Lets do some basic math: lets say the sandcastle was made of 200 pieces of sandstone and that a diamond pick and shovel had a durability of 100 blocks each. 200 sandstone x 4 blocks of sand needed = 800 blocks of sand = 8 shovels = 8 diamonds. The pickaxe would just be 200 blocks = 2 picks = 6 diamond. 8 - 6 = 2 a legit player would save 2 diamonds using the pickaxe to get the, already created, sandstone I rest my case, pickaxe is better than shovel
