  • I have all understood lb him we will have

  • a thug changes, and love changes, and best friends become strangers, word up.

truer words were never spoken ;D

  • @TheBustagee8 Exactly he didn't get the time to shine in which he deserved, Biggie out out only 2 albums too but had so many classic, sucks Big L isn't talked about enough, despite all of that, Big L wasn't in the game long enough and simply can not be put over the likes of like a Rakim or Kool G Rap, or KRS, because those guys were just as lyrical but also dropped numerous classics, i'm just tired of all thse people saying he is the best ever.......such a fanboyish statement

  • NASty

  • beautiful beat !

  • @TerritorialPissings7 You got it wrong dude, Big L is definitely one of the best rappers of all time, but you can't put him in a top 5 of all time because the likes of Kool G Rap, Big Daddy Kane, Rakim, KRS, Nas, Andre 3000, Black Thought, Ghostface Killah, along with other rappers were just as gifted lyrically but also put out more albums to show their consistency, no one can predict the future and say Big L would drop classic after classic, so we got to go with what is true and facts

  • @abstractded Nahh dude, Big L is one of the best lyricist of all time and he was an amazing story teller and punchline rapper, sucks he died so young

  • It's not about how long you in the game, it's about impact. Big L may not have had time like Nas to forge a legacy and that but his punchline rapping with lyrical content is better than anything else before or since.

And L was in the game for a good 4, 5 years at least as he signed to Colombia the same time as Nas.

  • @abstractded Umm that's exactly what i said......Big L is dope as fuck but he wasn't in the game long enough to be at the top so we can't put him somewhere he doesn't deserve to be, i'm not taking anything away from him, all i'm saying is you can't put someone near the top over other emcees when he was only in the game for like a couple years

  • @MrXxZeldaxX17 oh, i get you. i thought you meant L wasn't worthy of the props he gets.

  • @MrXxZeldaxX17 Big L put out two albums before he died. The Big Picture was pushed back because he died but it was finished before he died. Biggie put out two albums before he died. Life After Death was pushed back because he died but it was finished before he died.

  • @MrXxZeldaxX17 even Notorious BIG was for couple of years bet he was the best in the game at that time :P

  • @MrXxZeldaxX17 what's "the top??" lol everyone has their own opinion.

  • @567Lifestyle Get tha fuck outta here with that Big L shit, dude wasn't in the game long enough to be put at the top

  • @MrXxZeldaxX17 yea right, big l is one of the dopest. how could he be at the top if he was murdered, genius?

  • dopest ever

  • nas is sick.

  • pac is ma favorite rapper even though he had beef with nas , nas got some illlllllllllllll shit....word

  • @inmigranterealhiphop REAL TALK! I RIDE 4 PAC, BUT "I GAVE U POWER" BY NAS, KILLS "ME & MY GIRLFRIEND" BY 2PAC... NAS IS, WAS, AND 4EVA WILL B A DOPE ASS RAPPER....!

  • @junglekiDD55 nas is a dope ass rapper , so was pac , its no use sayin who is better than who cose there both amazing , so i cant say pac was BETTER than nas , but i do like him better than nas , there is no such thing as the BEST RAPPER , theres only favourite rappers

  • @inmigranterealhiphop but tupac ended beef and actually he was about to have a collab with nas but he died.

  • there's one life, one love...so there can only be one king.

  • jay z aint on nas level...ETHER!!!!!!

  • Jay-Z is better then Nas.

  • @Bombers199333 Jay-Z is not better then Nas...

  • @oldskoolomid hurddd

  • @Bombers199333 Dude is on some dumb shit.

  • @Bombers199333 yous a funny nigga. jay-z is a sellout.

  • download adblock on chrome if thats your browser, keep nas real

  • @NathanOfTuonela I use Safari and I've not an advert in like 2 years. Adblock is awesome

  • Tupac, Nas, B.I.G., Big L.

    masters of the mic.

  • @567Lifestyle amen

  • @567Lifestyle Don't Forget About Rakim

  • @567Lifestyle Guru & Rakim?

  • @ThisIsVice thank you that's what I'm saying

    Tupac = Heart

    Biggie = Brains

    Pun = Mouth

    Nas = The Message

    Rakim & Guru = Energy

    Kool G & GZA = Inner G

There are other guys too (obviously)

Also I add in that imop Big L = overrated (just my opinion) him and eminem both have super huge d-riders who just don't know what they're talking about... L had solid flowing skills and creativity but overall he just generally wasn't that complex.. and yes I have explored L's music allot

  • @StreamerVideo For one, Big L is actually very underrated (eminem indeed) but I dont agree with L's complex. Of course he often spoke foul but his message was deeper. when you take a look at his activities from 95-99, he learnt to know that this aint living, many material about that is on "street struck" for example,

  • @ThisIsVice k I understand what you're saying.. I just don't see any complexity in his lyrics alone Ye the dudes creative but once again I say I can't give that guy too little credit cuz he never had a chance to blow up... and I agree he is underrated I'm saying when ever you go on his vids in the comment section allot of people will claim that he's untouchable and Pac and Biggie suck compared to him etc. They just idolize him kinda...

