  • "Great little gun!" :) This guy is awesome.

  • these r all godd suggestions but i was thinkin bout a classic MG42 full auto

  • God people say they need a gun at there house dont get a 12 gauge that is stupid hell get a 44 mag dont get a huge gun

  • hi. my name is carter and i have a channel that teaches beginners about firearms. i'm 10yrs old and i i wanted to tell you that i started with a Henry Reaping .22 LR and a Walther P22. i LOVE THEM BOTH! click my name to check out my channel about learning about firearms.

  • I was shooting guns since I was 8. Real guns.

  • @BrooklynXT1 These are real guns... Anyone who writes off the .22LR round is a fool, the training it provides is impeccable. The discipline honed with a .22 transforms over to much larger calibers and increases your skill all around. Plus who doesn't love shooting all day long on 20 bucks?

  • Just got my first gun today, even though I've been around guns since I was 9. It's a 100+ year old shotgun made by cresant firearms under american gun co. It's got quite a bit of surface rust however I'm going to reblue it. I'm going to do a documentary on my youtube channel if I can find my camera.....

  • i live in the uk where its harder to get your hands on a fire arm. im 14 and for my first fire arm. im getting a pre owned air rifle thats good condish thats cheap cos its prev owner is a legend. for £80 (thats how cheap im talkin) its a great spring air rifle scope worth £70 and silencer. the air rifle on its own costs alot

  • I'm 15 and wondering what sounds good for me my dad has been shooting for a while and help me with the basics of a gun which I have done the safety courses and am currently thinking about a mosin nagant or a henry lever action I would really like to know

  • @Lilfluffynacho1 Marlin Model 60 .22. got one when i was 14, still have it 15 years later, never had one problem with it

  • what is it with you Americans and guns??? just out of couriosty: is there any legal restricition on children owning and firing guns? i don't want to offend any gun enthusiast here, so no hating please, i just want to understand why you are so crazy about your guns...

  • @michaausleipzig cause guns are cool ...

  • @thepensmith1

wow ... okay ... not the kind of insight i had hoped for ... but thanks anyway. someone alse got an idea?

  • My graduation gift last year was my first gun, Saiga 12 :)

  • the firs firearm i shot was a 12 gauge shotgun at a scout camp at the age of 11. This was an amazing experience and the bruise on my shoulder are what taught me the real power of firearms.

  • I remember the first time I shot a gun... My cousin will probably give me one of his 22's when I get my hunting license

  • The Marlin 925 (now called xt-22) is similar to the Savage, and is an excellent choice as well. The new ones have an accu-trigger, and all of them have Marlin's micro-groove. I've got a full sized 925 in .22mag, and it is very easy to handle and shoot accurately.

  • the savage towards the end of the video that was said to be able to buy a larger stock later on, what was the model of that gun ---- thanks

  • On that Aquila Ammo you showed. do you have any more information on ammo like that? I have a Ruger 10/22 and I do not think it would work in that rifle. Like you said about squirrles. Im looking to dispatch thos varmits without bothering my nighbors.

  • @Tinman253 I have a Ruger 10/22 and those aquila .22 cartridges do not work in a semi-automatic rifle. You're going to have to get a single shot.

  • I started with a SIG 510 (Stgw 57) at the age of 7. It teaches you very nicely to hold your gun good and tight. My kids will start with a SIG550 (Stgw 90) which is much more pleasant to shoot.

  • I bought my niece a pink cricket rifle and people freaked out because she is only 7.I made sure she knew the gun safety rules, then we went shooting. This actually makes me feel better with having firearms in my home. She has more common sense toward guns than most teenagers that i know."I sure hope Rosie O'donneel doesn't read this."

  • i also started with a m1 and sweet baby lord almighty it was fun

  • cool video. i live overseas and wish more people could watch and understand how American shooters feel. it's complicated.

  • my first gun was an m-1 garand. wouldnt have it any other way

  • I remember the first gun i had when i was 10, a little .410 double barrel, beautifull little thing it was, nicknamed it "The Pea shooter".

  • god i cant wait to take my son on his first hunt!

  • @TheRedneckAtheist and it is!!! ain't that a bitch?

  • My first round out was a 7.62x39mm. I got myself a .22lr quite some time later. Sometimes the little guys are more practical/fun depending on what you're up to and where.

