  • Sorry Kanye...

    Not feeling it.

  • Um..

    No.

  • for all the hipsters who are talking about Kanye straight jacking this song, if you can't appreciate just how much Kanye added / changed the track, and it's emotional resonance in context of his album and even outside it....maybe you're not as good listeners as you think you are? Bon Iver was on the track himself, anyway. I think hey're both solid pieces; they mean totally different things.

  • just had to spit that bull shit at 0:12

  • this is painful

  • WHO would've THUNK.

  • Why in the hell these folks on here always talking about some bon iver.. ok we get that this is a piece of his music. Kayne brought light to it, I'm pretty sure Bon iver saying this fuck shit.

  • a single tear just rolled down my cheek

  • Featuring Bon Iver?? FEATURING Bon Iver?!?!

  • FUCK YOU KANYE WEST

  • this sucks ass, why the fucking auto tune man?

  • What just happened?

  • Yo Justin, Imma let you finish....

  • Love Bon Iver, but I cry a little when I hear Justin Vernon sing with auto-tune. (And yes I know it was auto-tuned for Woods)

  • This should be called "Bon Iver Wood Ft. Kanye West"

  • This should be called "Bon Iver Wood Ft. Kanye West

  • Bon Iver wonderful artist and gayfish?????????????

  • @Udovica69 sorry man I typed that comment to the wrong person! :)

  • @Udovica69 hahahah you got owned dumbass. how does it feel?

  • I adore Bon Iver so much. he makes auto tuning graceful

  • This song is just fucking stupid.

  • @27ChristianD

Then don't listen to it? Moron.

  • @Failure48 That was the first time I listened to it and haven't listened to it since. Dick.

  • The only reason i like this song is because of Bon Iver!!!

  • Also, that's Justin Vernons voice in this song.

  • Its funny how so many people are hating on Kanye West, but they have no idea how great this album was. Also, this is not what the song sounds like, the original song, OFF THE ALBUM sounds 100% better than this shit. This album will be winning a lot of awards this year....A LOT! Kanye West is a musical genius, and you Bon Iver fans should be great full a RAPPER sampled a INDIE song. Where else do you hear that at? NOWHERE! Kanye West continues to broaden his horizons.

  • @stephengerondakis The show goes on. Lupe Fiasco copied modest mouse... Jason derulo copied the Verve. Happens all the time. Indie bands never get their due credit

  • @supersheep23 The Show Goes on was a mainstream song, great lyrics, not so good instrumental. Modest Mouse is my fav band, and I dont mind that someone sampled Float On, just if they say Show Goes on is better, well, they are dead wrong. Im all for sampling, but please do it well, and West has done well.

  • @stephengerondakis He USED to be a great rapper, he just big sell-out now.

  • @ReleaseDaGoo this is his best fuckin album. hes a genius,no other rapper has got vision like him. to call him a sellout is fucking reatarded. what about him is a sellout. why would he need to sell out huh, explain. he does what he wants because he wants, he cant sell out cos he has nothing to sellout to. this is fucking vision. thts what this album is. nothing in the last decade has compared to this.

  • @JiMMyJaM08061991 I know right? the man's brilliant, he made money... that does not equal sell-out. he made money because he is a goddamn musical genius

  • @ReleaseDaGoo its not selling out, its buying in

  • Kanye West fail.

  • You listen to Bon Iver cause Indi is your type of music, then some of your the kids at school are like wow Bon Iver is good, only because it got all fucked up with Kanye West... seriously...? no cool

  • DUBBYA DUBBYA DUBBYA DOT AUDIO FIX DOT COM!

  • i like it

  • Kayne Imma let you finish, but Bon Iver's version is the best version of all time.

  • @ilikekerby KanYe is his name

    douchebag!

  • @BELAURINROD typo big deal.

    gtfo.

  • kanye and justin are incredibly talent in their own way.

  • Half these comments are ridiculous! People get over yourselves. You guys are acting like Justin didn't have a say in this. Obviously he did, so he had to have at least liked it. So everyone please calm down and realize this is actually a good some maybe not as good as the original, but its not as horriable as some people make it out to be. If y'all don't like this go listen to All of the Lights or something. Its my fav of his right now. Creature fear is my fav by Bon Iver. XD

  • fuckin great. and i love how hes giving othe rup and coming artists a platform to convey their skills like bon iver, he was big but this is a big co sign. and he put bon iver in many different situations on the album to show what they could do props man

  • Kanye blows. He can't write for shit and his rap is weak. Justin is always amazing though. Fuck Kanye.

