  • nice, cool video i my channel

  • 1 one one this is 18 actual you call the ball

  • that must be scary as shit, coming up 10 feet short from going over the edge :/

  • Did he hook the last cable or something? That landing was close!

  • landing lasted longer than kkardashian's marriage

  • is it just me or did it look like he came close to the edge?

  • Tower, this is Ghost rider requesting a flyby.

That’s a negative Ghost rider, the pattern is full.

  • @ComedicInstincts fuck it, who cares

  • hell of a landing......

  • A lot harder than the carrier landing in Top Gun for the NES.

  • @strikerk

    It's easier with Powerglove :P

  • I bet if you land once on an aircraft carrier you will never ever complain again about "hard" landings on a passenger plane.

  • United States Navy carrier pilots are the best in the world.

  • Holy shit that would be scary!

  • I can do a carrier landing.

    In an Archer II

    On a runway

On a perfectly sunny day. We all have to start somewhere, lol.

  • nice landing, impressive as every carrier landing, if you like it, take a look at the french video, landing on CDG carrier which size is 2/3 of US carrier is most impressive even by night, watch?v=zByPa5jN3V4&feature=related

  • Land on that carrier like a golden glover, boy! Well done.

  • What a pric. Where would you be without "working class people"? And everybody starts somewhere!!!!

  • 600ft turning base when jet is just passing the stern. You do get around eight seconds lining up. If flown by the numbers it's quite doable.

  • @Mithrin126 what?

  • this is fucking scary .

  • Lets play, FIND THE MEATBALL!

  • Please don't comment on videos if you are incompetent. This video is real-time.

  • @F18driver08 This is the best comment ive seen on you tube!! :)

  • Some day......some day. Fuck high school.

  • @greentea1494 couldnt agree more dude

  • @greentea1494 If you fuck High School you will fuck your Dream

  • @nvstewart just dont not graduate. kick ass in college and you'll be fine.

  • @greentea1494 That's true lol. What I meant was I just want it to be over.......not to fail it.

  • For a moment I thought that he has failed to land.

  • 34 people are gay

  • @MrPedoShine no, 34 people dislike this video because: Theres no audio, and the video was sped up.

  • @MrPedoShine So disliking a video makes you gay? You're an idiot, or just trying to be funny (which is far from it buddy). Don't you think that saying is so old now? Offensive to some people? how about not commenting at all.

  • is it just me or does this look like military training sim?

  • definitly not sped up, most people just think it is, but that landing zone, isnt even 1k feet long, and at 130 knots, that goes by quick!

  • Super heroes, all of you. just beautiful to watch.

  • That's NOT sped up

  • Man's work. =l

  • As a former LSO I can tell you, 15-18 seconds would be graded as long in the groove or waved off. It is a little short, but not out of limits. Not sped up!

  • Bravery lasts with pay. No pay=no military.

  • he came in a bit too high, wont get the best grade for this landing.

  • @jd185152

Better too high than too low.

  • it seems really hard to do right

  • Wonder if they have diapers on the first time they do that, pretty scary

  • Actually, the speed is just right. Just the way I remember it. =D

  • Carrier landing on Meth

  • Does anyone know if modern jetfighters can land on autopilot, or only the pilot can?

  • @ale7730 most likely manual.

  • @ale7730 They can...all the Hornets/Superhornets can at least. It's called a "coupled" landing but it's rarely done. Only senior guys really do it.

  • That is awesome

  • I have never been a pilot myself, but I wouldn't call this a landing. I prefer controlled crash landing instead :)

  • "Yeah definitely not his first landing. He just almost went off the deck, thats all." Lol

  • @Craiggerz0417 This video isn't sped up. That is an extremely short final. It's sunny with good seas, so that's why. If you look at how the ship moves in relation to him when he gets close to touching down, you can see that it's the right speed.

  • @Craiggerz0417 Whats obvious is that your too retarded to notice a VERY short final. I live near MCAS Mirmar and see these guys do this all the time...it's not sped up at all and it is really easy to tell after it grabbed a wire.

  • @Craiggerz0417 It's not sped up haha... If anything it's slowed down.

  • @Craiggerz0417 doesn't seem to be sped up... Maybe you're right but if you are the pilot would be kind of ... slow lol

  • @Craiggerz0417 Doesn't seem sped up at all. Approach at about 145 knots is bound to look fast.

  • @Craiggerz0417 it isnt sped up

  • @Craiggerz0417 this is definetly not sped up =S

  • @Craiggerz0417 This isn't sped up. Definitely not over double the speed. Poke around here and you will see plenty of carrier approaches like this one.

  • @Craiggerz0417 looks about right, if it were at 1.5 or 2 speed the pilots head movements wouldn't be so fluid.

  • @Craiggerz0417 It was speed up because if they didn't it would be laggy (that was a HD camera for its time)

  • @Craiggerz0417 Too bad it isn't sped up.

