  • God bless him! :(

  • An unfortunate bad decision. So many reasons this guy could have died, honestly a single tank air dive( single tank, no travel gas, I'm assuming it's air) to that depth, would be a miracle to survive. If the extreme narcosis at 112m didn't get him then he probably seized up from oxygen toxicity. Also, i haven't calculated, but i think even if this poor guy dove straight to the bottom then straight up (assuming safe ascent time) he still wouldn't have enough air. PLAN YOUR DIVE, DIVE YOUR PLAN :)

  • Why didn't they recover this body?

  • Многие Америкосы дураки1 это наш легендарный подводник погиб!((( Северный полюс, Льдды кругом, у него там крест стоит!!!!!!

  • Why would people want to do this. Sometimes people do things lacking foresight and caution in the name of extreme sport. Heck, I'm nervous just being in a swimming pool alone in the dark.

  • this is not yuri lipsky

  • Wow that is a scary sight. Narcosis is such a bitch.

  • Jesus, that floating air tank is grim. RIP.

  • When will people learn that diving isn't natural, humans arnt meant to breath under water, i mean what do you expects gonna happen?, you think you can put on a suit and strap a canister to your back and live with the fishes?. Its a daft thing to do and people that do it dont have a solid understanding of its dangers. Id rather jump from a plane, at least id be above water, about 30 thousand feet above water

  • this is only a memorial, no real body

  • Why the government doesn't take these bodies out? They shouldn't be a tourist attractions ffs :/

    RIP dude

  • @Johnno3D They should just leave it. I want to pay big $ to see it as a tourist attraction.

  • LOOK AT THAT WETSUIT. iTS STILL IN GOOD SHAPE, WHAT MAKES AND MODEL IS IT? I WANT TO BUY THAT KIND.

  • @ocbountyhunter are u stupid seriously what kind of stupid joke is that i mean seriously what a fuckin idiot u are

  • @stussyboys I do dive and the wetsuit these days are useless I want a long lasting wetsuit like his. I bet it's expensive! Do you think?

  • @ocbountyhunter ur boring man seriously boring zzzzzzzzz........

  • @stussyboys Yet you fail to answer to my question. Your brain must be retarded.

  • @ocbountyhunter keep replying to me and wasting ur time fuckface hahaha

  • @stussyboys Should I report your account?

  • @ocbountyhunter im going to report ur mother for having bought such a stupid child into this world haha u moron go take a hike.

  • @stussyboys

You're not clever and you're just making yourself look dumb, just stop replying to him.

  • @mookman22 dude...........er i dont care

  • @mookman22 Maybe you're the dumb one not understanding the problem. You should be diving in there too as a tourist attraction.

  • is that the bottom of the hole ?

  • Video geht nicht????

  • Now that's a very long lasting wetsuit. What brand is that from? I want that one.

  • @ocbountyhunter hahaha I laughed my ass off xd

  • 頭と足から魚に食べられたんですね

  • damnit, i was epecting a vid on the recovery of Yuri Lipski...

still, i wouldn't want to dive at the blue hole, too dangerous.

Besides if my dead body started rolling, it would drop right off the edge down hundreds of metres...

  • the recovery wasn't recorded as far as i know. there's a short vid of them bringing him out of the water. just looks like a dude in a wetsuit, he wasn't down there too long.

the dumbass russian in this video went diving at night, with just air and tried to dive the arch. lost his buddy, narc'd out, done and done.

you can dive the blue hole safely... just gotta not try the arch right off the bat on air...

  • that cylinder looks like its due a test!

  • Comment removed

  • Pretty sure that was a distasteful comment

  • how long has this dude been there?

  • about 10 years

  • cool, so how long more has he got before he gets out of that hole?

  • @bogomolov how do you know that body has been there for 10 years? and who was it that died?

  • Yuri Lipski 1977-2000 Was the chap who was recoverd.

  • The head is not missing, the fish (very small ones at 110m deep, almost nothing leaves) eated the feet and the face, so only the bones, the belt & neoprene. The head, without muscles have no way to sustend link to the boby. She was a Belgium girl. RIP. About to recover the bodyes, it is forbiden by law, excep if the family want to recover, them they need to pay a big money for that, like the Family of the chap who had a camera with him.

  • Can someone please explain to me why the feet and head are missing?

  • Predation.

  • This is actually a body made out of concrete. It's there to remind everyone the dangers of diving.

