For those that didn't watched this episode it may not be obvious that both teams were trying to lose because the team that advances has to play more baseball and spoils their summer. This may not be obvious in this video because the audio was replaced with music. Having said that I bet there actualy was a kid in a baseball team that kepted advancing but the kid had other plans for the summer and was getting spoiled due to advancement.
