  • Cus in America you fucking can

  • It's kinda like a version of a Geneva Mechanism. They're used in film projectors for moving the film pausing moving pausing but using a continuous motor.

  • same thing an electric airsoft gun use's.. gears pull back the piston till it hit a flat spot, the sprin forces the piston forward, it compress's air.. the air then forces a 6mm plastic BB down a barrel..

about the only use I've ever seen, other then a locking ratchet, or fishing reel... :-o

  • Why am I not writing my essay?

  • يا بثرك

  • Is Ohio State University a special needs school? Is it any wonder why a lot of engineers are from different countries.

  • Read the goddamn description, people.

  • pmsl i was mesmerized till the video stopped :L

  • haha pingpong.

  • Häh?

  • I thought it was moving by itself... HURRRGH.

  • Thats trippy

  • the point of the machine is to create a regular motion at equal intervals.

  • I wish we could get a closeup.

    Lovely mechanism!

  • I fear for the life expectancy of the first teeth hit after the pause.

  • @YTBYlover It's not actually the teeth that start the 2nd gear turning again though, it's the flat lever thing that extends off of it (which looks much sturdier and possibly replacable)

  • you guys are assholes, its an art, what have you done lately, oh yes you were just watching youtube commenting on other's videos. And why I always get red underscore under YOUTUBE , doesn't youtube know that youtube is a name of this website? come on youtube.

  • @ssslawek Would you like some cheese with that whine?

  • @Partykurt yes,please

  • Pointless enoght so thumbs up!!!

  • ...How did i get here?

  • @Partykurt Who do you think you are? Desmond the moon bear?

  • what;s the point to that? Cool stuff.. but why!?

  • @nomainreason If you ever need something to spin 360 degrees, stop for 2 seconds, and then repeat, this mechanism will do the trick. Some people may find this useful for projects, such as Automata.

  • @nomainreason you know the geeks answer already. "Because we can!"

  • @nomainreason Why not?

  • @nomainreason Why not?

  • @nomainreason cuz this actually blends

  • A lovely demonstration. It would be nice to know that it was made with very basic tools, but I imagine very sophisticated machinery was involved. Yes?

  • these are fun, can't wait to see the show!
