I'm really wondering about Mattew's feelings fro her, I think he really loves her but he's too scared, she's his " BFF" and she's having his baby, he has every reason to be confused...
I guess that's the last we'll see of Destiny and Matthew. This completely sucks. Doesn't ABC care about how the fans feel about all of this? It's not like there are people that want the show gone.

@PaulB2Kool Yep. I don't know why they decided to have Destiny go through with the pregnancy. This storyline of Destiny being pregnant should have never happened, especially since her and Matthew were never a bona fide couple. The show did wrong by these characters, and I don't like seeing Destiny especially in this vulnerable position of being pregnant and the guy is acting like that toward her.
In the "staying away from Destiny after an argument/disagreement/misunderstanding" category, Matthew is already 0 for 3, lol. Like somebody said, it's as if he can't live without her. He's the reason this conversation went south, and I want him to apologize to her. Make him work for it, Des. Let's make it 0 for 4.

I feel bad though because Destiny really was in love with Matthew and it seemed like she really wanted his baby. IDK because I haven't watched in a while but this must hurt like heck. I'm just randomly thinking about this but I wonder how she would handle it if Jack got Destiny pregnant.
I love Matthew and Destiny, but I still don't understand how they could be so STUPID and not even think about a condom. Seriously? I understand it was like heat of the moment, but it seems like Destiny at least would have thought about it? Or asked him? Also Mat has implied that if Des keeps the baby they should raise it. Bringing up how Greg handed Des off on his parents-- him saying how do you think that will make the child feel? Already he is showing that he cares about his child. Him not wanting to be a deadbeat, proves he is conflicted as writefic said, it shows he is mature enough to know a good man raises his kid. As for the sex Mat is the one who didn't wear a condom/initiated it, that is telling about him. Blaming the girl is sexist.
@alecniles You are upset about a fictional sl for some reason. Here are some factors-Des was going to abort before Nora begged her not to-someone you left out of your blame game. So Matt is in the same place emotionally Des was when she first found out about the pregnancy-his feelings are on point. His feelings can change just like Des' did. Another is Bo and Nora are a supercouple and w/OL ending the writers are giving them a grandkid as closure.
Is one life to live still going to show on the soap network, bc I just read two articles one from july 7 2011 and the other from sep 17 2011 that one life to live will still continue online..one article is called one life to live executive producer signs deal to stay with soap, and the other is all my children one life to live get new life online after finales on abc. I may be wrong but I think I read it right about it being continued. I would love to keep the show running and see MD.
@ghettotymes They had a deal with Prospect Park, but the deal fell through the day after Thanksgiving. So, now it looks like OLTL is finished as of January 13, 2012. :(

As hard as I try to understand both sides in this matter, I can't have too much sympathy for Matt in regards to his attitude because I feel he's been this way for a while. If he didn't want to be in the baby's life, he should've told Des when she gave him the choice at the hospital. But he didn't which leaves me confused as to why he's doing this now. He's BEYOND wrong and he needs to know that!

I have a feeling that something will happen to Des which will trigger her labor and put both her and her baby's life at risk and the possible reality of loosing both her (with whom he knows he can't live without) and the baby will prompt Matt to admit that he loves her and step up and be there for both of them.
@sherrece777 That or maybe David will reveal something similar that happened to the woman that was pregnant with his child. But if they already cast the baby and wanted it to be as small as possible and Destiny have this child before the show ends then the baby is likely to come early at 8 months. I don't trust this show regarding Destiny so I just hope the child doesn't die in the show. Wouldn't that be convenient.
@sherrece777 I agree that I see something happening that will put them at risk. Or he may have to help deliver the baby and the baby will be okay but then Destiny's life is at risking and he's begging not to leave him and their child. I do so see it happening. It's a lot to handle but I think they can work it out. Matthew needs more time and an eye opening event for him to wake to what he could really have and stand to lose if he doesn't "grow up" in this situation. Destiny is the one for him.
@writefic I'm glad you read it. It was heartfelt. I removed several posts only because for me I feel it's a waste of time with some of these ppl. The twisting of "facts" and the double standards are just outragious and the last thing I want to do is get into the same old arguments about how OLTL writers mistreat the black women on this show. It will be over soon so why bother. But I will watch the Matthew and Destiny clips here. Some of the comments I do enjoy including yours.
@alecniles - Also, even though Matt has said he doesn't want to be a dad, he also said he doesn't want to be a deadbeat. Matt is clearly confused and needs sometime to process. Unfortunately, his M.O. is to throw tantrums before he eventually comes to the right decision. (i.e. see the Eddie Ford mess & how he first treated Dani after the breakup). We can agree to disagree, but in my opinion Matt & Des are equally responsible for this baby and I still think they will be okay.
@writefic I think UR projecting-wishful thinking about Matt. UR right we must agree to disagree. I never though Matt's storyline was interesting until Destiny/Darren/Matt triangle. I had hoped they would have not had sex the first time they kissed. I was waiting 4her 2say stop we should wait. She should have teased him. It would have been truer to character, if we watched his sexual frustruation build for months, but she just gave it away.There was no passion/love not even lust, just a release.
@alecniles Matt is 17, which means under the law, he could be tried as an adult for the murder of Eddie Ford. To imply that Matt gave into Destiny because she had been following him around doesn't make sense. Matt certain knew how to say no to sex. He said no when his brother got him a hooker and he said no when Dani asked him to. Destiny knew about both of these situations which might lead her to believe Matt took sex seriously.

