@ACEDIAMOND666 correction. the "...and justice for all!!" album was released august 25, 1988. this show was in london, england on october 11, 1988. so the album was indeed already out before this show. i went over to my vinyl collection and took out my original vinyl of the album that i bought back in 1988 and i also checked on the metallica website to be sure. the lp only says 1988. the metallica website says the actually release date of 08/25/1988. so there you have it.

Personally, I think that every album put out by Metallica had it's ups and downs. The black album and St. Anger are undoubtedly the worst, though both albums had a few good songs. Load and ReLoad were pretty fuckin awesome though...
I thought selling out was going more radio friendly so that they sell more. That hardly sounds like any of their albums after The Black Album. They never sold out, their music just isn't as good as it used to be. It's not like Saint Anger came out and they turned into one of the biggest pop bands in the world and got soft. That is what selling out is.

You don't get a sense of how fucking loud they were back then in the smaller venues. It was fucking awesome to see Metallica or Slayer back then. Lamb of God is today's version of painfully loud and loving it.

uggh I love how everything from this era sounds so raw and unrefined. Now all there live performances are just to....well record like. Just not as cool as this early stuff. Wish they'd do performances like this again.

when metal were big! and metalband was seen as cults! wonder why? so few bands to chose from! and so powerfull music! would have loved to be a part of it back then! was born the year after this concert lol! :P but now we instead got five billion bands and five million sub-genres to chose from! so i don´ t complain :)
