As with almost all music, the lyrics are there to add structure and an additional dimension to the song. The lyrics are slurred and impossible to understand, but really, they don't have to be understandable. The feel is imparted and that's what is important.

I guess, what it needs to be compared to is Lewis Carroll's Jabberwocky. Who knows what the fuck any of it means, but you get the gist and the image just from reading a bunch of gibberish.
