  • @DARRINCONNOR1

Tony Visconti produced the Bad Reputation (1977) and Black Rose (1979) Thin Lizzy studio albums, plus their live 1978 record Live & Dangerous. Their best sounding records for sure. Visconti basically created the T-Rex sound in the early 70s and then produced some of Bowie's mid 70's records. He features in the excellent BBC Thin Lizzy documentary on YT.

  • @ziksee Yea, yea! No one is saying BD is the greatest! Ok, we all love Peart and Bonzo, but I am saying the drumming on this song and many others of theirs is pure R'n R and some of it's best! Go ahead -I dare you to write what the best Bonzo/Zep song is! And please dont write "Moby Dick!"

    Btw Idgaf you hypocritical loser.

  • @Zoso709 sorry im not mind-reader... pls dont hurt me :))

  • @scienceisgod1 - thats one of the killer things about this tune, they all get lil solo slots and it doesnt detract from it being non-cliche :-)

  • I think Danko Jones gets a lot of inspiration from T.L! This rocks ;)

  • my reaction to this is-o my god i wish i had a comment worth posting taht celebrates this thin lizzy song and thn lizzy alltogether

  • I photographed THin Lizzy in 1977 when they opened for Queen in Canada. To see the shots go to 70srockphotos (.com)

  • wicked guitar break

  • totally bad ass song this one play it full blast it's the only way to listen to it Thin Lizzy rule and so does Philip Lynott R.I.P and R.I.P to Gary Moore you both did well and should be proud godbless your souls.

  • Brian Downey Excel Drummer ,Humble Pie .

  • Who's the guitarist with the Fender Stratocaster? Is it Gary Moore? ;)

  • @MeetyHam

it's Brian Robertson who later showed up in Motorhead replacing Fast Eddie,He was also in Wild Horses

  • @thevbat

Lemmy fucking hates Brian Robertson, he wore pink ballet slippers and refused to play Ace Of Spades.

    Lammy calls him "a cunt".

  • Their drummer's pretty good

  • When it comes to the word "underrated" it gets said about a lot of bands, and in most cases it's true. But THIN LIZZY WERE CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED. They had one of the best singer/songwriters rock ever had. Phil Lynott's voice is just ... he kicked ass! And the talent that was in the band throughout its career ... in the dictionary underrated should have as its definition - UNDERRATED :past participle, past tense of un·der·rate

    Verb: phil lynott. thin lizzy.

  • phil, how we wish you took your own advice and turned yourself around... such an amazing talent.

  • coooooooooooooooooooooooooooL !

  • Isso é que é som!

  • kako je ovaj covjek sexy majko moja:PPP

  • @captainfroghammer- You will not find one bad song from these guys. They dabled in just about every style but stayed blues based.

  • We know they're underrated but no one comes here to listen to overrated bands!

Underrated is the way to go!

  • Fucking amazing solo from Gorham, probably my fav solo from Thin Lizzy.

  • I like the drums on this one but the song is not paced like it should.

  • Im new to Thin Lizzy, this song was sweet, going to have to check out a bunch more.

  • @captainfroghammer Was? Still is sweet...

  • Happy Birthday dude! Off to the Clarence Sligo to see your 25 year anniversary Tribute!

  • Happy B-day Philo...Miss you...

  • Real classic rock! Even Black vocals of Lynott is awesome here.

  • To quote Alan Partridge: "Mmmmmm, a nice big thick slice... Of Thin Lizzy!"

  • Great tune

  • ABBA's in the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame, and these guys aren't, WTF?!??

  • @nowitsabadtime yeh fucken JOKE!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Awesome? Yes! and it would be even more awesome if it hadn't been faded out before the drum solo.

  • Those drums!!!!! Awesome!

  • on of the best videos ever

  • Damn! I need a Thin Lizzy shirt! ( i have all their music, and yet no shirt!)

  • I had the honor of seeing them live back in 1979 and they were even better live...rip Phil you will not be forgotten!

  • wow 2 bands !!!

  • @1jackiea

You are obviously a moron or else just intentionally trying to cause some kind of argument. On a per capita basis I can almost guarantee Americans listened to more British bands than American bands over the last 50 years. The so-called "british invasion", all the prog bands, the "second british invasion", as well as the heavily estrogen infused rock put out these days all serve as example

Not sure why you have to make shit up to fit your world view. But ok. I'd rather stick to facts

  • @freboi well said and he is from oz

  • @pinfolder so i'm from OZ ?what are you trying to say ?look in the US biilboard chart in that era it was eagles, fleetwood mac, billy joel the boss, van halem , kiss, lionel ritchie ,supertramp e.l.o.frampton go on and on SO many U .K. says it was really hard to crack the U.S. market. as for OZ bands 1 INXS whoopi!!.

  • @1jackiea Well Fleetwood Mac, ELO and Supertramp were English

  • @pinfolder sorry guys, haven't got time to argue ,gone to watch Summer Slam.PEACE !!

