story wasnt that bad. a little rushed in some parts. patrokols development was kinda quick, the side cast came and went in seconds, the thing i hate most is the stiff story boards. like they ran out of money so they stuck with those. but it is what it is. some people call this ending kinda cheesy and incest, but I don't see-*song starts playing* I feel uncomfortable now...

You know, I actually prefer the multi-character cinematic endings from SCIV and Tekken 6; at least they provide you with a backstory of the rest of the characters in the cast. Viola, was she Amy in the past? Xiba, Natsu, Leixia, where did they come from? Zwei, why did he have a grudge with Graf Dumas? It'd be great if Namco could have the main arc + these side stories so at least we have an incentive to play the rest of the cast and have some questions answered.

everybody should stop complaining about the story. It was trying to teach you that you can't let other people(or magic swords) tell you how to live your life. You have to make your own decisions, and even if later you regret them, YOU will learn from YOUR mistakes. That's how humans work. Decide what's important in your life and act accordingly.

Truth about this game is that the story seemed too short,and not enough character interaction and character development.Even though half of the original cast is gone,it is what it is,so get over it people!!At least they still kept some and brought some back.All in all,a scale from 1-10 for this game,I would give it a 7,just because I'm a fan of SC.This one definitely lacks content.I guess this is just the concept of "new beginnings". Not dwelling on the past,and just move on...

I thought like in all the Soul Caliburs games you had to fight some form of soul edge. it took me by surprise that you had to fight soul calibur in the end, although it makes perfect sense. it was supposed to be the holy sword to seal it but in the end it was no better than soul edge.

the story was too simple for my taste. Not enough character interaction imo and I don't enjoy the sole pov of patroklos. The staple of fighting games story mode was the multiple endings. Although only one ending is canon, it fun to see alternative endings. And wasn't a fan of removing half the cast. I don't mind adding a new generation, but namco could have atleast pulled another tekken and keep the 1st gen chars. It's a large disservice to fans to remove the characters they liked.

And this is what you get with being straight to the point and having fights that last for only 10-15 seconds long per round on average. It makes TOTAL sence why this was short if you are skilled enough. I like this story mode since it is more central plot rather than the one for the custom character in SC3 and generally the ones for each character because only ONE ending is cannon the rest of what happens is revealed in the next game. Plus we don't have a cheating final boss. (yay)

Also, I figured out that Elysium is like Nightmare. She's the physical (non sword from) of Soul calibur. And Soul calibur isn't necessarily good. She wants justice, no matter what.

And Nightmare and Inferno are the same person, in a sense. Inferno is Soul Edge, and Nightmare is the current host for soul edge/The body of armor soul edge uses.

But yeah, Elysium is, essentially, soul calibur.

That is NOT Sophitia is just an illusion created by Soul Caliber to try to trick Patroklos in killing her sister to eliminate Soul Edge.Since the swords are both alive and are obsest in killing each other. In the end both swords are wrong in diferent ways and you come to see that good and evil are not really diferent from each other when it come to making humans there slaves to do what they want without no matter what.

The men are scantily clad instead of the women. Look at Voldo, Algol, Maxi, ZWEI, etc.

Most of the hot women (except Ivy) were taken out of the game, like Taki, Setsuka, Shura, Mina, etc.

The story mode is chock full of EMO. All of it simply... well SUCKS lol.

The soundtrack exudes overall femininity.

And the lack of a truly threatening final boss is simply the cherry on top. The Soul series has never had such a weak "boss"
