WOW!! It's amazing today to see tht the the "Old school rockers" can really sing. Something you don't see today with the big stage shows that take away from the actual music.
Excellent. Saw Krausse and Plant at Santa Barbara. Could never figure why in the middle of this song, someone would give a rebel yell. Why? Were the singers going to give you a thumbs up for that? Maybe they'd just found religion or something.
It's the way Americans are I'm afraid. There are multiple postings from this tour, and the European crowds(this one's in London, right? - close enough) actually LISTEN while the American ones just scream and make noise during the whole thing, even during beautiful and haunting songs like this one. It reminds me of how Fred Durst ruins a duet with Aaron Lewis singing "Outside" because he had to talk during it, couldn't just focus on the song. Ugh.
This is fantastic. However, I am having a hard time melding this Robert Plant with the Robert Plant I grew up with, strutting around onstage with a very prominent outline in his pants, open shirt long hair, rocking the world, and the farthest thing from this demure, chaste, humble Robert Plant here in this video. It almost makes me laugh, it's so different. It's beautiful for sure, but it's just hard to reconcile the two very different Roberts!
@SarahRachel59 I can understand that, but Freddy Mercury could rock out with STONE COLD CRAZY then turn around and sing opera, so I guess Robert can dabble with a little bluegrass gospel.
@SarahRachel59 I never thought he was as sensitive a musician as he shows himself to be here, taking a backseat, not only to Alison Kraus, but to the song itself. I'm impressed.
She has a truly amazing voice. Another great singer with an amazing voice is Robby Shipp, he does a version of this same song, and it blows my mind away! I highly recommend it.
I was at this show and I can tell you people who didn't know how good Alison Krauss was were just blown away. It still makes the hairs stand up on my neck when I hear this.
I love Led Zeppelin and since this show I have love Alison Krauss.
Thank you kindly for this very steady and great sound quality video of Alison beautifully singing acapella, live at Wembley Arena. We went to this fabulous gig and were positioned just behind the mixing desks where "Down To the River To Pray" was the highlight of the evening for us.

@pickledogpete True. On the other hand maybe we're just seeing an old person trying to get into heaven now. ;-)