  • yes,i was thinking about that,too :D

  • Large animals can not live in blue holes due to the lack of dissolved oxygen, so no sharks.

  • true

  • That one was There for awhile.

  • theres no sharks on blue holes u noob

  • Comment removed

  • I've seen small hammerheads and reef sharks in the Blue Hole many times.

  • how can you verify that it was partially eaten by a shark? it could have been other fish; please stop blaming the shark for every little thing. if a shark eat from that body it would be missing parts. sharks have no hand so they tear their food of the body by brute force. that body looks in really good shape except for the missing flesh on the lower feet. this is not your video so you weren't their nor are you a shark expert and can identify shark bites. so shut up about the shark.

  • Hi diverjonny... you can see if a skeleton is male, female, caucasian, african etc.. how tall, how old (approximately). So once they brought the body up, somebody must have seen what it was... unless they don't examine dead bodies. Still... usually people that die in dive accidents are idiots, natural selection. Not all, but most, diver error...

  • someone can correct me if i am wrong. but I don't think a body that has been lying there in the water for a period of time can actually be recovered. judging by the the condition of the body from the video I wouldn't think it possible.

  • Is the body still at the bottom of the blue hole or has it been recovered in the meantime?

  • I guess video info and annotations were not very convincing for you :-) This body is indeed referred to as 'Barbara', but it is NOT. Please see video response to this video. Thanks!

  • it is not Barbara

  • damn son

  • "What happened to the feet?" - prawns, shrimp, crayfish and crabs are scavengers that rip bodies apart. Shrimps will get in your eye sockets, nose and ears and turn your insides to mush. The last time I did a body recovery the police gave us smaller 'head bags' as well as 'body bags' so we didn't have to look at what was left of the face while putting the corpse in its bag.

  • well thats a pleasent thought.....is it your job to recover bodies? im just wondering.

  • If you go through a life career as a professional diver and don't get to recover a body then you are lucky!

  • if you are actully a SAR diver im sure you shouldnt be discussion the details of the recovery

  • paul221983 who the hell said I was an SAR diver? I've been out the Navy over 30 years now and a 'professional' diver and we do get called to do many body recoveries and I'll discuss anything I like thanks.

  • what happened to his feet?

  • sad. I hope this person has been recoverd and re-united with family / given a proper burial now.

    My observations -

A single cyl air diver would never be knowingly diving at 112m (360ft) - due to heavy narcosis and lack of gas (single cyl would last only a few mins only). Aluminium Cylinders float when empty - hence why it is sticking up. I think they must have lost consciousness and floated down to the last resting place. Very sad

  • This looks like Yuri Lipski's body.

  • NO. Read the comments and wisen up.

  • The internet is rife with BS and incorrect info, there is nothing arrogant in wanting to correct it. It's funny that after you realised you were wrong you are spiteful.

  • theunraveler, to recover a body you place what you can in a bodybag. There is no other way to succesfully recover a long deceased corpse from the water.

  • any idea what happen to the dude in the video's head? it seems to be missing

  • and her feet too

  • dude come on really thats so dick dont say that unless your really a diver in all honesty

  • Ofcourse he was not eaten by sharks, his feet just fell off! But seriously guys, I have seen the last video by Yuri Lipski, and these images matches the last seconds of video in Lipski's divecam.

  • NO. This has been proven by scubazmei and overseasmedia, and myself to death. Search and watch the other videos (starting with my video response) and stop dissemination incorrect information.

  • This is scary. I'm a diver and....i couldnt even imagin finding the remains of someone while on a dive....i dont know how i would handle myself...

  • I can't help thinking that if he was a member of my family I would hate knowing that his body was on display for the world to see on YouTube. I think it's important that people should be allowed their dignity in death. YouTube is great..... but this feels too like an invasion of personal dignity.

To his family: I'm sorry I looked. RIP

  • @helenaZZZZirlandaise Unless you can identify the body don't be sorry.

  • i'm actually kind of wondering, with body recovery...how do they be discreet about it? i mean it muz have been a bit of a shock when u haul up a body from the water while everyone on the beach is gawking

  • The tank is empty!

  • yes, the diver must have fallen asleep or lost consciousness

  • Do the diving teams that goes to these places ever take pictures of the divers before they go in? I mean it would help to identify who is missing from the team when they surface. and how come no one invented any locators for divers to wear incase they get seperated or lost at the bottom?

