I don't think it would be a very good idea to send my antique roll to someone I don't even know. I'd rather get my piano fixed, but it is hard to find people who know how to fix these.
This is actually a tune called "Sally Lou." Probably the most famous version was played by Ferd Grofe, an old time roll arranger and top pianiist. But from what I can hear, this may be a different or better version, which would be an important discovery.. Perhaps you could send your roll to someone with a working piano?
No ... it isn't a Taste of Honey ... I got this mixed up with a different vid I took. No. I'm am sorry I cannot fix the sound. The piano sounds great in real life, but right now the piano is broken ... so this is all there is. Sorry.
Please post another video of it with better audio quality. The picture doesn't have to be better, but the sound REALLY matters.
Thanx.
P.S. I don't think this is "A Taste of Honey", which is by the Tiajuana Brass and is a 1960s tune. This roll in your video is a great 1920s tune that I don't recognize.
Could you please possibly fix this? It's a wonderful roll, unique in fact, and many of us fanciers would love to hear it better. It's not at all that hard to redo this.
a tip to record piano music with a handycam/photocamera is placing the camera at some distance from the piano and taping a piece of piano felt or player piano leather over it's microphone to dampen the sound.... I did this in my video of the roll 'Moya Maruschka'
