  • Thanks man, your great. I don't know why but i really want to live in the wild more than in a house and going to work and all that. Were did you learn your skills from, i wish i could learn survival skills like you. Subscribed.

  • Kind of a misleading title. Most snow conditions are actually quite dry... due to the coldness. Starting a fire in snow isn't actually that difficult.

  • very well spoken

  • omfg anyone can figure out how to light wood but the question was how to light a fire when wet, where the fuck is the wet? stupid sob

  • clear and helpful... thanks!

  • you patronising twat

  • And dig a little here and there get some rocks and when they heat up around the fire it will give off warmth to.

  • where's the WET condition? it's a dry sunny day!

  • @ati975 snows not wet?

  • thanks for the help

  • whats about pressing my stick against your lips?

  • At last some good clear and informative videos, thankyou.. and you don't even have an annoying voice.

  • Very handy Info. I tried my hand at lighting damp wood in a bbq grill, while the wind was blowing. That was a lesson in futility.

This specific info has showed me my errors.

    thanks!

  • did anyone else see the yeti/sasquatch --really--- at frames 4;29 ..what is it???

  • @theHENRYco

    its snow falling

  • Very informative can not believe some douche rockets actually voted dislike. Keep it up I have been watching alot of your vids.

  • your speech is smooth and not too fast. Nice job. How many takes did you have to do?

  • I have liked what videos I've seen of yours. Kudos! Very informative, base line knowledge we all should have learned growing up.

To apply this in a more wet setting would be ideal for teaching purposes. Learning how to build a fire in Washington state after several days of rain proved to be a great learning experience for myself and scouts I have been with. Keep up the good work!

  • snowy places are not wet. any object that has not been turned into snow is dry.

  • omg you got much talk

  • Why not use your hair (if you have some) as tinder.

  • lol crotch of the tree.... lol trees dont have croches

  • great video

  • Easier to carry half dozen Presto logs in backpack and gallon of gas.

  • lol u said crotch.

jk great video, very useful stuff i will subscribe

  • @TrueComposure he keeps his stash in his crotch.

  • Camping is amazing, thanks for the vid man. Of course its always better when you have a bag of weed.

  • thanks man u helped alot

  • mm there one problem with this... your NOT in wet conditions..

this vid says..WET conditions , but it isnt

  • you talk like ROBOT lol

  • I dont think it would help to remove the snow in Norway in the middle of the winter... Its like 30- Celsius and 1 - 2 meters of snow xD

    But nice video! :D

  • holy hell dude your very very helpfull thankyou so much for these videos :)) im going to subscribe

  • Awesome! Glad that you enjoyed it so much!

  • @slyjosh13

i totally agree. after the first 2 videos that i saw from this guy, i subscribed.

  • I just use the laser that shoot out of my eyes to start fires.

  • do as bear grylls do,learn from his show

  • this isnt wet. this is cold and dry. still its an awesome video.

  • That last comment was ment for EmphasisonRazzle. Not our buddy doing the video. I just hate these assholes that feel compelled to put that crap on as a comment when someone is trying to give of their wisdom.

  • what is the song a the very begining

  • this is way better than bear grylls.

  • The video is great. I like how clearly you explain the process. Thanks for sharing.

  • he said wood

  • thanks for the good information.

  • I found it quite easy to light a fire in the Snow but in heavy rain and a bitting wind a little more difficault unlike whare you are we get more Rain than Snow although this year we did have 16 inches in some parts of the UK

  • Cold and dry is far from wet. I have started wildfires in 2 degree weather. I live in Western Oregon and you have to dig deep in the thick conifers for dry tinder in Winter. Cedar bark is your best bet.

  • I agree, this is video is missnamed. Theres nothing wet about these conditions really.....it should be called making fire in the snow. Making fire in the rain is way different.

  • it's a fuckin' example!

  • OMG You're SOOOO awesome!!! 2 degree weather. OH MY GOODNESS!?!? When you start a fire in -55 degree (ambient) weather in north Alaska by the arctic circle....then open your mouth, douche bag.