  • this is a slowed down version or something. doesn't song as good as the original, but still a great song

  • I guarantee the only reason Justin Vernon did this "collarboration" was to buy/smoke some rediculously great weed, can't blame him there.

  • @markjlombardo you guarantee this?

  • I hate this. I hate this so much. Before now I didn't think it was possible for me to hate anything Justin had anything to do with. I wanna cry.

  • what a shame, woods was a great song :(

  • @jed196 what a shame, your abortion failed

  • wohoo justin vernon!

  • this is pretty cool. i love bon iver and im glad he's getting his name out there. fuck all of you pretentious cocks, you'd think if you liked the music so much you'd be happy to know that the person who put it out is getting their dues.

  • good on justin vernon for taking advantage of the opportunity to collaborate with one of the biggest music names of our generation on a track. he knew he'd elicit a ridiculous 'he sold out' response from some misguided fans but these opportunities to broaden your experience don't come around daily. seriously if the worst thing mr vernon does in his music career is this wonderfully unique and interesting track..

  • why bon iver... why?!

  • I'm SOOOO disappointed in Justin.

  • i really don't like this.

  • im tired of people saying kanye messed up this song, no he did not. he gave it more life if you ask me. and for the people saying he doesnt belong on a song WITH bon iver? just remember Kanye in the pantheon of music is higher up than bon iver. bon is great dont get me wrong but kanye has been doing it for over a decade strong

  • i like this version better for some reason

  • 68 people are Bon Iver fans.

  • @Shad0wninja911 do you honestly think you're being creative by saying that?

  • Not gunna lie, I like this new production. I LOVE that Justin Vernon is so recognizable nowadays that he is on a frickin KANYE WEST album. Props to Justin.

P.s. - The original "Woods" will always be the best version though (including the his Volcano Choir remix) :X

  • ahhhh it makes me feel all nostalgic man

  • Pure Genius!!!

  • Yeah, I'm not even gonna listen to this. As a massive Bon Iver fan, I don't give a shit if Kanye is using Woods; I'm completely behind Justin for doing this. He evidently wanted to, and more people need to know about him. If you were actually a fan of Justin's you'd want more people to witness his complete genius.

  • @DDUP101 Lame! I'm sure a lot more people are aware of Bon Iver. And I also state that Bon Iver's music is ingenious on it's own. That's what happens what good music. It gets sampled and created into different versions. You're disrespecting Kanye and Justin for not listening to a new creation that he was a part of and respected. Lame!

  • this album is one of my favorites by kanye, it's just so raw lyrically, and he doesn't hold back anything! it's awesome. to see bon iver (justin vernon more than the band) get the recognition he deserves in the somewhat mainstream music scene is fantastic. amazing song, great combination, and all the haters can go listen to their other shitty music. kanye is bending boundaries in hip-hop, and for that, we should be grateful. long live kanye, and all the other real artists out there.

  • Shouts out to Kanye west Big sean Duce Mino and Cyhi this year is G.O.O.D Music

  • incredible

  • Listen to Woods - Bon Iver, Still - Volcano Choir, and this, in that order. Interesting progression, huh. Rock on, Justin Vernon.

  • Yeah, fair dos to all of you who say Kanye is a respected, talented artist. But there's no use slating those of us who just prefered Woods the way it was. It's not because we're pretentious or because we think we're so cool and indie. We just liked it the way it was. Nothing against Kanye, just not our type of music.

  • @Tessnesss Disrespect is not cool in either direction. There some that's slamming Kanye or remaking a great song. Neither party should get slammed. It's good music all around. And that's a great compliment to someone's work is when someone creates a unique rendition of it and the original artist is a part of it. Good music all around.

  • Fuck this is fantastic

  • RIP woods

  • @cr3wzy one of my fave songs :) I think it's the simplicity of it that gets me x

  • the only thing i dont like is the voiceover every know and then advertising that website. i prefer this version, but i know people who hate it. perspective, folks.

  • what movie/show do I recognize this song from?

