i love your hair here btw I just keep coming back to this video!! lol

@shevonsdot I don't think you should use this on permed hair that's slightly curly... You may get some straight spots because this product is very heavy.. It doesn't make your hair more curly, it defines what you have already... I say use light weight products for now... Maybe the Knot Today alone would be good enough :-) But not the Custard
