  • they are not outhouses in the city..they are called privies and they threw everything that wouldnt burn in them..

  • I wouldn't touch the things

  • why are there so many bottles in the outhouse ditch?

  • @animi411 Because people used to throw they're trash away in there

  • Boy the annoying music really fits. I guess it's true: One man's shit is another man's treasure. You've got to be kidding me. Where are the township ordinance officers on this type of activity in someone's yard? I'm a picker myself, but this brings collecting to an all-new low [no pun intended]. Why not put all that energy into cleaning up that junk yard you're standing in?

  • That would make you stop biting your fingernails,I think

  • too many diggers spoil it... too new of a pit, are the garbage cans really worth it? We use tarps. You need too slow down when you hit the use layer and use a scratcher, that's why all the pontiled stuff is broken, duh!!!

  • Wow, you dug that hole deep! Congrats on all of the finds!

  • Okay I metal detect for old coin, rings....not to sound mean, but what's the point in digging in a old out house?? Are these bottles worth money? Thank You -Chris- in St.Albans,Me.

  • @cycloneCJproducts it's more about the adventure.

  • Sure, some bottles can be worth quite a bit. Kinda weird though huh? Digging out an old outhouse. Treasure hunters, gotta love em! :)

  • @cycloneCJproducts : yeah, there are some medical and elixer bottles that can be worth alot

  • Nice dig, but kinda unsafe if any of those walls were to collapse. It would take you more than ten minutes to dig someone out of there..just sayin..

Alot of old bottles made before 1860s-1870s are now worth alot of money folks, don't knock it. I've seen people sell their collections and make big bucks! But there is nothing like having some great pieces of history sitting on your shelves! Keep up the digging guys!