  • @kaulitzlvr Skins !!!!!!

  • @ghost4151 oooh, THANK YOU! it's been frustrating not to know

  • kanye ruined this song.

  • @Gunnerss09 How the hell did he ruin this song?

  • I think I might cry! Leave it to Kanye west to completely mutilate such a beautiful Bon Iver song...What an obnoxious, arrogent, untalented shadow of what a true artist should be. AKA bon iver.

  • @snowblower81

if you cry your a complete pussy, your also a wannabe hipster who probably uses the term "hipster" positively. grow up Kanye is respectable and makes great music. Im guessing you think Bon Iver is not well known and you think your one of the only people that like them, but they are so well known and not that great. I bet you don't even know who recited the poem at the end of the song.

  • The only reason I checked this song out, was to see what hand Bon Iver played in helping Kanye West figure out what music is and what the "Fish Dicks" joke means.

  • Kanye is an artist, his music is post modern hes revolutionizing his sound, Just like Van Gogh people didn't understand what he was all about at the time but looking back in 100 years or so he will be a legend.

  • @freesoul1124 people dont understand kanye west? hes fucking massive. Van gogh couldnt even live of the money from his paintings, what a terrible comparison.

  • youre missing a W there sir.

  • what da fuck

    this is shit!

  • fucking advertisement in the middle of a song what the fuck.

  • what part is bon ivor

  • @doublephantom2

    Bon Iver:

    watch?v=tZYVJlhnqxQ

  • i like bon iver, and i hate that kanye spoiled his voice with the fucking shitty auto tune, proof kanye cant be successful without it

  • @StrangeJady Kanye was at his peak WITHOUT autotune. So what are you talking about?

  • @StrangeJady actually this sample is from bon iver's album and the song is called "woods" ...the song is fully autotuned on bon iver's album.

  • @StrangeJady if you listened youd hear kanye didnt even use autotune in this song bon iver did though, cause it samples an old bon iver song where he uses autotune

  • Kayne west is a great rapper, and I'm completly obsessed with Bon Iver. Is this both of their best songs? Absolutly not. But it's interesting to see the combination. Kayne actually has really great taste in music clearly!

  • This song is shittttty shit. What the fuck. I hate Kanye. I hate autotune. Come on now Bon Iver, you have so much more talent. This is just noise.

  • @Pinupblonde13 This is just a bad mish mash of two songs. Look up Bon Iver's 'Woods' and 'The Wolves Act 1 and 2' You'll see they touched on autotune and it's actually pretty good.

  • @Pinupblonde13 how is this just noise?

  • i remember wen this song was on skins in the episode were effy is high on shrooms and it was soo weird and creepy and i loved it im glad its been remixed still got that weridness but has a good beat :) <3

  • This was in Skins?

  • dont get me wrong i DO really like this song... ive pressed replay like 20 times

but i cant help but wish it was a tad less george of the jungle

  • The most powerful song in the album... For me.

  • Bon Iver is amazing. Its not the voice that makes the music great but the way its layered and produced. This just aint the same as the other stuff. Stick to your genre. Good song tho. still very unique

  • this is sum tune hi best 2010 2011 song big time

  • Ahh, this song is amazing. The lyrics are on point, the beat is dope, and the hook is fantastic. Mad props to Kanye doin his thang. And great excert from that song "The Woods." All around a flawless song in my opionin.! P.S-Haters Get On Ya Job, It's Motivation. ;)

  • Hey I have been a Bon Iver fan for a while but still like this a lot. Fair enough, some intimacy was lost but it's not like the original has been erased. We can listen to both. I think that in itself is awesome and good for we Bon Iver fan as it shows his kickass versatility. Besides props to Kanye for giving the original a significant amount of playtime on its own. Much more respect than other sampling like Cudi

  • kanye has one talent and one talent only.

to take good things in this world and when he touches them they turn to complete trash.

    GO AWAY KANYE!

  • fuck yall hatin ass niggas kanye is a fukin jeenyus

  • @keenan201 *genius*

  • i cant say i loved the song itself. but i am a fan of bon iver, and i think its a compliment that the big wigs (not necessarily Kanye) of other genres are beginning to recognize his talent.

  • That was filth

  • oh boy... this is like a mega mash up.

    a bad mega mash up.

