  • Tony Sheridan gets the best musicians on the planet to back him in "My Bonnie"

    hahahaha! I Love it!

  • Comment removed

  • Ringo wasnt on this recording he wasnt a Beatle until 62 and its Tony Sheridan doing the lead vocals

  • Excellent!

  • He does Elvis as well as Elvis! Thanks for posting!

  • pretty good pictures...never seen alot of em...hmmmm

  • my intrest is in the song, as the first commercial recording with the Beatles, and re-released in early 64, I have always found this song a fantastic example of george Harrisons guitar ability, so much so, that he doesn't seem to ever have the same fevered, reckless enthusiam in any future Beatle song, his guitar solos progress to a dizzying hieght, with a reckless abandon like a run away train, raw and pure rock and roll. you can tell he loved to play the heck out of that old folk tune.

  • @ejdiii333 I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the guitar soloist on "My Bonnie" is not George, but Tony Sheridan himself, although George was playing on the record.

  • @AkiroXKE ........they both are listed as playing lead guitar, doesnt say in anything ive read who did the solo..if youve seen this stated somewhere, id like to know where

  • @jillzi7 Tony Sheridan said this in a few interviews, most notably in the DVD documentary about the Beatles at the Star-Club (not sure of the exact title). A quick listen to some of his recordings without the Beatles would suggest he wasn't lying- he's a great guitarist in his own right.

  • @ejdiii333 Wow. I completely agree. He did some good solos later, like, "Here Comes the Sun," but none of them rocked, and his solo on "I Saw Her Standing There" is just pain.

  • @Hister333 .....yeah, and so where is your music posted..OHHH THATS RIGHT, YOU DONT HAVE ANY,, and even if you did, is your name known the world over, and loved by millions for well over 50 years?..NOPE..so shut the fuck up douche bag..

  • @jillzi7 Actually, if you type "Kenneth Hister" into youtube, it'll come up. And, no, it hasn't been loved the world over. Maybe if I had it to do over again, I would wear a stupid bowl cut, and sing insipid shit about how great it is to hold hands.

  • how are we supposed to see the pictures if they are onscreen for a fraction of a second?

  • Bonnie, as in bonnie young lass. I'm guessing it's related to the spansih word for beautiful, bonita/bonito.

  • bring back my johnny to me ^.^

  • Ringo wasn't part of the band at the time.... but thanks for including the pic.

  • you have to imagine these guys playing in small smoke-filled nightclubs on freezing dark nights,,,and then they come out and play this rocking roll for the kids in there...and how wild it must of been...

listen to that break,,,,it's soo filled with energy and i for sure would of been dancing my ass... someday this group might hit it... to the top of charts,,,ya think?

  • actually the Beat Brothers are the Beatles

  • Lol @1:28 (Paul singing pic)

  • I was trying not to blink because I knew I'd miss something.

But hey, no worries. That gives me an excuse to watch it again and again.

    Great vid.

    Thanks for posting

    This made my day

  • pete wasnt better at all, george martin said he would record the beatles if he could bring his session drummer in to play on 1st single, please please me,cos pete wasnt up to much..but they got rid of pete by then and brought ringo with them, but martin insisted on still usein the session guy,..

in those days,to even find a drummer was an effort, cos a drum kit was exspensive, and there wasnt many drummers about anyway

  • sweet sweet sweet beatles memory video, RIP John and George and let their music Rock for all times to come ! thanks to my special friend Melanie.

  • DUMBO's THIS AREN'T THE BEATLES! This group is called Tony Sheridan and the Beat Brothers whoi recorded for Polydor in Germany. The star singer and guitarplayer was Tony Sheridan

  • I think your in error, according to the 1974? interview with tony sheridian, used in the documentary "the complete beatles" (BBC) Tony states that the beat boys where a studio band, that the beatles did also play on his record, for about half of the songs, and My Bonnie was sung by himself and the Beatles where the band on that song. you can hear paul and johns cat calling, there voices are distinct. Ain't she sweet was recorded at same session, and that is clealy john singing.

  • @jt123egypte

Actually, the "beat brothers" is referring to the Beatles, who,for some reason, were forced to go by "beat brothers" on this record because the other people thought "Beatles" was a bad name. The Beatles are backing Tony Sheridan in this one. It was their first record ever. Also, back then, the Beatles went by all kinds of names, everything from "Johnny and the Moondogs" to the "Nerf Twins"

(sorry I'm not trying to be a smarty pants but where do you come off calling people "Dumbo"

  • @jt123egypte umm the beatles were known as the beat brothers in germany because Beatles sounded too much like Peedles, which was the german slang for penis

  • @jt123egypte My copy of this record credited Tony Sheridan and the Beatles, not Beat Boys. This was the record that started everything off for the Beatles. Several people in one day went into a record shop in Liverpool, and asked for this record, by the Beatles. The shop's manager, Brian Epstein, had never heard of them, but decided to find out. He ended up managing the Beatles, along with a whole stable of other now-famous Liverpool groups and singers. This record started it for them all.

  • @Galericulus

Than you did not buy an original copy! The starsinger was Tony Sheridan and the backing groups The Beat Brothers,

  • @jt123egypte Crikey, I'd better not tell the person I sold it to. He paid me a lot of money for it!

  • @Galericulus

    There will always be lunatics!

  • The pictures move too fast, i can't even see them all

  • I meant Bass

  • Great vid!

George was so sexy when he was like....18!

  • who's singing?

  • Tony Sheridan is the singer.

This song was made when "The Beatles" were known as the "Beat Brothers"

  • epstien didnt know the band when a young lad asked 4 this, and that made him check the beats 4 himself...................the rest history

  • Why not introduce pete best and and sutcliffe they were the drummer and base in this number back when they had three guitarist.

  • stu and pete were there stu died and pete got fired and replaced with ringo. pete was better

  • there first out in on record,..!!!