  • divers usually leave their certificates (with photographs & names) at dive centers where they rent equipment, so theoretically this should not be a problem.

as for tracking devices - i guess it is the cost. besides, if visibility is bad - you either don't dive or user ropes.

  • oh. i think Ii'll pass my locator idea to someone higher that can get it done. cause i'd hate to be lost at the bottom if i ever dive.

  • if you get these locators on the market and i can get a pair for EUR 50 in a year or two - that would be great! until then - i'll just stay close or use ropes at extremely bad viz :-)

  • He may not have rented equipment...this is the blue hole. Only VERY experienced divers will dive there. In most cases, experienced divers have their own equipment.

  • what was that wrapped around the body?

  • remainings of BCD and regulators

  • Hi bogomolov, nice annotations :)

  • die Wahrheit über alles...

  • I dont know much about diving..but are'nt divers mant to have a diving buddy? How come nobody reported the diver missing? The remains look female...kinda has female hips.SO VERY SAD.

  • How can you claim to identify a decomposed skeleton inside a wetsuit to have female hips? There would be nothing left of the body, look at it's state of decomposition.

There has been some research on this by Elena Konstantinou, and according to "HIS" dive buddy, this appears to be the remains of a man who died during a night dive, he disappeared when the buddy team turned off their lights for a stupid dare.

  • Womens wetsuits are cut differently from mens

  • the web site is in Russian.

  • click on British flag at the right for english version.

  • still no word on whos body this is can you get any clues about the tank or gear? i know nothing about diving but find this very intresting

  • ogomolov: Budu ochen' priznatel'na vam! A to u menya uzhe net sil ot nih otbivat'sya... Spasibo ol'shoe zaranee, Elena

  • bogomolov: Zdravstvuite, vy ne mogli by rasskazat' na forume (poslat' post) chto etogo daivera ne s'ela akula. I u nego est' "nogi" (kosti) Poluchila email ot cheloveka po imeni "blechdackel", kotoryj schitaet, chto Yuriya Lipskogo tozhe s'ela akula, otorvav emu nogi, kak i etomu dajveru..

  • oo ok thanks. do you have any idea on what happened with Yuri Lipski? and theories?

  • there are a few good documentaries on YouTube about Yuri. Please check them out.

  • what does it mean when people are saying that he tried to bounce?

  • 'bouncing' is a dangerous type of diving, where diver goes very quickly to a specified depth and immediately starts accent, since if one stays at this depth any longer, he or she is going to ran out of air, risk oxygen toxicity or narcosis. it is dangerous because if something goes wrong, there is usually no plan 'b'.

i am not sure whether this diver tried to bounce - see the response to this video.

  • i'm surprised no 1 disturb the body...if it was me...i couldnt resist writing "xxx was here" with a smiley face on the tank

  • haha... your sick. lol

  • how about watching the video "Yuri Lipski 1977-2000" here on the tube so your small brains can understand that this is Yuri.

  • How sad... Your ignorance can only be matched by your rudeness. Yuri's body was recovered. This one has not. Yuri's video has nothing to do with this one. On average, 25+ people die in Dahab each year. Not all of them are recovered.

  • The bottom of the Blue Hole is just a shelf in the reef wall. If a body went over the edge its 1300m to the bottom. The Israeli Navy put an ROV on the bottom in the 90's and observed numerous remains of gear dating back into the 1960's.

  • I see that you have an interest in diving. If your decisions while in the water are as stupid and uninformed as your comment here Kahuna76 I for see a very short, very tragic dive career ahead of you.

  • It's a short clip with no info in the video. This body is face down and and the tank is pointing upwards like Yuri's did, explained by the guy who got him up, but that may be common. This person does have a full suit but i don't know what Yuri was wearing. Your comment thegirl44 doesn't give any helpfull info at all.

  • I'm not going to repeat what has been explained to you already in this post. Read through peoples responses to you in the comments, people familiar with the incident and the area. All of the reasons as to why this is not Iouri are contained in this thread.

  • I get the point that this is not Yuri. My point is that you're an idiot for just calling my comment stupid without giving any further info. It's like writing "First!" when a video is posted. Makes you even more dumb than me.. scary thought huh..

  • I wasn't writing the comment to provide info. I was writing the comment to point out your ignorance although your comment already sufficiently did that.

  • The video doesnt give any information. It's the body of a diver. Nothing more. Ignorance has nothing to do with it. Guessing that i'm going to die cause i'm trying to make some sense out of this and getting it wrong makes only one person an idiot, and it's not me.

