  • wonderful....I'm a guitar student, working on blue bossa, tune up, just freinds & the like....always looking for ideas (lacking any of my own)....this is wonderful....thanks

  • Thank you very much! Check out Pat's channel, too (Pat Enz). Also have a look at the fantastic Victor van Kampen (jazzguts). Greetings, Jogi

  • EXCELENTE, GRACIAS por este video.

    de Argentina.

  • Gracias, ismaargentina. Do you play, too? Greetings to Argentinia!

  • 00:35 AMAZING.

Me gusta el trabajo del contrabajo.

Ahora creo que en el comienzo la guitarra no matiza muy bien.

    Fantastic Walking Bass!

Un gran saludo, continua grabando canciones.

    Nice, thanks.

  • Hello Argentinia! Thanks for your comment. You make me proud! Greetings, Jogi

  • congratulations your work is very good and, to me, the most important thing is that you were playing with feeling and there were no papers to read. i hate musicians who always read the music and don´t let the feelings the oportunity to show up.

    very good work.

i hope my english doesn't suck.

  • Hello Columbia! Thanks for your nice compliments, laperamala! In fact, I never play from notes because I can't read them. But very often, I play from leadsheets (that is, I read the chord-structure). A musician like Pat often has his own version of a tune, with his own changes, as it is here: the ending of the chorus differ from the Realbook-Version for example. Greetings from Switzerland, Jogi

  • N.B. I think those are the changes from the original recording...

  • First I thought, uh oh, this is some new thang interpretation w/ the intro, though it had passion esp bass...Then you took off and it was great!

  • jazz and Joe Pass style rulez:):)

  • I see some donna lee licks in there, nice Joe Pass style!

    The Bass is awesome too

  • Thx! Have a look (or an ear) on Pat's channel: He's got a sensational version of Donna Lee! Greetings to Spain! Jogi

  • Very well done Jogi! Loved the begining. Very solid playing from start to finish once again! Great job.

    Paul

  • Thanks Paul! I'm not really happy with my intonation (once more), but I'm at ease with the flow of energy and the exchange of ideas. Pat is a very cool cat!

    Jogi

  • Very nice, open beginning with bass playing improvised Statements. later going in a fine swing introducing the Theme, solo's,very nice harmonized lines at the end by Pat.

You guys can read my mind I was practicing this tune to record, I'll go through cause it' will sound very different anyway. Enjoyed very much, swing on Jazz-brothers,greets Vic.

  • Okay, man, I'll be glad to listen to your version of it, my friend!

    Keep tuning it all up!!!
