at present...there are pygmy elephant in Borneo , especially in the east coast of Sabah...so far it comes to my knowledge that Osa and Martin only landed in Sandakan (part of Borneo) .
There were Pigmy Elephants in Malaya,I saw them during the 1960's,but I never heard of them in Sarawak(Borneo).However,this footage appears to be of Central Kalimantan during the 1920's,where Pigmy Elephants would be quite possible
Before you make up story you better read/brows all related things carefully. You better peruse all about wallace line completely. UNTIL NOW THERE IS NO ELEPHANTS IN BORNEO!!!! DO NOT HURT OTHERS' FEELINGS BY MAKING UP BULLSHIT STORY ABOUT OTHER COUNTRY.
@soeasyone the Pigmy Elephants were in north part of Borneo(Sabah,Serawak and The Heart of Borneo),and about the wallace line,it separated of Borneo and Celebes, I come from West Kalimantan, salam
these peoples are not dayak. this is in sabah, west borneo. dayak are mainly in the south. one clue that this is in sabah is that the elephants and dayak people do not make such lobes in their nose.
haha..who said dayak people is a tall tribe..dats really not true..most of them barely reach 5,.4'...its true.just go to the jungle for urself...there no way dayak people going to reach 6'..totally a urban legend..or rather jungle legend
Wow this is real outstanding footage considering the technology then. That stuff they are smoking looks intriguing. I wonder what it is and how it makes them smile ;) What ever happened to Ramar of the Jungle?
well the people of Papua are typically short, with short, black hair like Africans ... where as the Dayak have been said to be very tall ... They're also a very hygienal group of tribes ~ who actually, when meeting a white man, said that he seemed well-equiped, but doesn't bathe as often as he should ... I've been to Papua & throughout Indo ~ & hopefully next year I'll get to Borneo ... My pleasure!
Very interesting, I lived in Indonesia for a year (East Java) but I heard amazing stories about the Dayak's of Borneo. I never got to go to Borneo either but hopefully some day I will. Most Indonesians I met were around 5'5'', 5'8'' tops. But I've heard that some Dayaks reached heights up to 6'2''. I appreciate the reply.
haha i can imagine that they were appalled at the white mans hygiene, when i moved from barbados in the caribbean to england i was appalled as well lol, plus in the tropics a change of clothing is needed every day at the minimum because you sweat doing evry day activities, i find it hard to believe that the explorers had clothes for evry day of the week, its more hygenic to be bare back, as the natives are
Watch RENOWNED HEAD HUNTERS OF BORNEO in my account's My Videos section. It contains great footage of the Iban tribe of Borneo and their exotic rituals. It is from TWILIGHT OF THE LONGHOUSE, a documentary directed and written by Ike Ong and produced by Zain Azrai.

@MrAngelofthedeep
Sabah is in North Borneo. The video is mainly projecting an image of old Sarawak or possibly Kalimantan.