In Pennsylvia, 17 year old white boys from wealthy prominant families in Bucks county R NEVER charged as adults for serious crimes. I like Destiny, but deciding 2b a teenage mother is out of character. She is the smart girl w/the good grades who interferred when they were making life changing decisions. It was out of character 2have sex 2cheer him up.Then not correct the mistake w/an abortion.
@alecniles And this is the only thing we can agree on that they wrote Matthew and Destiny out of character when he callously led her to his room without considering the circumstances and when she willingly went. As for the abortion, she considered it was going to go through with it and then was faced with an enormous guilt trip from his mom while he was in a coma. I don't think those are the actions of a girl trying to"trap" someone.
@writefic I think that Destiny was smart enough to interfere in everyone eleses lives when they were going to make life changing decisions. There were times when Matt was in trouble & everyone else thought he was okay, but she proactively made a decision to take action. She's smart enough 2know she has a period every month, & can get pregnant again, at anytime. But THIS TIME, she decides to not be her normal proactive self & take action 2correct the mistake. Her actions were quite telling.

I mean the girl went so far as to get on a plain 2rescue him from another country. Why wouldnt he think he did something wrong, when she was avoiding him? She always been at his beck & call. Lastly, Matthew is a Buchannan. He has the resources 2pay child support & move on w/out complications. His parents will make things financially right for their grandchild. But Destiny will never get what she wants from him. That child will be the victim of a mother's selfishness. It is so trifling when you have to beg a man to be a parent. Ultimately, her birthing or aborting is not his decision, it is hers. She should have had an abortion & moved on. What a disappointment. She is an idiot.

If he had been convicted for killing Eddie Ford, he would have been sent to adult prison, not juvenile detention. He also made an adult decision to have sex. @writefic The married Dads who walk away, pay child support. That is all that can be done. But you can not compare the decision of a married adult to a teenager. Couples marry to build a family. You legitimize your offspring through marriage. It protects them legally. Families w/married parents not only share a life together but a last name. Teenagers don't have the experience or wisdom of an adult. In my state,when a teenager kills someone they go to juvenile detention not prison.
@writefic Lastly, Matthew will grow up, but not at 16. Developmentally, he & Destiny are on point for their age. However, parental intervention was needed, w/this accident. I still love both kids and think they will work it out.

The detectives investigate, the DA brings forth the finding & makes recommendation to a grand jury. Wealthy families contribute to campaigns. The DA listens to their wealthy donors. Those donors wield their influence w/a call 2the DA or over gold at a country club. Bo is a detective & Asa Buchanan was is Father. Matt would not be charged as an adult.

But I see what you're saying. I've been against this pregnancy resulting from "comfort sex" s/l from the start because it's completely out of Destiny's character. Why it was so difficult for the writers to either pair M&D together as a couple or leave them as friends, I'll never understand.

If you had been you would never say that Des is trying to hold on to Matt because when she made the choice to keep the baby she wasn't even sure Matt would be waking up. She made the choice because she felt the same way Nora did, what if Matt didn't wake up or died, the baby would be the only part of him left. Teens R shown how 2 use condoms, BUT R not shown how 2ENSURE they work. Women must monitor the condom 2ensure it stays on. He is not obligated 2parent, if he never agreed. He is only obligated 2pay child support. Sex does not make a relationship. A woman should NEVE basturdizes her child. She is the keeper of her womb, No Man can force a woman to be a mother if pregnant. Like no Woman can force a man to parent a child. Paying child support is not parenting.
I also think that he will come around, it's just not going to happen overnight which again is normal. I loved this episode though, they brought the comedy. Don't hate me guys because I am a HUGE Mestiny fan as you call them, I like that BTW. I'm not mad at Matthew because he has a point. Matthew wasn't able to give his two cents in the keeping baby Buchanan story so he do has a right to his opinions. Is it so bad that he wants to live his life like he thinks he should? And I love how Nora brings him back to reality with "you should have thought about that before you had sex, unprotected at that". So, yes he is upset right now and rightly so.