  • I just have this problem that the song lost all of the intimacy that it once had, I have no problem with collaboration, even if it isn't my personal preference.

  • I think this song is just as powerful as Bon Iver's own version.

Hipsters need to get the fuck over themselves.

As a fan of both Bon Iver/Justin Vernon and Kanye West, this song just really shows how both artists are experimental and refreshing, breaking genre barriers.

  • This is terrible, and I love Bon Iver.

  • phenomenal!.... absolutely phenomenal!

  • how can you live up to 'for emma, forever ago'? i think this collaboration is actually pretty cool, and a good opportunity for bon iver to show a different dimension to his music. kind of like the track chris martin did with kanye, 'homecoming'. but yeah, i'll stick to bon iver too haha

  • When i heard that bon iver was gonna collaborate with kanye, i thought it was gonna be an amazing collaboration. but this song really is a sell out. LISTEN TO IT!!!! if your a true Bon Iver fan like me, then you know that KANYE WEST BUTCHERED THIS SONG. is sounds like shit. It strays so freaken far away from the original song WOODS its not even cool. TO ALL YOU IGNORANT PEOPLE OUT THERE........

ARE YOU SERIOUS THAT THIS SONG IS ACTUALLY OKAY????? I LIKE KANYE AND BON IVER BUT HATE THIS SONG..

  • @TheTonyrayrufo this isnt the album version, and the album version is much better trust me it does justice to both artists

  • Would sound 1000 times better if it wasn't excessively auto tuned, and if Kanye's voice was removed. Kanye has a fixation with over auto tunning his songs (probably because he cant sing). Listen to that "toast to the shitbags" song, there's a part in it where its so auto tuned it turns into indistinguishable mumbling. Sounds aweful.

  • would sound 1000 times better, if it wasnt excessively auto tuned.... kanye's got an over autotuned fixation. listen to that "toast to the shitbags" song. theres a segment where you dont even know wtf hes saying.

  • All of you talking shit about how Bon Iver is "selling out" or how shit the song is really need to check yourselves. I'm so tired of this bullshit hipster mentality of artists selling out for getting famous.

Bon Iver/Justin Vernon are amazing musicians. They do this not for the money but because they truly love it. They would never do ANYTHING unless they truly believed in it.

If you were truly a Bon Iver fan you would be happy for them getting the recognition that they truly deserve.

  • this song is actually a good song, if bon iver never made "woods" and he just did this song with kanye west...... ppl would not be mad at all........ u have to seperate the two song, there is no way that kanye can ruin the original version, this is just kanye 's interpretation of the song....................................

p.s. to all my indie rock listener..... chill out, we are not hostile group of ppl, we dont let angry or judgement guide us, we let weed, freedom, and music show us our path

  • ok the only thing thats a problem with this link is that the audio crap in the background...bsides that if u dont like kanye part then get over it or get the instrumental

  • Kanye has ruined this song

  • @BMNHSMTV its two different songs

  • Both of them are extremely good at what they do, why wouldn't you collaborate them?!

step outside of your ridiculous stuck up "I'm to good and fancy for THAT music" (when you know you secretly love it) box.

I Do Believe there is a name for people like you.... close minded?

You cant love music and be close minded its just impossible. So go home.

  • @aicsitmlipp For Emma, Forever Ago was one of the most perfect, simple, and heartfelt albums of all time. Kanye West, with millions of dollars of studio time, couldn't do what Justin Vernon did for free by himself alone in a cabin. His Solution: Simply take what people with true talent have done and recycle it.

  • Comment removed

  • @aicsitmlipp Oh CMON, Everyone knows how Kanye acts. If anything the first thought that crossed his mind was "I can do better, because I am better." He's cocky. Your example of appreciation, is invalde.

And I think Justin said yes because, it's a good way for self-promotion, getting an artist like kanye to modify one of his songs, was a good choic career wise. and not just that but it probably was an honor on his behalf too.

But I'm not gonna agrue I like both verisons.

  • @xXAmoureuVII Are you kidding me? Everything in your comment had to do with character deffects and media and self promotion and bla bla bla. I WOULD HOPE you already know Justin is not making music for fame... its in the man's soul, that's why every song you hear by him is made with such passion. AND as for Kanye, who gives a shit about his cocky attitude? Whether you like him or not, it doesn't dismiss the fact that he is a good producer and knew what he was doing when he heard "WOODS".