  • @Craiggerz0417 my brother flys for the navy and he even said this video isnt sped up lol. you fail sir

  • @vickfan24707 trying to prove your status over the internet won't impress anyone, it's anecdotal.

  • @graymic wasnt trying to impress anyone haha. nobody was talking to you kid

  • @vickfan24707 Technically not a kid, god how I hate working class people.

  • @graymic You hate the working class? So that makes you someone living off of free welfare?

  • @TravisTravisG You realise you can work and not be apart of working class right? It's a social science. working class is "lower tier jobs" as opposed to middle which is either inherited through ancestry or from "higher tier" jobs (being anything above 37k.

  • @graymic Im considered working class as i work contruction, last year i made 130 thousand roughly. Might want to get your shit sorted there, son.

Those people you look down your nose at often make more money than those toffy arseholes sittin in some a/c office thikning themself important.

Without the working class nothing would happen.

  • @Antifaith29 I'm sorry to inform ol chap, but working class people do not earn more money on average than the other social classes. There is a reason why you have a tiered system. I'm not disputing the fact that you may have earned a respectable amount of money, however; aside from me assuming that to be some form of fabrication to heighten your e-penis on youtube for the benefit of everyone else, I would advise that you go back and learn your definitions... son.

  • @graymic And you may want to look into the average wage of someone working in the construction industry , especialy sub contractors. Obviously a little ignorant in that regard. I know a flooring guy , that's right, a lowly vinyl and carpet guy that wont bother with a job unless he can make at least 2 grand a day out of it.

By no means the top of the heap but certainly nowhere near your distorted view of things. Hell, i even know a coupple of bricklayers that are millionairs.

  • @graymic Oh, and lets not get starters on miners, offshore riggers ect, also considered working class, also making good dollars.

The world is a little different than you may think. Sure there are working class not doing so well, just as there is white collar that dont do so well. Your class system is no longer valid.

  • @Antifaith29 The class system is still very much valid, the highest paying job. that's right, the job you have to work for your money is still science & it, going into the hundreds of thousands. The national statistics have nothing to cover up. Rigging is on there and states a measly £50k.

If you want to earn any money you run your own business, that being said that is 10% of the working class who do that. Middle class need not worry about monetary income as 60% have over £1m in assets easily.

  • I don´t think that was his first carrierlanding :)

  • a bit rough, but i think its OK3

  • dam her eyes out?

  • looks like he got the last cable

  • that looks scary!

  • yeah imagine doing it in the middle of the night in combat conditions and fighting fatigue :D

  • @devanoo2 you've done that? or you're just putting things in perspective? gtfo

  • @sixtynizzle what are u talking about bruh????

  • @devanoo2 Actually, I once read that during the first Gulf War, the Navy measured the vital signs of pilots throughout the missions, and blood pressure was markedly higher during the landing phase than during the actual combat. I was surprised by that, but you are right, roll all that together and you'd have to be pretty wiped out after getting back.

  • not now..did some time on hms averly and hms ark roial, back in the 70s...i was in the cadets and reserves loved it...my grand farther was a 1st mate for the same line as the tietanik way back..i have seen a plain miss the wire when landing,he went out of sight of the bow, then gunned it,...flames and all...he saved it,came around and landid safley, dont know how you guys do it....

  • mannn..i thought we were going of the end...my lunch would have been all over the glass....thanks..

  • your in the navy?

  • controlled crash is the rigth words to describe that

  • good

  • Wow 337,302 views and just 146 rating LOL

  • Fellers....

F-18s or any other Naval aircraft do NOT flare. They fly a 600-700 fpm powered descent and have a controlled crash on the deck. Also, the speed is dependant on Fuel and Stores left. Its usually around 135-140 Knots Indicated AirSpeed. F-16 for example has a noticeably higher approach speed of around 160 KIAS.

  • this would have been better if it was the f-14. your pilots and people hate you hornets!!!!!

  • This video is sped up, asshole.

  • The landing speed of a F18 is around 150, which is right around the same ball park as any other fighter like the F16, F15. Engineers design aircraft so they can t/o and land at reasonable speeds. Hell man, even the flying brick, F117, approach is 160.

This video is obviously sped up, appearance wise they would have been doing 400+ to approach the carrier that quickly, it would have ripped the hook off and/or their heads.

  • the flair speed 135 knots in a F18

  • the approach speed for legacy hornets is around 145 knots or so (depending on weight), but procedurally airspeed is irrelevant as to maintaining glideslope and attitude, which is all dependent on weight. a lightly loaded hornet could be as slow as 125 knots (probably single pass and hit the tanker if bolter).

  • Also the carrier is moving at 30+ knots so that can be subtracted off landing speed.