@Rushalee Destiny dosn't have to be his doormat. She is the one who keeps chasing after him, involved in his business. She had a cute little boyfriend,Darren, who was crazy about her. She took forever to kiss him, but layed down w/Matthew to make him feel better. I was baffled by it all. I was disappointed that she had casual sex w/Matthew. After it happened she was numb, because she knew he was not making love to her, he was relieving himself. He cares about her as a good friend, not a wife.
I watched this and it got me to thinking: why do they mess up all the ir storylines in the show??is it a crime for the s/l to have a happy ending? Esp. With an black character involved? I can understand how Matthew feels. He was in a coma for a long time and as soon as he wakes up he find out he's going to be a teen father. He's probably thinking "My childhood just flew right out the window." I can see how he is overwhelmed and just not wanting to deal with it right now. He's still very much a kid and is kind of handling the news in not such a mature way. He'll come around and they'll make up. They just need to have a few more conversations to iron things out.

The only thing I can say about Mathew is, no he didn't have a say in the matter. But at the sametime he had unprotected sex, just like Nora said when he woke up. I don't think Mathew's character is one to just run off. Guess will see. I hope everything works out.

@blackcobra1981 Destiny didn't breakup with Darren (that's the black boy's name), Darren brokeup with her because she wasn't willing to give her parents a second chance after they lied to her and he didn't think that was right. As for your other post, Des had every right to assume that there was and is more than friendship happening between her and Matt especially since it's what he implied more than once. Remember the 5/16 and 11/30 episodes!!! Des wanted the baby for the same
@blackcobra1981 reasons Nora wanted her to have it. Neither of them were sure that Matt would come out of the coma and both wanted a part of him to be alive just in case he didn't make it. So her decision the have the child had nothing to do with trying to trap Matt as you seem to be implying.
thats what destiny gets. she had a good boyfriend (the black boy) who loved her and treated her like a queen. but she dumbs him for matthew who never love or look at destiny nothing more than a friend. matthew dont owe destiny nothing but to take care of his kid and should be able to see women because he is single. destiny thought having a kid by him, will make him be with her and it doesnt work that way
@blackcobra1981 First of all "the black boy" (SMH) his name was Darren. Destiny did not dump him for Matt. They broke up after he ambushed her with her grandfather/father. He has not been seen since then, She was not trying to get pregnant by Matt he led her to his room. Matt also told her that their night together meant something to him, Before he went in the coma Matt asked her if to give him a chance. He even said he would not hurt her. He also said his feelings did not chance when he woke up
@blackcobra1981 well Matthew did say their night meant something to him, that he cared about her and wouldn't hurt her. then after he wakes up he said that hadn't changed. IMO Des had reason to believe Matthew looked at her more than just a friend.

I don't think Matthew being selfish. Are we forgetting that Matthew just came out of his coma. Destiny had time to think things through while Matthew didn't. Destiny had time to continue to go to school, while Matt didn't. He does haved alot to catch up on containing to school. He still going to have ot work through it because his mother made an decision for him.

Also Mat has implied that if Des keeps the baby they should raise it. Bringing up how Greg handed Des off on his parents-- him saying how do you think that will make the child feel? Is one life to live still going to show on the soap network, bc I just read two articles one from july 7 2011 and the other from sep 17 2011 that one life to live will still continue online..one article is called one life to live executive producer signs deal to stay with soap, and the other is all my children one life to live get new life online after finales on abc. As hard as I try to understand both sides in this matter, I can't have too much sympathy for Matt in regards to his attitude because I feel he's been this way for a while. Or he may have to help deliver the baby and the baby will be okay but then Destiny's life is at risking and he's begging not to leave him and their child. I do so see it happening. It's a lot to handle but I think they can work it out. Matthew needs more time and an eye opening event for him to wake to what he could really have and stand to lose if he doesn't "grow up" in this situation. Destiny is the one for him.

To imply that Matt gave into Destiny because she had been following him around doesn't make sense. Matt certain knew how to say no to sex. I watched this and it got me to thinking: why do they mess up all the ir storylines in the show??is it a crime for the s/l to have a happy ending? Esp. With an black character involved? Speaking of school, I know we won't get to see it, but I've always wanted Des to be valedictorian of the LHS class of 2012. I'm just sayin'.

