@superjam18 - not certain as to the specific date, as I am not at home to find in notes, which I am sure I can come across, however, the best answer would be in saying, when 66 books were the only books that carried the consistency from OT times throughout the NT times. Other books, The book of Thomas, for example, were substantiated and clear to be inconsistent with the harmony and life that God established via His inspired authors and prophets and Jesus Christ incarnate, His Son/self in flesh
@superjam18 - in addition, one might keep in mind, that it was clearly God's intention, not coincidence, that there are only 66 books, totalling 31,173 verses in His word, that are in perfect harmony from start to finish; 40+ authors over 1600 years, with a 400 year break between the OT and NT times, with not one piece of evidence through archaeology, biology, geology and all scientific evidence included that discredits this absolute truth; no other book or religion can make such a claim. Thanks
You said you read the Qran, I haven't and don't have time to. Does the Qran speak about salvation, and Allah sending his son to die for the sins of mankind?? How much different is there between the Q'ran and the Bible?? Thanks for sharing.
@knowledgeispowerfful - The Quran claims for Muslims to reach 'paradise' or heaven, it will be based on good works; so depending on how good you are, you can end up in paradise. Questions is, how does one know who has earned their worth to end up in paradise. Secondly, Muhammad was a man--nothing more, nothing less and he is still in his grave. Lastly, the Quran is full of holes. Why? Because is it man.
The Holy Bible has 40+ inspired writers; Jesus rose from the dead and is not in the grave.
@knowledgeispowerfful - Salvation, is on faith only in Christ. Romans 10:9 says: "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. John 14:6, Jesus tells us: "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father (Heaven), but through me." And Jesus also tells us in John 11:25: "I am the resurrection and the life, He who believes in me will live, even though He dies. Visit you are worth it dot com
@knowledgeispowerfful - In closing, as this could get too complicated, and that should not be the case when it comes to securing your soul, for what comes next. There are two types of religion: Human accomplishment and Divine accomplishment. Muhammad and his Quran and his Allah (a pre-Islamic deity, the moon god) are clearly human accomplishment. There are bits and pieces of the Holy Bible, and countless other religious books in the Quran; no structure. Only Christ can be proven as Divine
@knowledgeispowerfful - PS...because your soul is also at risk, I had to add this: For your own sake, and acknowledging that your time is limited, as the masses, do yourself this one thing:
Gather every kind of quote you can by Muhammad (google to get some). Then, get the book by Steven K Scott "The Greatest words ever spoken", containing over 1900 statements made by Jesus--and with nothing but those quotes and statements alone, the truth will set you free my friend. Hope this helps! In Christ
I have a random question. When was it decided that there would be only 66 books in the bible? I might ask this on yahoo.
