Seen them a bunch of times. Too bad this video doesn't show Ibby "jumping so high." You can tell he did it by the reaction. Miss Ibby, but John McEuen wasn't there when this one was made. Now he does mandolin on it in concert.
I saw another version where they had the uekelele, but no accordian. I think the accordian player is the one who did the uekelele part, so they can't have both live at once unless they get a substitute musician.
filmed in kamloops bc. I was at the concert loved it. If I remember right carlene carter was there or her daughter it was a long time ago and Ive had a few kicks to the head since then.
@123456789mischief did you catch the shoe repair at 2:08... third and victoria street... kipp mallery drugstore in the background. both have been around forever... including the band.....
Top notch musicians..... all of em. I do miss the mandolin a "bit". But the piano player filled it in nicely. This is a Great version. I've seen you boys a bunch. Love ya'll every time.
I've LOVED this song since the first was released, a long long time ago now. If anyone has the video of them playing this song in a gazebo, PLEASE post it. I love how, on the original release, it has the old man telling a story before it goes into the song.
Jeff Hanna...probably the most underrated singer in the past 30 years. He can pull off most any tune with a better than the origial. Been a fan of the NGDB since early 70's. Drove 100 miles to see the NGDB at a county fair, still GREAT and was totally worth the time and effort. Thanks for the music Jeff!
- my dad has a shirt signed by them all

I never tire of listening to these guys. But what we really need is another Circle Album. Probably not going to happen, but a fella can dream...
