I'd agree that lyrics shouldn't be jumbled up.....with most songs. But with this one, the order of the verses doesn't make any more sense one way or another. This is an excellent version of a great song.
after 30 years , in texas, california, colorado, vegas, liverpool, oslo, the new order tour, with some band for 13 year olds, maybe it was guns and roses ,1985 headlining glastonbury. hired a bicycle in taunton, arriving just in time to hear them in all their glory , standing with that bike in the mud- forgot to rent a lock and chain, riding in the rain after midnight , making a wrong turn, a kind lady in wells putting me up at her b and b , and thanks to man getting me off of the motorway.
You're right. I obviously mixed it up with "It’s All Over Now" which also was covered by The Rolling Stones and was written by W&W. This nice piece of music here was originally written by Bob Dylan, probably for Joan Baez.
@kiely Actually, Will said exactly that , I talked to him about it on the 2001 tour. Ive been going to Bunnyshows for 24 years now, they are in fact GODS , when Paul saw the tributes to the Unknown GOD, they needed to put in there, Lou Reed, The Bunnymen, and the Cowboy Junkies, and WIRE. All are GODS, and unknown in thier respective state of being a GOD.
@guyphawkes i loove Echo and Ian and all that ... i wasn't meant as an insult, i would expect that Ian dug The Chocolate Watchband pretty hard as they had a great version .. they are also under appreciated.
Still don't understand how and why other bands just decide to jumble up the lyrics and feel good about it. Idk. It's fucked up, but whatever. Otherwise, this is actually a really good cover. Similar to Them's cover, that's why I like it. Haha! Just put the lyrics in the right order and this would've been perfect. Oh well.
why do scousers always try to sound american when they sing? this is an abortion. a vile insult to dylan - by a narcissist who was outstyled by morrissey and a band who actually had some great songs - not just a posing, posturing place in a dead city - which can't get over the beatles and the 60s. the fact that the beatles' best music was written and recorded in london, and produced and influenced by london musicians, is irrelevant to scousers, of course.
"Outstyled by Morrissey"? That's the freekin' funniest thing I've heard! Morrissey would be glad to have 1 of Mac's ballz. Props to you for the laugh though, dude!
i almost cried when I saw this video out of the corner of my eye in the suggestions box. reading the title exicted me in a way I haven't felt in a while. great cover. learned about these guys from Donnie Darko, and this song from dylan and the dead. great cover...
AMAZING COVER! Kudos to Dylan for writing it, but Them sort of succeeded that one...and now EATB just has an entirely new dimension for this song. So ethereal. Love.
Good God, Echo and the Bunnymen do Bob Dylan, I knew I was onto something!

@FuriousFang I'm pretty sure Beck sampled the Dylan version in Jackass.