  • imo, you'd be better served starting a kid off with a bb or pellet rifle (not plastic airsoft crap), and teaching them the all-important safety lessons of how to properly handle a gun before getting them a real firearm.

  • @DragunBreath Airsoft is BB.

  • @sirlag01 - Most of the ones Ive seen fire plastic BBs, and they aren't in the same category that I am talking about.

  • @DragunBreath TBH they meant an actual gun...not a toy. I agree with you opinion...but I think they were actually going for lethal guns, not something like a toy. I don't know if I made sense there.

  • My first was a Rossi single barrel 22/410 combo not the best but it did kill a lot of squirrels.

  • My first gun was a .308 Remington

  • my first gun was a new england firearms single shot .410.

  • That key lock on the cricket is the dumbest thing I have ever seen! What ever happened to sensible safety devices? It you don't want someone using you gun, get a bolt lock or trigger lock!

  • never shot a gun but im getting a mauser 8mm with a 6x scope just so when fema comes

  • @EAGLEuyaGAMER

While the 8mm mauser IS a hard hitting round, if I were you...get a mosin nagant also, they are only about $100 - $200, they have an equally devastating round, but the ammo is cheaper so you can stock up, and its also good to have more then one gun for your "allies"...

  • i have a mossberg 12 guage with a 23 inch barrel that shoots 2 and 3 quarters and 3 inch shells

  • I just bought a Marlin 795 22. 6 more days of waiting and watch out rabbits and squires ; D

  • @zgermann209 Not the squires! Who will ready the horses for the knights?

  • The first gun I shot was some 12 gauge over in Italy.

  • or actually my first owned gun was a powermaster 66 air rifle, when i was a child we had a underbarrel lever air rifle, but it broke and I got the 66, but i never shot a "real" gun (every gun is a real gun) until i was 15, and that was the Unique Des 69!

  • my first gun was a Unique Des 69 (target pistol .22)!! and its fun as hell!!

  • The Cricket was my first gun. I shot thousands of tin cans at 100 to 150 yards. A perfect Saturday was me shooting 200 rounds at evil tin cans.

A .22 revolver is probable the best first pistol for a child as well. The Earl from NAA is probably perfect for kids.

  • my first gun was a 22lr ruger

  • i suggjest the heritage 22 single action revolver,the crickett single shot rifle,the marlin 795,or the 10\22.all 22lr and all $100-$220

  • That guy talking about shooting animals as if its something to be proud of how about we shoot him and see how he likes it.

  • @charlieiscool1000

Oh you are jut being silly.

  • @charlieiscool1000 Hunting is part of being a human. W/O it we would not be here.

  • @overclockedamd123 Thats no excuse for animal cruelty you can have fun with guns without harming other creatures on this earth you know but people obsessed with their firearms will never understand that and make up BS excuses never mind.

  • @charlieiscool1000 Most hunters eat what they kill i/e to put food on the table. Only trophy hunters do not. Dont push your beliefs on me and I wont push my beliefs on you.

  • @charlieiscool1000 How about pest control, how about putting food on the table, how about defending yourself from dangerous wildlife. Using firearms for those are actualy the quickest and most humane way of terminating animals.

If you can come up with a more humane way to do those three things, go ahead. Line them up here.

  • First rule: DO NOT EVER GIVE A CHILD A GUN. Most children play shooters these days.

  • @RETURNOFTHEM200 luckly i hate shooters :D

my parents wont let me have a gun... they prefer a 180$ airsoft than a 200$ .22 WHY? i just want to shoot it at the range...

  • the zombie ammo is from Hornady, and can be found on their website : )

  • anyone else find it ironic that he looks like santa with that long white beard and glasses and it says hohoho in the back ground, if that isnt irony what is

  • are the 10/22 25 round mags legal in mass? i just got a new one today and was looking around

  • old 6.5 x 55 Swedish Mauser that I got for my 12th birthday. It was my grandpas originally.

  • i got an 8mm mauser for mine XD

  • This is why America is so messed up....

  • @ThisNameWasntUs3d no this this the way to unvoid the USA to be so messed up

  • @ThisNameWasntUs3d yes our children are taught responsibly at a young age, something the Eurotrash never learn, so their government has to take care of them

  • @ThisNameWasntUs3d Why? Please enlighten us.