  • No the video doesn't give any information, so how does this give you the right to give WRONG information in the comments section? Not only that but you persist in giving this wrong information even when you are told the actual facts? This to me shows that you are not only an idiot but and arrogant idiot who cannot learn from his mistakes.

  • 1. I said i was wrong 8 min ago so reading is probably hard for you.

    1. What is facts and what is wrong can only be decided by good information from people and not your post about who you think is going to die. That barbage doesnt help. We all give the information we think is right. I wrote what i thought was right. You only knew what was right cause of posts more intelligent than your own stupid "you're goona die" posts that just fill up this space.

  • Wow you are a complete and total moron, I mean you actually fit the medical definition of moron. I knew what was right before I even clicked on this video and what I knew was confirmed by posts more intelligent than YOURS. Go away, moron, your back peddling is boring and is only proving to confirm your stupidity. Stop embarrassing yourself, please.

  • Watch the Danub Blue Hole Tragedy on this site then watch Yuri Lipski 1977-2000, the footage of that body, Yuri's Body, is not this body.

  • One more time...

This is NOT Yuri Lipski. His body was recovered immediately.

This is also NOT Barbara Dillinger, from Portugal. She died in an ambulance en route to the hodpital in Sharm after a fast ascent from the blue hole, siffering from a burst lung amd also probably a gas embolism (the bends).

  • Hi baa * 6! Did you get in contact with Elena? Could she tell you who this poor diver was, if not Barbara?

  • Wait so this Barbara or not? And Barbara was from Portugal?

  • Well.. you didnt watch the video. The body retrieval guy explained how Yuri was face down, with "his tank chopped" floating. It's even a rip from the TV documentary. You think they would know better than you baabba... you should watch the video. It explains who this is!

  • maybe then you can explain to us, how come this diver has full suit on, while Yuri died wearing a shortie?

And how his body is still there, while Yuri's was retrieved in 2000?

  • All aluminum tanks do that once they're empty.

  • Wait so this Barbara or not? And Barbara was from Portugal?

  • why isnt anyone going to recover the body if they know where she is

  • people respect other people's death wishes

  • Hi bogomolov. Elena has spoken to the buddy of a diver who disappeared during a night dive a few years ago. The wetsuit seems to match the suit he was wearing.

I've got a DVD with interview footage about Barbara's death in the ambulance on the way to Sharm, but it has CRC errors and I can't encode it yet. I'll post it ASAP. Please remove Barbara's name, we have determined it's not her. Thanks, Jonny

  • done.

    Thank you!

  • Got reply from Andrey:

    1. this is not Yuri, his body was recovered a few days after his death

    2. I am not sure who this is. These remainings are called 'Barbara', but I don't know the real name of this person.

So - the case closed. THIS IS NOT BARBARA AND NOT YURI.

    RIP!

  • i think this was yuri lipskis.i think

  • Learn to read the description.

  • its not, yuri lipsky was recovered

  • man, wtf r u talking about? dont even say a thing u dont know a shit about it. Yuri Lipskys body was recovered not long after the incident. n the cause was not because of any marine creatures whatsoever. try to read the box on the top right corner of this page.

u r such a dumbf*ck for saying things that u dont even know at all. i hope u f*ckin die.

  • @E46addiks

What did you say to me?

YOU HOPE I WILL FUCKING DIE?

Are you crazy in your head?

Little sewer rats like you with a vocabulary that only contains the word "fuck" should better shut their fuck up and visit a school instead of consuming drugs!

    AR5HOLE !!!!

  • No doubt.

Was this deceased diver on air only (no Nitrox?Heliox?) Looks like just one tank (that's empty and floating) and no deco stop tanks.

What did the divers do who filmed this... I'm assuming they mark the location w/ a float and report it for recovery.

Whew. This is sad to see.

  • Very disturbing to watch, thanks for sharing.

  • This is NOT Yuri Lipsky - he was recovered a few days after he died.

This is NOT Barbara Dillinger - she died in an ambulance after a burst lung / arterial embolism from rapid ascent in Dahab's Blue Hole.

People please don't be like sheep. Just because everyone thinks something is true, it doesn't mean it is...

  • hi! can you please confirm your identity (you can do that in private message) so i know you are not talking hot air? i know andrey (who made this video) and i trust him when he says that this is what remains of barbara.

and yes, you are right - it is frustrating to see people commenting on video without actually reading its info. after a while i gave up on trying to convince people it is not yuri's body - someone linked to this video saying it is :-\

    thanks!