I can understand how Matthew feels. He was in a coma for a long time and as soon as he wakes up he find out he's going to be a teen father. He's probably thinking "My childhood just flew right out the window." I can see how he is overwhelmed and just not wanting to deal with it right now. He's still very much a kid and is kind of handling the news in not such a mature way. He'll come around and they'll make up. They just need to have a few more conversations to iron things out.

@Rushalee I liked it because of Destiny. She was strong and asking the right questions. I'm glad she was the one storming out and that she was the first one to say, "Don't ever call me!" Stick to your guns, Des! I hope Matthew admits to Bo that he said all the wrong things. I hated everything coming out of Matthew's mouth, but I still love them. This is torture!

I still believe in them. I know I'm just as naive as Destiny is. But Matthew doesn't know he's in love. His head is stuck so far up his ass he can't see past his anger and confusion. But Destiny should be more realistic. No fairytail endings. But they won't give up on each other. They've been thru so much since the beginning. All these months wasted w/o them but there is still time. Let's hang on.

I've been a Mestiny fan snce day 1 BUT I am tired of Matthew playing her. It's been too many times now. Remember she was going to let their night together slide even though she's always been in love with him but he was the one all hype talking about he cared about her and what not but she wasn't trying to get hurt YET AGAIN by him. Now you know they'll probably make up but I'm over jus because he keeps doing the same thing and this is the worst time. Where's Shaun?

The only thing I can say about Mathew is, no he didn't have a say in the matter. But at the sametime he had unprotected sex, just like Nora said when he woke up. I don't think Mathew's character is one to just run off. Guess will see. I hope everything works out.

@blackcobra1981 Destiny didn't breakup with Darren (that's the black boy's name), Darren brokeup with her because she wasn't willing to give her parents a second chance after they lied to her and he didn't think that was right. As for your other post, Des had every right to assume that there was and is more than friendship happening between her and Matt especially since it's what he implied more than once. Remember the 5/16 and 11/30 episodes!!! Des wanted the baby for the same

@blackcobra1981 reasons Nora wanted her to have it. Neither of them were sure that Matt would come out of the coma and both wanted a part of him to be alive just in case he didn't make it. So her decision the have the child had nothing to do with trying to trap Matt as you seem to be implying.

thats what destiny gets. she had a good boyfriend (the black boy) who loved her and treated her like a queen. but she dumbs him for matthew who never love or look at destiny nothing more than a friend. matthew dont owe destiny nothing but to take care of his kid and should be able to see women because he is single. destiny thought having a kid by him, will make him be with her and it doesnt work that way

@blackcobra1981 First of all "the black boy" (SMH) his name was Darren. Destiny did not dump him for Matt. They broke up after he ambushed her with her grandfather/father. He has not been seen since then, She was not trying to get pregnant by Matt he led her to his room. Matt also told her that their night together meant something to him, Before he went in the coma Matt asked her if to give him a chance. He even said he would not hurt her. He also said his feelings did not chance when he woke up

@blackcobra1981 well Matthew did say their night meant something to him, that he cared about her and wouldn't hurt her. then after he wakes up he said that hadn't changed. IMO Des had reason to believe Matthew looked at her more than just a friend.

I don't think Matthew being selfish. Are we forgetting that Matthew just came out of his coma. Destiny had time to think things through while Matthew didn't. Destiny had time to continue to go to school, while Matt didn't. He does haved alot to catch up on containing to school. He still going to have ot work through it because his mother made an decision for him.

@mrsknoitall Exactly. I know we don't have that much time left, but I would also prefer he apologize before the baby is born, though it's a good chance that won't happen. Is Matthew going to fall in love with his child once he sees/holds him? Probably, but I'd rather the baby not be the impetus for Matt's epiphany and the reason he apologizes to Destiny. She deserves an apology that is for her and about her.

i feel like matthew is being a jerk but he is being honest. he is bringing up valid points of what he feels and so does destiny. i did feel like destiny was picking at everything he said but that's just her and she could sense matthew's undertones. i think both had their points and matthew was really messed up when he said our time was great but its not like we were dating.lol i was like, no he didn't. but anyways,they will get it together and it was good that they fought now & said their truths

I'm starting to think this kid may be a girl. In the past Des has referred the the baby as "she" & then today Matt referred to the baby as "her." However Nora has called the baby "he/him" but I'm goin wit the reference made most & Drew can go both ways.