  • God knows I'd love a gun, for hunting, or targets. Ahh! Worst thing about being British

  • whait, what? for your child? hope with child you refer to some kind of 16 year old child

  • @perreterecon teaching kids when they are young about rifles is a good idea, i tried teaching my friend (15) about rifles and he loads of the time ended up making jokes when i told him how to hold rifles (the stuff i was thought by the "commander"when i was 10), it came to the point that the "commander" sed that he was not allowed to try and learn basic gun safety

  • @Trillios but if they are to young they can do a michief or something and hurt somebady or themself

  • @perreterecon yeah thats why they should have a Guardian to the age of around 15-16 maybe longer depending

  • @perreterecon i started shooting when i was 8, ive never shoot anything but paper, go cry someplace else

  • @DaytonaRoadster your so tough that your balls are gona explode,

  • my first gun was a ruger .22 assassins choice and a .28 gauge break barrel

  • i have a 1000 fps pellet gun lol

  • My first gun was the 10/22, I got it around 10 years old. Then I got a .410, single shot, at around 11 years old. I sill have both....

  • my first gun was a K98k 8mm Mauser

  • Got an under-folder AK for my first lol

  • 6:37 looks like an AK-47

  • @Cobras7111 more like an M-14 with extended mag

  • Good video, wish you went over more Semi-Auto .22s like the Marlin 60 and 795, Mossberg 702, Remington 597, etc.

  • what about the marlin model 60???

  • I have been watching all of the videos that have had the .22 mentioned.it peeked my interest on the subject so i had desided to go out and buy one and found a Remington TargetMaster model 41 made in 1937.how many is still out there?who knows.i have yet to find anything here in youtube to ever mention one of these models. So i have desided to start working on mine and post it on here for those that might have that same rifle.I'm interested in becomming a gunsmith so this will be the perfect thing.

  • i just got a savage .22 LR for christmas. one of the best christmas gifts i got.

  • @clony101 though its not a youth model because im 14 and am pretty big and mine doesnt have the acu-triger

  • Support the second amendment? Yea, vote Ron paul.

  • The nice thing about the CZ Scout is that it is the same action as the longer barrel versions so if the kid grows out of it all you have to do is swap the stocks (and some adults do that just for the short barrel).

  • rofl at the f2000 in the background

  • To piggyback on what you were saying about the Davey Cricket rifle, they are very accurate! We got my nephew one for Christmas a few years back. After about 9 months, we put a scope on it and I've yet to see my nephew miss a metal target, or soda can. They are great little rifles...

  • Hey Barry, I'm looking to get a 17 HMR under $400, I'm looking at CZ and Savage, which do you prefer?

  • I got a 10/22 as my first gun. Loads of fun. Maybe a bolt action to go with it would be nice. a .375 H&H or a .30-06 would be nice.

  • I remember when my dad bought me a little bolt action .22 for my 4th birthday; sort of similar to these guns (I still shoot it whenever I can).

    I'm 15 now, and I just got a Rock River .223 AR15 for Christmas.

  • @Ne1lcul congrats for the ar, you are one lucky kid!

PS. wich ar15 did you get?

  • @apemanking325 It's a Rock River Arms, .223 caliber, M4 style, tactical rifle. It has a stainless steel 18" barrel. I added flip up sights because this one didn't come with any sights. It has the all-important quad rails that I plan to use for extra attachments. I am currently saving up my money to be able to purchase an EOTech holographic sight, but that is a long way off.

  • @Ne1lcul Bah humbug (jokes) as much as I enjoy semi-autos, I'd take the 1914 .303 I got for my 15th as well.

  • I can't wait to take my boy/girl out to shoot with their first .22 rifle, if they are genuinely interested then I think ima buy them center balance's remington 597 bullpup kit in white. I'm sure they love the space age design & look to that thing.

Lol! Liberals don't know what there missing

    -RonPaul2012

  • I reccomend the rossi trifecta. I know two grown men that have it and tossed a stock extender on it. it is nice to have one gun but three options. plus your kid will not be satisfied with .22 forever they will want something with power plus you get all the capabilities of the different rounds

  • surely in a normal society kids dont have to learn how to kill people

  • @TheJaaysog

Its not about learn a kid how to shoot a gun to kill people

its about the fun aspect of plinking and hunting.

But what would you know (shortsighted, ignorant and a little scared maybe?)

