I love The Name of the Wind and usually don't care for fanmade trailers, but I have to say that this one is very clever! I like that there's no words in it because that's usually what I don't like in other trailers. Great choice of actor for the role of Kvothe, that's really close to how I picture him. :)

The problem with this trailer is that there are no words, because there are no lines, because there is no script... because it's fan made. I've never seen a 3 minute movie trailer without any dialogue. The great fan made trailers at least pretend to follow a script...

@Ilissill Name of the Wind is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa­aay more lighthearted than Game of Thrones. Not that there's a lack of suspense and tension, but it's unlikely to make you curl up in a fetal position and cry like aSoIaF. It's one of the rare books that has repeatedly made me laugh out loud.

I really hope they never do make a film of this book. As awesome as it could be, the book would have to be butchered to make it work as a movie. It would just end up being an abridged version of the story. If they can't keep all of the detail of the Harry Potter books in the movies they'd need to split The Name Of The Wind into a trilogy on its own!

@fatmikecj A book is never "butchered" as a result of a movie adaption, however, you nonetheless are correct...a movie of "Name of the Wind" would simply not be able to justify itself in face of the great novel by Patrick Rothfuss..I'm re-reading the book as I type this! I've read many fantasy novels and the such and this is by far the most inspiring and wonderful of them all!
