The plasma beam is the best weapon in the game, only 1 or 2 shots can kill most enemies and it takes only 1 or 2 shots to let burn damage kill them and a single charge beam shot with plasma beam is enough to kill just about all of the enemies one hit, not including mini bosses and bosses.

the plasma beam is really awesome. thats because its fast and can turn monsters (most monsters) into ash with charge beam on plasma mode.

Plasma Beam is awesome in Super Metroid, never played Prime, but I'm sure its awesome still. By the way, did you get Pokemon Platinum Nack?

what u could have done is after you freeze the monster u use the missle and the frozen monster will shatter with one missle.