  • @TheJaaysog Shut the fuck up. Seriously, shut the fuck up. I can't stand anti gun comments anymore. Fucktards like you don't have facts or statistics on your side, so you make statements like that to imply things or work on weak people's emotions. That's not why you buy a gun for your kid.

  • @TheJaaysog can you stfu?

  • @TheJaaysog in a normal society you may have to defend yourself, in a normal society human beings have hunted, as they have for 14,000+ years, in a normal society target and skeet shooting is a common sport, in a normal society people would laugh a idiots like you who are scared of everything

  • @TheJaaysog Teaching kids how to safely handle a firearm will save there life, you may not have guns in your home... but your kids friends homes do, better they know safety and respect for a gun rather than get killed because they were never taught what to do in the presence of a firearm / and or how to properly handle the firearm. Because in ANY society, knowledge will keep you safe and ignorance will get you killed.

  • Thank you for your posts!

  • My twins are 7, boy and girl. I took them squirrel hunting this year and I did the shooting. Next year, they will be shooting. I agree that kids should be introduced to hunting at a early age. It becomes normal to them then. My youngest always asks if we can shoot and eat it. She's 5. But don't be offended, I am a hunter, and she has grown up around that. Hunting and fishing provides alot of food for us. They associate hunting/fishing with things we eat. They realize, we can eat what we take.

  • my first gun i shot was... a Marlin single bolt I think... then a ruger 1022, then an M9, then an AR, then Remington SPR310 12GA, then Sig P245, then Glock 22, then Berretta Black Onyx 686, then SW .357 snubby, then a Mosin Nagant, then M1 Garand, then a Mauser K98k, then an M1a, then a Mossy 590 tac pump.... and soon... hopefully.... A keltec Su-16ca :D I guess thats my gun story

  • @SuperSneakySniper my gun history is tricking my mother into letting me get a 20 gauge.

  • If i ever have a kid, im getting him/her that FN2000 that is behind you...

  • to me the .22 is the most under rated caliber. its tons of fun, cost effective, and it doesn't rip your shoulder off lol when i was a bit younger i would put about 500 rounds through my .22 on the weekends at my family's ranch.

  • Now all you guys have to do is make a video to make parents want to get children into guns. That's my only problem, lol.

  • What makes you say that our country needs more gun enthusiasts? I don't disagree with you, but when it comes to firearms, that's not usually a common sentiment. And I would think America has a lot of gunnies.

  • That Colibri ammo is such an ingenious idea to get kids used to shooting and loading...It's low power and gives that extra peace of mind... standard bb and pellet guns are nice to teach shooting on but the action of loading cartridges is vitally important to learn early on...Thanks for the knowledge on the Colibri rounds...I'm gonna have to pick up a few hundred of those.

  • man i live in brazil and we don't have child guns, dammit :(

  • @MrAirsoftbrasil I thought Rossi was a Brazilian brand...

  • 8 or 10 years old? My son is 4 and loves shooting his single shot 22lr and airsoft pistol. Every now and then he gets excited and I have to remind him of the rules but he does a great job. I've seen him handle a gun with better trigger safty then some of my adault shooting buddies.

  • what was that zombie brand ammo in the background? haha

  • @BM2416 hornady zmax zombie ammo ......just in case

  • @BM2416 Hornady Zombie Max

  • @BM2416 Hornady

  • @BM2416 Hornady. Its called Z-Max, z for zombie. its the exact same thing as their V-Max bullets, just an advertising gimic.

  • @BM2416 hornady

  • @BM2416 Hornady Zombie ammo.

  • How's the business going?

  • Lol, Hornady zombie rounds in the back XD

  • i wish u guys had a store in kentucky haha

  • but my mark 2 didnt have the accu trigger

  • awsome vid guys i got my first gun when i was 4 im 15 now and i own 12 my first was a savage mark 2

  • Dear Santa...

  • I remember my first a gun - it was a P38 from Rommel's tank corp.

Amazing piece of history right there, and it shoots like a dream.

  • I prefer to give new kids the biggest gun I can find so I can laugh at them and make them never want to shoot again...

  • @Montyfiable wow your doing the gun community a favor, do you vote liberal too?

  • @567WORMBOY123 Sarcasm...

  • @Montyfiable Which only shows what a massive dick you are. Not have, are. Note the difference there?

  • @BigSwede7403 What?

  • Just sold one to a person in Iowa. I find that trappers like these to carry in a pack basket if they don't carry revolver.