  • @ThisIsVice but I can see Big L as the exact opposite of Tupac in some ways... Tupac was the hero Big L was the villain invading rap with the dark side, while Pac was kinda like going for the light I guess

  • @StreamerVideo Well pac also had a diabolic side and L also claimed for peace, just in a more personal way, but mindstates like pac's are very rare

  • @ThisIsVice ye but PAc was more like "jack wit me I jack wit u" type

L was like the guy who started the jacking with

  • @StreamerVideo my comment wasnt supposed to mean that they've got the same character. altough both represent the streets & made a better living, L was just more local

  • @ThisIsVice I can't straight hate on L because he did have some great stuff + his career was cut short and he obv had even more potential then what he displayed but that last 4 tracks of Lifestyles ova the Poor and Dangerous album (with the exceptions of "I don't understand it") were mediocre compared to the other tracks on that album

  • @ThisIsVice and no i'm not a Big L hater he's one of my favorite rappers but I'm able to tell that just because he's one of my favorites that doesn't make him better than the rest who aren't my favorites

  • @567Lifestyle Big L is so overrated dude c'mon him and eminem are just overrated..

There have been plenty of MCs with more intelligent and enlightened content to their rhymes than Big L. There have also been a few (though not many) with more distinct delivery--and perhaps one (Nas circa "Illmatic"?) with a more natural flow.

He has solid flowing skills and creative punchlines but he's not very complex.. just pay deep attention to what he says.. and listen 2 songs besides his hits

  • @567Lifestyle cant front big pun was ill 2 he on da top too

  • @567Lifestyle you misssin Celph Titled he is as raw as Big L was

    also Black Thought

    Immortal Technique

    Common

    Killa Kam

    Big phat

    Big Pun

there are to many ppl who mastered the mic that u cant label them above eachother

  • @567Lifestyle nope not big l, big pun is though, gza, rakim, kool G are all better soz just had to be said

  • @StreamerVideo big L was exially the best that the guy mentioned haha,

  • @SlimRikkosz er not imop

  • @567Lifestyle replace tu-pac with bigboi/andre3000 and you have my list :D

  • @567Lifestyle Tupac,Nas,B.I.G.,Big L, Rakim***

  • @567Lifestyle + mos def

  • @567Lifestyle Uhhh, Rakim?

  • @T82486 i have too agree too disagree but No way is Jay Z a better Rapper then Naz !!!

  • @Pedro4ification : lol yeah, I agreed for pac, big and rakim (although i'd rather put DMX instead of rakim) and Nas but Jay-z ?! wtf ?

  • 1. NAS

    2.NWA

    3.Biggie

    4.pac

    5.Rakim

    3 kool g rap

  • @jmarrvin @MidlandKruiskade i love this debate you guys are having. both have an obvious appreciation and respect to not shit on eachother and take eachothers opinions with a grain of salt. too many immuture youtubers cant come up with a argument other than "youre a fucking faggot". if youtube was filled with debates like this id be reading comments all day

  • Was in NY last year with my high school class. one day me and a friend took the subway to Bronx because we wanted to see more than just skyscrapers and shopping. it was a real odd feeling listening to Nas and see the projects through the window. I guess i must have looked like a whigger but so what, still me with the good music taste...

  • See, New York niggaz we're madd competitive, everybody wants to be the king of NY up here, but we understand that when one of boroughs needs to take some time off, that the other one will be set with the reup. Nas and Mobb Deep were set with the reup in the 90s when BIG and Jay had to chill in the cut or whatever.

  • It Was Written was a damn good album! Shit.....that album was a classic. It wasn't better than Illmatic, but it was one of my all-time favorite Nas albums. This was back when the momentum shifted. BK was running shit the shit for a while, but then them Queens niggaz got they hands on this shit when Nas came back out niggaz! Queensbridge niggaz.....you know when Jay and BIG need to chill, when them Queens niggaz get the rock they gon' hold it down!

  • That nigga Nas.....this was my joint! Shoutout to my nigga Mike - Remember growing up in BK nigga and rollin' to HS every day in your car? This was the only shit we'd listen to when we'd be gettin' high in the car as we were ridin' to school before class starts. Those were the days nigga.