The best tree in ACTUAL wet conditions fires is a Birch tree. You shave the tree under the bark and use it like magnesium shavings.

  • Have you been a dick head all your life or did it just begin recently? Why dont you keep your dumb ass comments in your ass where they belong. No one needs to hear your shit

on the videos. If you think you are mr outdoors, put your wisdom on the net. Because you may live in Alaska doesnt make you anything but cold. Stop being a dick

  • I thought the video was about starting a fire in wet conditions.

  • @Rthame YEAH WHAT THE FUCK! THIS IS SNOW SNOW IS FUCKING DRY

  • where can i buy a magnisium fire stryker?

  • ojon25: Try an Army Surplus store, or Kmart/Walmart type stores, in the camping department. You can also checkout swapmeets and fairs in your area. I bought mine at my County Fair last Summer for abt $3. Good luck!

  • walmart

  • If it's raining build your shelter over a log then use your blade to cut off the wet bark. You'll find dry wood under the bark. A small fire in a pitt inside your rainproof shelter is doable. Line it with non porous rocks to trap the heat and to keep the wood off the wet earth. Don't forget ventilation, and use the fire to dry more wood as you go.

  • Like the others say, them conditions are cold but dry.Try to get dry tinder in sunny wales,,not.! rain for six weeks without a break latey, good videos though.

  • This isn't wet.. I was in the Oregon forest near the Mollala river, and it was soaking wet, just drenched. I found that the only dry wood was inside some down trees. I was curious about other sources, which was why I looked here. All of the moss, the massive amounts of moss, were completely soaked.

  • The best place to find the material to start a fire in a rain soaked forest is in dead standing trees. Take down a dead tree and no matter how much its been raining the center will still be dry. I like to split the center out and take my ultra sharp knife to it to create fine shavings, which acts as the "tinder bundle". All you need is progressively larger stages of kindling to an eighth of a pie, to a quarter, to a half til im sweating off my jacket in my lean-to shelter. its back facing south.

  • Thanks for this. That's what I used for the larger burn pieces, but wasn't able to find tinder. I will try shaving pieces off next time. It was pitch black when we arrived, so I was more interested in setting up the tent. :P Thanks again, great information.

  • 52days of wilderness changed me, coming back to society was like visiting the moon

  • Wow that is pretty awesome... where were you?

  • in the oregon desert like 90 miles southeast of Bend

  • @HedgehogLeatherworks downtown la...

  • lmfao

  • @LogicListens Where were you? tell us, please =D

  • imho it's much more difficult to find reasonably dry stuff in autumn after days or even weeks of rain than in winter. hmm... it *is* autumn and it *is* wet right now... perfect oportunity to show us some stuff that'd help right now!

  • Yep, I agree with you... eventually I will shoot another video on this topic.

  • I like all the vids you do man ..

I don't know why but i'm enjoying most of it ... i will subscirbe more than 1 time if I can xD Keep em coming !

  • Awesome! Thank you!

  • Do you use cue cards or what? You have your spiel down perfect. Like watching PBS. ha ha Great job.

  • Hahah! Thanks... that is awesome!

  • Great video man!. This video is very use full

  • Thanks!

  • It doesn't look like "...Wet Conditions" to me. Humidity can be vey low even with snow on the ground. You need to show how to get/find good tinder in the rainin...then the conditions will be " ...Wet..."!

  • Yep... you're right that it was not soaking wet out there, however it was pretty damp and the snow offered some challenges. I will do some practicing next time it rains and hopefully come up with another video that takes place during or after a heavy rain... thanks for commenting!

  • I remember a drawing about a cat walking gently over a keypad, and you would see the typing on the screen: E=mc2.

This is what your fabulous videos just reminded me of. You illustrate and explain thins very easily but in a very neat and precise way as well. Just great!.

  • Thanks a million! I am so happy that the information is easy to digest! Much appreciated!

  • great radio voice, you need to get a job on an outdoor show!

    Paul