  • Great video you guys! Start them right, start them young and they won't divert. I would say that, in my opinion, starting them with a 20 gauge shotgun is a better idea than a .410. The .410 may have less recoil, but it takes more skill to get good hits with it when compared to a 20 gauge. That's my 2 cents, but whatever as long as they get introduced to proper safe handling. That is what is most important. Well, that and not starting them out with a 3.5" magnum 12 gauge break action. No need t

  • I really like that single shot savage......

  • Santa!! I want that gun!

  • first love the beard and the HOHOHO in the back xD

anyway do you need a permit to get one of them and if so then i guess its in the partents name

and i take it they need to have a grown up watching them when they shoot the thing

  • Barry's beard is just awesome! all he needs is a santa claus dress this cristmas! the beard is already there!

  • At my range kids could only shoot .22s and they has to be 12 or older. I use a Ruger 10/22. Pretty accurate gun.

  • Amazing video, im going to let my son see this video and I'll ask him which one he wants.

    Thanks guys.

  • my first gun was a Stevens 22-410, really old but most accurate 22lr I've ever shot and will take any .410 I can put through it. Second was a Ruger 10/22 I put a Tapco and red dot on, not bad for a 14yr old eh? gunna buy a 12g after christmas

  • Great video! Especialy your partner controlling the muzzle of each gun as it was handled. Proper gun safety being the main factor. When training any new shooter.

  • My boy is 4 years.....I'm just waiting a little longer to give him a Ruger 10/22 I already have for him :) he knows not to touch any firearm, that they are dangerous.....just waiting a little more for him to get a little more mature.

  • i wish it would have said every models caliber but still an amazing video

  • Great subject matter! Thank you for mentioning that it is our responsibility to make sure we teach new marksmen so that our hobby stays strong and continues to grow. Please if you have the opportunity and ability to safely demonstrate to someone new our sport ,do so. I'm off my soap box now :-)

  • A woman can handle any gun you can. It all comes down to training.

  • @hydra046 Yes, but on average women are smaller than men, so smaller weapons are more helpful occasionally.

  • These samll guns are also good for survival packs and rifles. They are small and weigh nothing. Beats not having a gun.

  • the owner of this shop should go into voice acting. his voice sounds better than morgan freeman's

  • Some of those would be good for the child in my family (me).

  • Another vid with great info!

  • no lever actions at all? that's a shame ;) I bought my son an air rifle at 9, and two years later he has got a henry tube fed levergun that takes 22 shorts, longs, and and 22LR. Best youth gun EVER. He also harvested a 5-point 160lb whitetail buck with a Savage axis youth XP .243.

  • Always quality and informative vids thanks

  • They left out the Marlin 795 10 round magazine fed semi-auto at $125 with a $25 rebate. Get Tech Sights though. Light and accurate. Mine have thousands of rounds through them as Appleseed loaners. You just can't beat them.

  • The Ruger mags are takedown as well. They clean easily, and work great. Steel feed lips and all. I highly recomend.

  • These models, are they subjective to garage maintenance and upgrades? Lot of your vids involve restoring or modifying existing rifles, can junior learn some basic gun care and maintenance etc, what about scopes too? or are they designed for ease of use and need very minimal care.

2nd what are the availability of such/similar rifles in the UK. Semi autos are illegal anyway but juvenile rifles designed specifically for kids are very rare. Do you have any advice?

  • @clodester Other than bases for red dots, scopes, and such, theres not really a whole lot to mess with.

  • @clodester move to the us

  • @clodester midwayusa has a channel on youtube showing how to conert existing models into junior models - I'm in Canada so I have to be aware of my own limitations due to the law. CZ's are great if you have 'em. And the 452FS is just sexy.

  • @clodester they are actually quite plentiful you just need to know where to look.

By the way .22 semi-autos are legal.

  • My first gun was an Airgun.

  • When I was in kindergarten, my dad got me a Marlin 60 (the tube mag was easier for a little kid to load than the 10/22 mag). I still have that rifle 26 years later! He believes that children are naturally curious about guns and that it's important to get them familiarized and get the safety/responsibility aspect taught early on. That way, the kids understand how the guns work and won't be tempted to do something unsafe with the guns.

Thanks doing your part to educate and inform! Great work!

  • i wish my dad got me a gun when i was a kid :(

  • Sounds good