  • 213,032! Fuck NO! This should have 100,000,000 views! classic!

  • @matteomolinare You can't tell this BET generation shit yo. I swear. They're watchin' all that bs Hip-Hop on 106 & Park shit when their lil asses need to be educating themselves on real Hip-Hop.

  • @lildwayne21

unfortunately I am that generation :( I was born in 2000! But I only listen to real rap. Nas, pac, biggie, dre, snoop dogg.... the list goes on. I think lil wayne, birdman, drake and souja boy gotta shut the fuck up and stop rapping. Rap used to be on deep shit and serious issues now it's just about how much money they make! I wish I was born in the 80s so I could claim the 90s and live some of the real rap! Well let's just hope rap goes back to his origins. (even if I doubt so!)

  • @matteomolinare It seems Youtube stopped the counter. I just viewed this, refreshed the page & the count is still 213,032. I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but it seems they're manipulating numbers. What could be their motive be I wonder? (CUE OMINOUS MUSIC) But yeah, Youtube been declining for awhile. Commercials, my page has been de-personalized, they delete people's video etc. If this keep up, I can see it getting passed up by another video sharing site. Youtube Beware!!!

  • @tonyGjr2 Yeah we gotta all move to another site! cuz honestly youtube and vevo r shittttssss!

  • @matteomolinare Yep, my sentiments exactly. I use to surf the net to get away from commercials, but Youtube has let them creep in. FOR SHAME!!!!!

  • @matteomolinare Counts still the same.

  • you freak ni--az iz played out get f-cked and ate out/ grab your gunz it's on tho shit is grimey real ni-gaz buck in broad daylight with the broke mak it won't spray right don't give a fu-k who they hit as long as the drama lit yo overnight thugz bug kuz they ain't promised shit hungry ass hooligans stay on that pirahna sh-t!!!

  • oh he sampled this from sting shape of my heart both this song and the sting version have a heavy message in the lyrics

  • Sting sample is dope.

  • @risma211 shut the fuck up

  • "a thug changes, and love changes and best friends become strangers?"

thats too much my friend... that is TOO much...

  • everyone says the most fucked up shit to get thumbs up.

  • Tupac Nas B.I.G.

That's it, that's the only rappers who can call them self masters of the Mic.

Who is Jay-z? A grown up child? Who is Eminem? A depressing little shit!

These brothers aren't type for you to start testing!

  • @Lombardo826

What about Rakim? Tupac himself would have told you Rakim deserved credit ("Eric B and Rakim were the shit to me.").

A lot of you forget that well established icons existed before Tupac and BIG.

  • @Lombardo826 there are masters of the mic before them, i love tupacs music too, i can name a few before them.. rakim, big daddy kane, kool g rap, krs one, ice cube, peace!!

  • @Lombardo826 u forgot the illest & realest cat in the game Immortal Technique

  • @Lombardo826 rakim? big L? big Pun? its too simple to just put a 3 person list. btw jay zs reasonable doubt is a classic

  • @Lombardo826 You're an idiot. Dont state your opinions as if they're facts. Eminem and Jay are both great MC's and the fact that you can only think of these 5 emcees and give credit to only 3 shows how narrow your knowledge of hip hop is. Speaking of master of the mic, where are Rakim, KRS One, Big Daddy Kane, Scarface, Ice Cube, Kool G Rap, Slick Rick etc? Never heard of them or even knew that hip hop existed before Tupac and B.I.G?

  • @wolverine668 Glad to see that at least one head is worth his salt. Couldn't agree with you more.

  • @Lombardo826 ur an idiot if u think what eminem is a depressing little shit. he raps about real shit, just like pac and nas do. only difference they focused on political and social shit opposed to where eminem focuses on personal shit. lol ur a fuckin retard

  • @Lombardo826 Eminem !.. you cant be dissing Eminem .. eminem was sent by nas

  • @Lombardo826 i agree with u exept wat u said about eminem. eminem has helped alot of people threw tought sht so has nas and 2 pac nd biggie but people like eminem coz they can relate to him :)

  • @Lombardo826 Daawg you can't even lie, Eminem runs shitt. He's right behind nas. Em is deeeeep af, but not quite up there with nas and pac.

  • I still think this is the best album he made

  • @pim1234 illmatic is the best hip hop album ever though....

  • @JaneMelly1 Nope. Top 5 but not the best

  • He puts the Ass in Classic with this track.

  • @UnpredictabIy naww naww naww he puts the sic in classic

  • @killgrim420 that's not a word

  • I swear this album is slept on shits dope!