  • @snakeii0 ITs moe like low 140s, but is true.. the Tomcat had it on the high 120s mid 130s thanks to its swing wing desing

  • There is four cables , and the plane catches either one of them to stop

  • how it is possible body can afford it I would never do that... :)

  • you got to have balls...

  • not juz any balls, but with balls of stell lol!!

  • dude i would pissed my pants my firest time

  • g-suit full of shit xD

  • quite obviously fast-forwarded

  • are you fucking retarded theres a hook at the tail of the all planes on carriers which catch 3 cables to stop it

  • actually theres 4 cables. and the vid was fast fowarded. it doesnt come in to land that fast. just look at his head movements

  • @scottrules95 No, hes in the ronald reagan probobly. the reagan and bush have 3 wires, and rest have 4 wires

  • @scottrules95 no dude,they r going that fast,takes big old cahones,right?

  • they're going fast, just not as fast as they are in this video. watch his head movements. after he stopped, it was played normal speed

  • Fuck!, White knuckles on the throttle.

    Respect!

  • Then go play em.

  • @DynamicChaosSystem definitely not sped up bro. they're just lining it up that quickly

  • Seems like he came in a bit fast.

  • LOL way to fast he nearly went off the Carrier he was like 2 meters away from the end

  • True, although they need to come in quite fast, because if the hook and wire screws up, they need the speed to take off again.

  • Oh right cool

  • Just think, It litterally takes two years just to land on an aircraft carrier. Thats practice right there.

The (ch)Air Force just takes minutes just to land on land.

  • why is this on fast forward?

  • to look more awsome

  • Its really not on FF. Looks quick because it is quick.

You can tell its not on fast forward by his head shake, the speed of his roll out isnt fast and he looks left at the end.

All normall speed, thats why its so hard.

  • uh what? that's not a simulator...

  • It's called "real life"

  • It's a new simulator called...

    REAL LIFE.

    Fucking idiot.

  • Fuck. You.

  • No thanks. Fag.

  • Ha ha ha fuck u

  • Is that your only insult? Shows your low level of intelligence...

  • WTF no it wasn't meant to be a insult i was just joking around LOL.

  • @motorcrosser12 then your cool then.

  • Why? LOL

    Plz reply :)

  • not much time for a line up at all! NICE!

  • THAT IS A BAD AZZZZZZ PILOT . and a BAD AZZZZZZZZZZ JET

  • the pilot was from VFA-15 Valions. BEST squadron EVER!!!

  • awesome footage

  • What's their landing speed?

  • 150

  • about 130-140 knots.

  • 150

  • Ouch.....

  • Great video

lolanubislol looks like its prity close to me, FSX or fs9 looks just as real ,without the back probs..

  • that was me flying

  • Awesome

  • Remember me ? I was recording behind you :D

  • what part of the service are you in? what do you do in your life to make a difference in the world? if your not in any branch shut the fuck up you have no right to speak but if you are.. im getting shipped out again so if i see u im boxing u, see who wins and goes up in rank :) but i usually win mma helps out alot

  • nice try. the camera is on the seat.

  • man that impact must really kill your spine...ouch

  • Very much accelerated. Actual speed may be 1/4th of the current one

  • holy crap that's fast!

  • yeah, shure as hell aint FSX F18. FSX is so inaccurate.

  • FSX wasn't made for Fighter flying but for Civil flying.

  • YUP, but they have to switch to full throttle on landing, wheras airforce would not have to. the reson is so that if it misses the arresting gear that catches the plane, it dosent shoot off and drop in the water, it accelerate back out into the air :

  • Yup

  • It appears this video has been accelerated, which makes the adjustments that the pilot made before touch-down and the deceleration after touch-down look extremely violent. In reality, everything happens slower and more smoothly.

  • wow good one dude! I wish I was that cool to make comments like that, but I'm not.

  • @jleeutube Quite obviously. Who can move their head that quickly? lol

  • man that was rough too much movement at the ramp

  • no hook on the wheels.. there's a hook on the tail of the jet that captures the deck wires.

  • Yeah that's exactly right, no idea what idiot said the wheels... oh, it was xxshredderxxx.

  • How is it possible to stop a plane so quicly ? I'm always amazed by this !

  • I know the mechanism, yet 15 tons stopped in less than 2 seconds, it's truly amazing !...

  • oh ok. Idk how to explain past that but yes it is

  • Hook onto the wheels? What the hell?

  • Ya, no idea lol. hes wrong, the arresting wires don't hook onto the wheels. They snag onto the tail hook, a hook that pilot drops from under the plane.

  • lol wheels.

  • dude u have no clue what ur talking about lol... but ur close enough haha

  • Its not...your organs pay for it over time.

  • lucky to get the wires! shiiittttt

  • he should have been waved off...good conditions, bad landing

  • Serious landing...looks like he got the # four wire.
