man, i know how you feel! i recently went on a roadtrip across the southern part of of america, east coast to west coast, and my camera stopped recording just as we pulled into texas!! (about 40% of the way across) thankfully, by the time we reached the other side of texas id found a friends camera to borrow, but the whole ordeal was still sufficiently scarring lol im glad you got yours working again!

I think it's interesting how much we look at things in perspective. I would be sort of nervous to go the UK, just cause it's a different country and all that.