  • @Art106 No way is this slept out. Anyone who truly knows hiphop knows how much of a classic this is.

  • If Nas was dead early (like 2pac and BIG) he would be a legend just like them.

  • @Mabitesurtaglotte Sad to say that is true. I've always felt the same about DMX...if X came to an early grave after "And then there was X" he would be another top 5 dead or alive. Sadly, they only remember you in death. As for me, I will always love HipHop even when it doesn't love itself!!!

  • @Mabitesurtaglotte Nothing was special about how 2pac and Biggie died. They are important figures because they represented a strong positive lifestyle once they got out of ghetto. Nas' music speaks of freedom, equality and hope. Messages that many mainstream artists lack in todays era.

  • @eddewit1992 2pac and biggie were modern day robin hood vigilaties and that is why they were murdered.

  • @Mabitesurtaglotte

nas already is a legend like them!

  • @Mabitesurtaglotte Wrong NAS legend has a long term

  • @Mabitesurtaglotte He still a legend

  • Você diz que Justin Bieber, digo Tupac

    Bate até eu amo hiphop

  • Nas' storytelling would make Slick Rick pause the video to make popcorn.

  • @jmarrvin slick rick definitely respects nas in the sense of story telling..whats impressive about nas is he never talks about how he is a story teller he just does it in almost all of his songs which is a true talent because he flows beautifully..story telling the list goes slick rick, nas, biggie, andre 300, and i guess eminem

  • @StatenIzzy1 storytelling wasnt a talent back in the 80s and 90s because every rapper black and lived in the hood, it just came to them. these new niggas didnt see shit and they're southern kids

  • @airborne4lf id have to agree with that 100 percent..but obviously some shined more than others...obviously nas was a better story teller than dr dre

  • @StatenIzzy1 ghostface too

  • @jmarrvin Yea Nas is hands down the best storyteller in Rap History. Shoutout to Slick Rick too. Jay Z is a very underatted storyteller. You'd be hard pressed to find a better Story "Rap than Meet The Parents".

  • @chosenxeno well except brendas gotta baby, it was a good day, murder was the case, warning, almost every nas song, mind playing tricks on me, alomst every slick rick song, all falls down, almost every talib quali song, most eminem songs, the firms whole album, every immortal technique song, many men, hear me cry, dream, juicy, juice(know the ledge), doe or die(whole album), help me, look in my eyes, must love me(which was jay-zs best story song ever). those are just a few better lol

  • @dwayne3534 Those are great songs and many of them are based on their actual lives. "Meet The Parents" is great because it's storytelling based on Characters he's invented but you can identify with. Don't get me wrong I enjoy autobiographical story raps too. I think that building a story around characters you have created is a bit more brilliant. That is actually what makes Nas such a great storyteller as well. Nas is a better painter than most he sets the scene "In a mahogany setting..."

  • @jmarrvin Dude Slick's cool, but Big Daddy Kane>Slick Rick.

  • @1992lance No shit, sherlock.

  • @jmarrvin Hey there are other people who would disagree.

  • @jmarrvin ;DD u just made my day

  • @jmarrvin Nas's storytelling is unrivaled.

  • @jmarrvin No way. Nas is a better lyricist than Slick Rick, but he can't touch Slick Rick storytelling. If Nas made more songs like I Gave You Power & Undying Love he could have been considered one of the best storytellers. You have to be a consistent storyteller to be like Slick Rick, Kool G Rap & Ghostface Killah. I Got A Story To Tell & Niggas Bleed > One Love & most of Nas' storytelling songs.

  • @MidlandKruiskade I can't really agree with Ghostface Killah, as his shtick is more along the lines of "stream of consciousness", but I see your point. All the same, I'm sure that the greatest painter likes to admire the work of others, as does the greatest director, author, etc. The same is probably true for Slick Rick.

By the way, did you thumb down my top comment or something like that? Nothing wrong with that, of course, but I notice that my comment is no longer on top. Just curious

  • @jmarrvin No man, I would never do that. If it makes you happy I will give you thumbs up. I'm never like that, I don't even dislike the ones talking about shitting Jay-Z & Lil Wayne even though they are frustrating me. If you say something racist, then I will probably dislike the comment. I would never thumbs down an opinion. That's wack. I'm going to find your comment now and give a thumbs up.

  • @jmarrvin Now it's 46 thumbs up instead of 45.

  • @MidlandKruiskade I appreciate it a lot, but all the same, there was no need. Even if you had, I wouldn't be displeased in any way. It's just that my top comment seems to have lost its status as a top comment, which sort of puzzled me. I was just curious whether YouTube automatically removes top comments after a certain period of time, and this seems to confirm it.
