I own a 2006 Explorer Limited with 4 wheel drive and has the 4.6 3 valve motor that gets over 20 MPG at speeds 65-70.

On hot summer days you can leave the AC running. Just use the keypad, But watch out for the Repo man.

The keypad allows you to warm your car up on cold mornings exp if you live up north when it gets -0F. Nice to get into a warm car. Just leave it running with the alarm set.

You must be one of those fags who loves to drive a weak car that have smashed in my dad's 1995 Explorer with no damage our car but it smashed Honda Civics, Toyotas, AND a full sized GMC WITH NO DAMAGE. My dad never had to repair the bumper ^ ^ Not even a scratch. That's how tough the Ford Explorer is being based on body on frame. Go to your weak cars and watch them get smashed like a tin can.

My Isuzu Rodeo good broadsided by a 1993 Mercury version of the Taurus, and THEIR car got damage, besides the reason why your 'Ford Explorer doesn't have any problems' is because you HARDLY DRIVE IT. My Isuzu Rodeo has 175,978 miles on it and never, ever had any problems! Still have the original clutch and everything! My 2001 Mitsubishi Montero Sport has 93,831 miles and only the reverse went out because my friend abused it for 200 miles! Quit acting like granny & drive.

I've done burnouts, drifts, and much more with my dad's Explorer. If you drove it like a race car and have only 60k miles, then it's equivalent to all those miles you have. You shouldn't be hating on Ford if you don't expect someone to fight you back. =) My Ford Mustang will burn all those cars by the way.

I for one love the Frd Escape I am in highschool its my first car 2007.:) All car makers have there fluzzies evry now and then. Toyota as you probally know just recalled over one million vehicles due to the acceleration pedal getting stuck because the tube that send gas to the engine was faulty and the pedal became hard to push slow to return and sometimes stuck. Just sayin.:)

Nissan Titan wanted to be a gas guzzling truck just because Ford and Chevy and GMC were already gas guzzler. The Toyota Tundra is ugly designed, And thats not true, Korean, and Japanese SUV's are much more cheaper to maintain than a Ford Explorer or a Chevrolet Trail Blazer. Beside, I think I want to actually save gas, not waste it on those big ass cinder blocks.

Ford! I am from a Ford family! My dad has a 1994 E-350, 1998 F-250, and a 1999 Windstar. He plans on trading the Windstar for an Expedition. My mom has a 2003 Taurus and is getting an Edge. I get the Taurus! My dad's E-350 has 430,000 miles and is still strong! My mom's Escort had 390,000 before she traded it in for the Taurus! Fords last forever!

when i travel in it . after 400-500 km it stated to flashing the " over drive lamp

Well..., since it's a 2002 model..., it could be a lemon that, you've bought. Most cars be involved in terrible wrecks...and, the dealer whom, buys it, just patch it up, here and, there(to make it look nice and, neat)and, put it up for sale! Other than that..., you probaly had it in the wrong gear. Two of my sisters had their 2003 Ford Explorers for, almost 3yrs....and, never had any major problems with them!

For the Middle East Market they AWD is not offered on the Explorer but on the Mercury and the 4x4 is offered on the Explorer instead. We dont have the v8 also. different marketing strategy I think they did it so the Explorer wont take away the sales of the Mercury

you probably don't have the limited and eddie bauer trims either then.the main difference between the awd and 4x4 on the explorers and mountaineers,is that the awd system is meant for on road performance,and the 4x4 for off road,both have low range,and can operate in 4 wheel drive on road.but the awd dosen't have a center diff lock!

I have this same Explorer in this color Orange Frost! I get compliments on it alot. Mostly about the color and the Ironman Package side moldings. I hope ford keeps making the Explorer in the future because this SUV can do everything well. The quality Overall Seems to be pretty good with no problems so far. And alot of the new crossover SUVs out right now look like Soccer mom cars. But the Explorer kept its tough and sporty looks at least with the Ironman pkg.
