I saw a girl at a fair, and her eyelashes were longggg. So long that I had to ask her if they were real. She said she used latisse. They were almost too long, but it was pretty amazing how obvious the effect of latisse was.
Dude! So that is why UBS upgrade AGN earning! I thought it was their pipeline, which are below average. But most people think that mainstream medicine makes the most money like cardiovascular, cancer, and injuries; well, it is not. Cosmetics make the most $. People that invested in this stuffs tend to have save $ for this purpose!
@jewishcrimenetwork Your logic is faulty. Non-invasive treatments are primarily for hair loss prevention. I think what you are expecting is similar to wanting your toothpaste to fill a cavity! Not going to happen.
The hair growth properties of bimatoprost have been known for years, even well before the FDA-approved Latisse for eyelashes. Allergan has already started clinical trials of bimatoprost for hair growth in the hopes that they will achieve the FDA approval. This class of drugs, prostaglandin analogues, are quite safe with little to no systemic side effects. Some patients have used this treatment for scalp hair growth off-label with great success!
They are currently testing 3 formulations of this for MPB (male pattern baldness) in Phase II trials. If it works on the head hair as well as it does for eyelashes, its going to rock. But still a person would need at least velus hairs to thicken i would wager. Won't quite work on a guy who's norwood 5/6/7 is my guess.
@orangedac Absolutely, you need some miniaturized hair for any non-invasive treatment like minoxidil, bimatoprost or laser therapy to work. The current Latisse/bimatoprost concentration of 0.03% does seem to work... will a higher concentration work better? We'll have to see! All I saw was the Phase I (NCT01189279) 14-day trials so far.
@orangedac No matter the degree of hair loss, you still need *prevention* and what we currently have is good, not great. NW's 3-7 will still need hair transplants to replace irreversibly damaged/miniaturized follicles. If the studies are successful, bimatoprost/Latisse will likely be another FDA-app'd preventative treatment for hair loss.
Valued Clients... starting Monday November 8th, 2010 the first 25 clients who schedule a spa facial and purchase a box of Latisse will receive $100 main in rebate. Call 515-267-8808. Facials makes great gift ideas!!
I did not make clear of what I really meant. I understand about allergies. But I did not appreciate them pushing off responsibilities as never replying my calls. The 1 time they finally picked up, they gave a case #, told me to give to my dermatologist where I bought Latisse from, and they'll give full refund. I told them I want the dept who will advise me on what next step is what kind of professional co. wouldn't have that dept. Not only that, nobody ever acknowledge my doc's calls too.
Friends: I lost all my lashes grew fm Latisse. Latisse refuse any responsibility gave case # told me talk to where I bought it, dermatologist. Latisse also don't reply 2my dermatologist. My dermatologist is going 2 stop carrying Latisse & tell her world of medicine! I'd prefer some explanation! I did not want 2trash Latisse til I know how they handle my case. I want to warn my world who's considering using Latisse!
@DJCiaoBella It's obvious that you are allergic to"bimatoprost"the active ingredient in Latisse/Lumigan/Careprost.This is very rare but isn't the fault of the pharmaceutical company or the physician that prescribed it.As with any product that you are allergic to,all you can do is discontinue use and move on.Stay clear of products containing the same ingredients
For the most part, thousands of people (including myself) use bimatoprost based products (latisse, lumigan, careprost) with great success
Well for someoone that has dark pigment eyes, the side effect of darking eyes isnt that bad. And if it does darken skin around area, its then like having natural eye shadow. But I wonder if this can help also grow facial hair: sideburns, goat-tees
oliviasdaddy1, I agree there should be more research for the diseases you mentioned and MORE, but for heaven's sake. This drug was developed for a disease- glaucoma. I just so happened that people noticed longer, thicker lashes!! It's not like they developed it for the lashes. Allergan merely took the bull by the horns and made it available to people who want longer lashes. Who could blame them? I wish I had stock in the company!!
there are people in this world suffering from AIDS, cancer, diabetes and a whole host of other diseases and ailments and THIS is what they come up with?
@oliviasdaddy1 that's one of the most hypocritical comments i've ever read.this pharmaceutical company is in the beauty and cosmetics field just like other companies are in the cancer or hiv field.i bet u use make up ,right?do u complain about the companies that spend their time and money trying to produce the best make up for your skin?u are a hypocrite
This could be a breakthrough in hair loss. There's a pain that comes from losing your hair that can be equal to cancer or AIDS especially for women. It strips them of their self esteem and femininity. You wouldn't date a bald woman would u? There's a stronger than normal fear of never falling in love, or that their husbands won't want to touch them and eventually leave. No one wants to die alone. With that being said, the world's a shallow place. All u can do is adapt.
Ever heard of "beauty is in the eye of the beholder"?
yeah i agree with what your saying, but no man should leave his wife just cause she's going through some hair loss. what ever happened to the term "til death do us part". its so sad that men lie like this just to get with a women & leave her when she needs him the most.
@oliviasdaddy1, they would rather "treat" people with cancer, and gets lots of money out of it. being able to heal them completely wouldn't make them the same profit. believe it or not, but there is a reason why the US has the most obese and unhealthy population. they want us to eat those processed foods, and they want us the have improper education. you can talk about that day and night, those were just a few ideas
@wtfborat wait, I'd rather see medicines for good, non-profit curing of terrible illnesses and you're posting conspiracy theories and *I'm* the troll?
I absolutely agree with you. The irony is that, there are so many fundraisings for the same cause; marathons and so on, so far, it is the same. The disease will just prolong, but, there is no medicine for them. What I mean, that maybe, a few years ago, a cancer patient may have died faster than today, but, nevertheless, they die, only after suffering so much wit h chemos. I know, coz my sister in law went thru the same. Hope they find medicines for those diseases instead.
lol Didn't you watch? It was discovered by accident, so it's not like they were researching a way to make eyelashes longer. They were trying to cure Glaucoma.
Well, if you go to sleep with the liquid still wet, then it would rub on your face and after several weeks of the same habit, it would eventually grow hair. I know this is a fact that happened with this product to many people.
akamizzT that is your opinion, but not the opinion of millions of women out there. Obviously you have enoumous lashes naturally, to say that this is silly it is actually rather silly girl.
this works i have it

It is so good for hair that I haven't seen a single case of a bald man regrowing his hair. That good it is.

its silly to think of every medication as having some terrible side effect and starting a paranoir fest about it.
a drug is just a chemical, everything in the world is a chemical including the food you eat and the air you breath.
