Mine's very clean and shiny, but has enough wear to ooze water from the piston when running. It's displayed now in a small custom wood and glass case (to keep the cat away).

The solid flywheel type are even older than this one and may have a different brand name on it as Metal Ware Co. (maker of Empire's) started out with several different names including "Harvey". It is neat your grandfather has one, they are built like a tank!
No, it is an Empire model B-30 Horizontal with cast iron base...very stout American built engine from the 1920's...Wilesco is German and builds lighter weight stuff.
