C5 is not a Citroen car, it's a PSA car with audi-volkswagen conventional design.

Today,there is no equivalence of the hydropneumatique self-leving supension (xantia for an exemple)

I can't speak for the Peugeot or the Laguna since I've never driven them but the C5 is definately a great car. I've got one, a Tourer Exclusive and I'm very happy with it, a big improvement on my Citroen C5 which offered fair comfort but not a lot of 'driving pleasure". Still, my GF has always appreciated the "driving comfort" it offers, not only to the driver but also to the passengers, which is probably the great PLUS for French cars vs German cars: the passenger also loves it.

I think saying that citroens are more reliable than peugeots are a bit of a joke..both citroen and peugeot share the same parts,engine,platform..etc

the main difference is the hydropnematic suspensions they have on citroens..which need a bit of care..and of course that will make the c5 far more comfortable than its sister the 407..

Yes both Citroen and Peugeot share the same components,....(PSA).

However, that doesn`t mean that everything is the same in terms of quality of production at least not in practise. I`ve seen a lot of car quality research and Citroens were always better, so.....

Peugeot 407

Renault Laguna

I have had a peugeot and i bought a C5 in my opinion C5 is the Best choice It is very confort and have a lot tech.

i been using Renault and Peugeot in a very hot country since Y2K in all rods

407 has the best AC, breaks, handling and can go 10 years with good condition

Citroen is good car but not for a hot desert country's it nice in euro

Agree. I owned renault laguna II from 2001. year. And interior parts started to make wierd noises when going over the bumps. My dealer said its because of the constant 30+ °C temperatures and dry weather. Plastic inside simply gets so dry its starts to fall apart

Have you heard about all electrical and engine problems that 407 and other Peugeot models have? I just don't trust other French trademarks but Citroen. Not that Citroen makes the best cars but compared to Renault and Peugeot their cars end up to be the most reliable, best quality, originality...(some are a bit ugly I agree but that it's changing), give you less headache, just take a look at ciao web page...and read the costumers reviews. By the way I've got a Citroen..naah...it's just a joke :D

C5 is the best of those tree, 2nd laguna, and the last one 407...in my opinion... even though these cars are a bit expensive..

just think like this...when the 407 was launched? in 2004....at that moment citroen c5 was an ugly car, an renault Laguna bad an ugly like allways....nowadays the 407 is the oldest, the new c5 is 2008 model, laguna 2008 model....so...when the 408 will be launch...will smash them all....for me , in this moment i put the 407 in first place, c5 second....adn laguna off the podium(it's ugly and bad)...by the way i have a 407 and S320(both diesel engines)

Are you sure ? C5 and the new laguna just came out...I do u know that ? Just because 407 looks more planted, more aggressive, doesn't mean it really is...Actually did u know that the old Mondeo (2002-2006) had a lot better chassis than Mercedes's c class and BMW's 3 series...Honda Acord..and some others...??? and it's really big...u wouldn't say it...I'm not sure if it was the e clase or the c one...anyway...just watch old TGear and u will see. This weekend they start a new series! TOP GEAR!!!
