you are stupid the thing itself is pretty expensive but the books cost from 99 CENTS to 9.99. they are all under 10 dollars which is cheaper than normal books. i got a hard back book that was 250 pages that was 20 DOLLARS. see the difference?

By the time you're at college, things will have changed. They might be relatively inexpensive, and have free downloadable content (perhaps coupled with Google's attempt to add every book ever written to a 'library in the sky').

Other things will have changed too by the time you're at college; I expect you'll be an intellectual force to be reckoned with, for a start :)

I've heard a lot about the Kindle and that color displays will be a future feature.

But I agree with you on your opinions about these readers. Nothing like a hard copy of a book to actually hold in your hands and flip through & put an actual bookmark into. More cost effective too for most of us.
