  • Less bias with this report than with the environmental so-called experts. The much bigger 1979 Mexican Gulf had little to no effect shortly afterwards. And it was bigger and took almost a year to plug. Never thought oil might be beneficial for oysters but this seems to be supported with more science than the dire predictions from the unreliable experts that say natural crude oil is toxic and nature is able to recover much quicker than the sensationalists predict. Crude oil is natural too.

  • This is from the American Petroleum Industry (salute here). Everyone knows that it's only foreign oil that's bad for the environment.

  • The same era where cigarettes are portrayed as stylish and trendy. Complete propaganda.

  • What a bunch of BS propaganda. I suppose they figure if they can BS us once, they can BS us again, and again, and again, and again, and again..........

  • @AceLockCo unfortunately they can BS us over and over again, I won't be surprised if BP get's bail out money at some point, because too many british retirees have all their cash invested in this shit company.

  • Great find. Thank you.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

  • sounds like a bunch of propaganda and cover-ups from the big oil company

  • As far back as the 1960's the Big Oil has denied that their oil pollution has any negative impact on the environment, specifically on the Louisiana oyster industry!

They even mentioned one of the possible culprits could be attributed to "Climatic Changes". Global warming back then? Naw!

  • Hmmm... What's next? Duck and cover? Sounds brilliant to me. :/

  • Hmmm. I guess they 'forgot' to mention that it makes the oysters toxic to eat.

  • This is just sad...

  • 2 million dollars for research, au gratis to the oyster industry, is what the petroleum industry calls "the cost of doing business". Just like having Limbaugh on three stations at once, in the same market, is the cost of doing business.

  • oh, that's twisted and funny. "They never had it so good." I'll queue that up tomorrow.

  • BP is doing a feasibility study to decide if they should do a study this time around ..

  • Back then the people believed in our corporations, and the economy grew. Now, Migley the Cow is a typical American, believing companies can do no good. Soon enough we'll see that government can do no good either, and we'll finish killing this country.

  • @alexpasch Yeh, "back then" when "our" corporations weren't international? It's very easy to get the idea that "companies can do no good" when it's clear that they would whore out their own mothers to satisfy their greed!

Soon enough, we'll see the results of corporate control of our government, which certainly optimized their profits, while screwing the American public royally..

I'm tired tired tired of the Republicans screwing the country and then whining about it.

  • @IvanLouiseBiggin .....I'm tired about Democrats whinning about Republicans & then screwing the country

  • @alexpasch Back then people were stupid and obviously many still are.

You are correct that corporations have about killed this country and poisoned its people. They have been doing so for generations, all over the world.

  • @alexpasch

MNCs are essential in today's globalized world. They often work more efficient, and cost effective, and better at standardizing product&worker safety protocols.

With that said, I believe there needs a balance and a boundary. MNCs literally spend billions in LOBBYING(or bribing) around the world, which almost always profit them at the cost to the people. Oligopoly certain doesn't help.

So, can you do anything other than childish name calling and thoughtlessly recite Fox News?

  • decided to add a number - 2 million dollars in 1960 are worth about $15 million dollars today

    so they spent $2M for

    1. a shack down by the beach

    2. three water tanks

    3. a flask of crude oil?

wait...they probably donated 900K to Texas A&M, another 900K on "commission" for those clowns in lab coat, all makes sense now.

Great video, how did you manage to find such a classic clip Gurthang?