  • @1jackiea what about ACDC and Crowded house

  • Was Thin Lizzy influenced by The Jimi Hendrix Experience? Because not only do they LOOK like them, but more importantly they have the kind of groove that Jimi would have, and Bad Reputation has some similar drum beats to those of Mitch. I'm not comparing their awesomeness, because they are equally awesome, I'm just saying that they share some similar tones and grooves. Anyone agree?

  • now i like springsteen .....but lynott is easily the equal {better imho } yet -bruce is heralded as the boss ....this was too intense for the yanks -maybe thats why .

  • @TheMichaelseymour yanks always love yankies bands ,should have broaden their horizon more.there are heaps of great U.K. bands around then and now !

  • scott gorham= tai chi master.

  • q chimba de bateria se da garra!!!

  • mouhahahaha XD en mode hippie

  • this song is just fuking imba

  • Kick Ass!

  • Damn, this song rocks! Heavy as hell.

  • Bad Ass. No two ways about it.

  • Brian Downey,what a wizard on drums.

  • What a GREAT JAM!

  • i used to play this all the time in guitar hero 2! i love this song!

  • love the drums in bad reputation ,wich I consider one of the best ten songs by Thin Lizzy

  • i know you were not 100% right so don't put me down mate!!!ROCK ON !! I knew Scott was from Glendale California ,U.S.A. born March 17 1951 anyway Stevie Nicks sounds americian to me !!!Doobies Bros were too.

  • @SloDreamReality I'm from a small town, and I don't think they play much Lizzy on the radio, other than maybe "Boys Are Back In Town" - which, don't get me wrong, is a good song, but the band had so many others (like this one, for instance). And all my radio stations play as far as classic rock is the Police, Springsteen, Frampton and Zeppelin - not that those are bad choices, but there's no Lizzy in that lineup. So I never got to hear them until, as I said, three or four years ago.

  • @dudestr5552 yeh i still don;t believe they are all british stevie nicks sounds americian also glen frey, anyway the best advice for Thin Lizzy tracks buy LIVE AND DANGEROUS C. D. ,you won;t regret it .some more great tracks are Dedication , With Love, Romeo and the lonely girl ,Chinatown, Warrior, (the ultimate)Emerald.Spelling O. K. ?

  • @1jackiea Got their entire 70s discography, including live albums. And Glenn Frey was American, Stevie Nicks may have been too, but Scott Gorham was American and was part of an Irish band... why couldn't Stevie Nicks be American and be part of a British band? Plus, she wasn't the only vocalist for Fleetwood Mac.

  • @SloDreamReality Up until very recently (within the last three or four years or so), I'd never even heard of Thin Lizzy, or anything by them, and most people I've talked to who were alive during their heyday can only name maybe one song by them. As I said, they were underrated in the States. Perhaps in the UK and Ireland they're more appreciated, the way they should be, but not here.

  • @dudestr5552 yeh mainly cause you listen to yanky bands at that era Fleetwood Mac E.L.O. Doobies Bros ,Eagles ,Peter Frampton, etc ,should of expand your horizon.

  • @1jackiea ELO, Fleetwood Mac and Peter Frampton were all British, and not "yanky bands." Do some research. You should also learn to spell - the word is YANKEE.

Also, I wasn't born until after Thin Lizzy had folded and crappy music began to spread like an epidemic, so I have to go back and find all this stuff. So you'll forgive me if I'm only just now finding out about them.

  • Lynott lives on in our hearts as Lizzy fans, and so does Gary Moore RIP

  • Yeh sounds like the ONE and ONLY THIN LIZZY,HA HA.

  • voice and looks sort of remind me of hendrix. but not really.

  • for some reason this sounds like a kiss song, but fuck thin lizzy is the shit

  • @acdcrocker16 sounds nothing like kiss.

  • @SamFisherCell Hear hear

  • it's still rocks!!!

  • That's real music...

  • awsome

  • Downey in particular should have got more respect!

  • We have a cool three piece version of this song with a female vocalist up on our page, look for "Deep Blue dJinn, Night of the Wolf Moon"

  • listen to this everyday,fucken great .

  • It's too bad that the radio stations don't play this classic and others. What a shame!

  • Α ΡΕ ΒΑΣΙΛΗ ΔΑΒΑΡΗ.ΦΤΥΣΤΟΣ Ο PHIL LYNNOT ΕΙΣΑΙ

  • Brian Downey on drums, round of applause for Brian "Hawwwwhawwwhhahhhahhhawwhahh"

  • the singer has a kick ass mustache

  • i seriously cant stop listening to this, just keep repeating from 1:30 everytime lol such a great solo

  • @rawdogg696 Such a kickass band ;D

  • Cool,that's a great song Dedication,listen to it everyday.

  • Just revisiting this classic Rock song because I was thinking of the time in the 1970's I helped a friend move and he gave me some Thin Lizzy albums for my help that ended up being more valuable then money. :-):

Bad Reputation - Thin Lizzy [Dublin, Ireland] - 1977 - "One of their BEST. Lynott at his nastiest. I Do have a video at my site on this HOT song." - Dedication - The Very Best Of (Mercury)-1991.

NOTE: I'm giving this CD a rating of 3.4 stars (#stars/#tracks).

1/2 are 4 star and above.

  • Who da 'kin hell doesn't like this and bothers to click the button?
