Hey guys, I just got this pedal and plugged it in and When it's turned on I get no sound out of my amp at all. When it's turned off I get sound normally. Anyone know what's up? Help please!
To people saying it shouldn't be clicking... Yes, it is supposed to click like that. He's constantly turning it on and off, that or almost turning it on and off. It'll make that sound with every stompbox/pedal that you use, try turning it on without having it click
is it normal for when your'e done playing it and you (switch to another pedal for example) after you click the toe to move it back and forward to click the toe again?
i was about to buy this pedal when i started researching it further and found out about the whole tone sucking thing....however, i dont understand what is meant by the tone getting sucked.....does it have somthing to do with the pedal not being true bypass? plz help
its ok wit distortion if u use a distortion pedal it messes up tha volume when u dont step on the pedal and just leave tha wax pedal all tha way up but when u press it all tha way dow it gets real loud. if your lookin for a good pedal thats made for distortion definitly go wit zakk wyldes or evh wah pedal there amazing
tell your dad that the evh wah has a more vocal-like High Q inductor and a wider frequency sweep. Also with the Evh the mid-range is much more defined than the original cry baby and the low-end sweep is increased. Believe me, the EVH wah is much more than an original cry baby with a different paint job
@harrymessi tell him he is a twat and beat the shit out of him, then plug the wah in to his ass and smash the guitar over his head! that should do the trick, let me know how it goes
that has a powerful wah sound...my vox seems weaker than that..the first wah i ever had when i was 13 was a dunlop Jimi Hendrix wah and think i remember that being like yours...i wonder why my vox isnt as powerful?
@adris8 - It's the pedal hitting gently off the metal switch. Most Wah pedals do this, but if you get the GCB95(Q) series it turns on and off when you put your foot on it's surface, or take it off!!!
That pedal would be handier I suppose and you wouldn't have that clicking sound, but playing loudly...you wouldn't hear it anyway!!!
It's just as bad as true bypass. A buffered bypass (like on this pedal) actually pushes your signal as it goes through the pedal. If you have true bypass, it's like having a long cable, which also eats your top end. It really doesn't matter as long as you like the pedal.
hello, today i got the dunlop cry baby wah. directly after i puted in the 9 volt battery. i plugd my guitar in and played (im using a squier stratocoaster classic vibe 60' and a line6 spider3 15w amp). but i have two problems: the wah is working fine but when i play on clean and i press down the wah pedal (the aaa sound ) its sounds really hard and if i turn on the volume its hurts my ears.
my ohter problem is when i put on distortion an overdrive and i tap (van halen style) and i push my wah open (the whhh sound) i almost can't hear the notes
its maybe hard to understand because engish is not my langauge but i just wanted to know wats going on and except for those two little problems its a very fine pedal
Hey, I've got a question. I switvhed my DS-2 Turbo distortion to DS-1 mode and put the distortion all the way down. When I play with my distortion the wah pedal barely effects the sound if any at all. Do you know what's wrong?
oh, thanks dude for posting this video, i was in the store the other say questioning if i should get this wah pedal(they didnt let me test it! lol) now i know im getting it... its awesome!
I NEED HELP! im thinking of buying either or wah pedel or a whammy pedel, please messege me on your opinion anyone who has played either of them, my playing style is rage against the machine/ RHCP/ audioslave/
how are whammy pedals jokes?? loads of famous guitarists use them, jack white, tom morello, steve vai, joe satriani, the edge, jimmi page, dimebag darrell, kirk hammett and john frusciante,,, they wouldnt use them if they were jokes,, okay i admit, no guitarist would go without a wah but still...
The classic has a fasel inductor (I think) for more vintagey tone. This is a great wah for versatility, but if you want an extremely classic-voiced wah, I'd go for the classic. Thanks for watching :)
and if you want a really flexible sounding wah get the 95Q it has a q control ( the intenseness of the wah ) so you can get a classic and a newer sounding wah but it isnt as classic as the originall
I always put my distortion, overdrive or fuzz in FRONT of my wah pedal... because I can't get it to sound good if I put the wah in front of the distortion... But that makes the distorion a little less agressive.
I agree, both are very common ways of doing it, this is just the order that works best for me. I rarely use the DS-1 anymore (until I get it modded by Keeley), so that's not a problem.
Depends what you like... Crybaby has more classic tones, the weeping demon has a lot more flexibility and setting if you like to tweak your wah sound.
how much would this cost in canadian dollars? i am willing to buy one but im not sure how much the price is.. and im really scared if its like 119 like a wylde pedal or slash pedal please reply back
nice... just saying that jimi hendrix used an original(standard) crybaby the only thing his custom one does is add the fuzz but however you like it i guess.
Right, that was before Crybabies were made by Dunlop, the vintage ones were made by Thomas Organ. I think there are 2 Hendrix models, one w/ fuzz and one w/o fuzz
I think you can get one of these for around $60, but I would recommend getting a Fulltone Clyde Standard Wah (around $215) or a Crybaby Classic (around $100 I believe). Both of them sound much better than this wah, due to the quality of the pots used.
yea, i was also looking at the classic, that looked pretty sweet too, the fulltone clyde standards a little pricey for me though lol. thx for the advice :)
that sounds really great man!! I got that same Boss pedal and pretty soon ill be gettin a wah pedal. But how much was that lil tiny chord connecting the wah and distortion? I wouldnt think it would be too much
This is the crybaby GCB-95 wah, the most common probably. If you are looking for the best you can get, I would reccommend ordering a wah from Robert Keeley,or a Teese RMC wah.

adris8 2 years ago
Its just the potentiometer moving up and down. At any decent volume you won't be able to hear this, and it doesn't come through the amp.
weirdotis 2 years ago
@weirdotis Yeah, it's going down, but not fully pressed, that's why there is a little noise...

its the treadle moving on the potentiometer. Doesn't come thru the amp but you can hear it at low volumes.
weirdotis 2 years ago
how do u get the wah to sound so full with the ds-1? I have the same 2 pedels and my wah is barely coming through the distortion.
dude9521 2 years ago
yeah, the key is to run the distortion low, and use a OD pedal in front of it to boost it. Once you turn the DS1 up, barely any wah gets through.