  • hi bogolomov. I know Andrey Chistyakov from his website, he has a good reputation from what I've heard. I'll upload a video soon where the diver involved in Barbara's death speaks about the episode (this guy is well known, he's acted as support diver for Nuno Gomez record attempts). Cheers!

  • THIS BODY BELONGS TO SOMEONE ELSE!

Barbara Dillinger is an Argentinian who died in an ambulance on the way to Sharm in 1998. She had a burst lung from rapid ascent in the Blue Hole due to panic. In a cruel twist of fate the ambulance ran out of O2 AND fuel on the way in the middle of the night. After 40mins waiting for a taxi to bring fuel she passed away. There is a plaque in her memory by the Blue Hole. Strangely, she is the only woman to have died as a result of diving Dahab's Blue Hole. RIP

  • Oh thats tragic

  • Ok Folks. This video is NOT from Yuri Lipski. There's several videos about Yuri on youtube, go watch them. His body was brought up right after the accident. Apparently, this body is that of Barbara Dillinger.

  • Narcosis can happen at 100 feet. I do alot of cold water diving being from Canada. It can differ from person to person and I agree, Yuri was in a different world at those depths. If he were trying to Bounce as some say it is a very dangerous thing to try. Stupid actually. He was way to heavy to start. Remember your training, plan your dive and dive your plan. Stay with your buddy, and know your limits. This video has made me apprieciate diving on a whole new level. REST IN PEACE YURI.

  • it's a very sad & disturbing video, but it's also a lesson that nothing "at all" that we do in life no matter how small or insignificant we may feel or think a situation may be or is, or how safe we feel we may be, we should never take anything for granted, especially when your dealing with the laws of mother nature.... i'm not suggesting yuri did this but his over - confidence in his own diving abilities may have doomed him, we will never know, but god bless him... r.i.p. yuri...

  • True but we lessen risks by not deliberately putting ourself in dangerous situations like diving.

    RIP though, very sad.

  • Duuur! Narcosis can occur at a depth a lot less than 100ft, many factors can contribute to narcosis, depth being only one of them!

Get your facts right before you make statements like this one. And please have the decency to warn any potential buddies that your diving knowledge leaves a lot to be desired, it may save THEIR life!

  • thats right, i have seen narcosis affect people by simply shutting down their motor control systems, then no longer having the ability to correct their boyancy(even if they are still thinking straight)they simply fall over and sink. this is why you don't rush into doing things you've never done before, you take steps until you know how the depth will affect you.

but unfortunately, accidents happen matter what your experience level. when diving, accidents often have much worse consequences

    RIP

  • But 2rosghost, if it is because of Narcosis, then why does both of his feet seems sort of amputated?

  • Aquatic life have been feeding on the body and as the bones in the feet are so small once the connecting tissues were gone they would have washed away. If the hands are exposed and not under the weight of the body they are probably gone as well. And no, I'm not talking about a shark when I say aquatic life.

  • Why won't it show??? It is stuck on downloading... :(

  • Demwkki limitleri fazla zorlamamak lazım...

  • sleeps with the fishes ;)

  • When a human imitates a fish a human becomes a fish.

  • Hi every one

My name is Bader Gh 12 years as diver

Blue hole is very dangeros place for beginners

This is Barbara body after a few years

Yuri Lipski body was incinerate by family and his ashes was spread in Blue hole

YES all the accidents are cause first by nitrogen (narcosis)and second by the oxigen toxicity at over 1,6 (a diver become unconscious almost instant) very very dangerous

    is tragic

    God bless all

  • what causes narcosis to happen?

  • Nitrogen under high pressure at depth will cause it, but the exact mechanism isn't entirely understood.

  • i'm still convinced it was extreme nitrogen narcosis, which would result in him unwillingly acting stupid and gooing zoom to the bottom. and since he has obvs stopped breathing does that not mean that by the time they found him the nitrogen would all be out of his body so they can't prove it was this? im no expert on the narcosis i just know about it as all divers should.

  • che dire... senza parole!!!...

  • When we look for the death.

    We die.

    CMAS ***

  • That is a very frightening sight. I dive and all my friends dvie. Its not something any diver wants to see...

  • i am never going to have a bath again. to deep

  • Omg...im scared to go there.. imagine, your swimming along and then BOOM! you see that! and it moves1 AHHH!

R.I.P. May Lord Be With you....