  • @aicsitmlipp It's pretty lame of you to assume it's not ok for someone to have a different opinion than you and not like this. this is fucking awful I'm sorry. I Iove bon iver and I also enjoy kanye west, but this song is just a mess and not in a good way.

  • @manjon217 When did I ever say that it wasn't okay for someone to state their own opinion? Im extremely passionate when it comes to music so I have no problem voicing my opinion on the matter... to each their own. JUST BECAUSE I RESPOND WITH MY OWN OPINION doesn't mean that "it's not okay" for them to voice theirs. I'm simply responding whether it be something I agree on or disagree on and I think that's where you have it confused mate... to disagree does not mean their opinion doesnt matter.

  • Comment removed

  • @manjon217 Non to mention.. don't forget, we're having a discussion through a screen and you can't hear anything I'm saying. Meaning, by you not being able to hear my tone of voice and not knowing who I am, you could easily have my comments confused for some silly little wanker that likes to argue or something of the sort and that's not the case here. I'm pretty bloody humble of a person and I'm extremely mellow. But that's alright mate, just remember this when you "assume" things about others.

  • @aicsitmlipp kayne west is not good at what he does. hes a horrible excuse for a "musician" he cant do a damn thing without a computer. bon iver is FUCKING AMAZING. kayne west is pathetic, lyrically, musically, and as a person hes just an overall fag.

  • @ilikeeverything69 Shows something about Kanye haters that they have to resort to gay-bashing to make a point. This isn't the first time, either.

  • @ilikeeverything69 Do you even listen to any of his music???

  • @ilikeeverything69 Musician doesnt apply to just playing instruments, kanye is one of the best producers/composers of today, he does more with "a computer" than most do with a few instruments, now that doesn't say you can't with just something like a guitar, i.e. Bon Iver, just saying, and try not to sound so stupid next time you post

  • @ilikeeverything69 WOW! Ignorant! You do know he doesnt use a computer right? He doesnt use Fruity Loops or any of that shit. He actually has the people come in and play the instrument. OR he uses a beat machine, which is a lot more complex than you think. Calling him a horrible excuse for a musician is ignorant.

  • badly cut, skipped a good minute of the song... not cool

  • I thought this was beautiful, and I thought Kanye's new album was a masterpiece. I also think Bon Iver makes beautiful music. Maybe I'm one of the few people in this world who appreciates all music. I listen to everything from Kanye to Pavarotti to Bon Iver to A Day to Remember. I don't like how everyone is dissing the song. Take it for what it is: Two almost completely different artist/genre's were mixed and it should be appreciated.. just saying.

  • this isn't the right version. this is slowed down and sounds sucky.

  • he should be sent to jail for butchering this shit

  • @bmac145

lolol. lets calm down now son

  • This really grows on you

  • didn't like it when I first heard it, now I love it it is what it is gotta lot of hate and stupid opinions on here but regardless of how you feel about kanye he is a dope artist period

  • This is completely weak and thievery. It may have been a publicity move for Iver, but Kayne doesn't deserve to be any part of Justin's genius.

  • kanye west F****d bon iver right in the a** How can any one rape such a beautiful song! and how cud bon iver let someone do somethin like that......this song has just ruined my day.........if u guys havent herad the original plz do that! its "woods" by Bon Iver

  • @nusairkhan Dude look at it the wrong way, now you finaly have some good music between the rap/hiphop/autotune busniss. And it also is a good promoting for Bon Iver, now millons of people who only listned to JB and Usher before hear something of Bon Iver. If you still do think this is raping you don't lissen to this anymore and just stick with your one way Bon Iver instead of vary a bit

  • str8 up this song is so sensual

    can't stop hearin it

  • seriously... would you guys rather have lil wayne do the song?

  • 50 Diisliike are Taylor Swift Fans!! Smh

  • @kyree211 51 Diisliike are Bon Iver Fans!! Smh

  • How about you all try to make a few different albums and still have variation... then we'll talk.

  • To all the people attacking this video: imagine if will.i.am did this song?

  • Comment removed

  • actually bon ivers voice is great with autotune
