Spent £200 on one of these and have tried and tried but got no assistance from anywhere! Would really appreciate some! How do you save the sequences? I keep making up a little tune, then I save it, then when I turn the power off and back on it's vanished! Starting to get pretty frustrated.
for some reason i cant record on the pattern sequencer when in keyboard mode it just uses the samples that would be assigned to the key if it were in sample mode. please help this is driving me crazy!!!
This machine does some cool things. I will keep mine it even though I just got something else that has what i would actually call a "powerful" sequencer. This functions more as a looper but guess what? You can't undo overdubs on the fly, you have to stop playback! And that cheesy metronome! I certainly wouldn't let anyone hear that on stage! There's no sound settings for it, just on or off. So the "sequencer" adds handy preset backing and this is a good on the fly sampler and loop based tool.
A small update on the USB-driver thing. They have now updated the driver, after 10 months, 3 of which without a working driver. And the new driver, DOESNT resolve the problem! So even in spite of said update, we're still WAITING for a WORKING USB-driver!
I am absolutely in awe over a company thinking they can ignore supporting a basic feature of the things they sell. And meanwhile happily advertise said feature in the gear though it doesnt work...
I suppose it's your form of humor, putting a windows driver inside the download link for Mac drivers? Your idea of customer support is really pathetic!
@stewardsultry Too bad they havent updated any part of it's software, neither internally nor for computers...
Atm i dont have ANY of its USB-functionality because i updated my Mac without checking their website - only to learn afterwards that they've known there was a problem for the last 2-3 months, and havent done anything about it...
Thanks for the info. So I guess one could re sample patterns to several keys then allowing the user to arrange them to create one long pattern in record mode? Did I get that right?
Question, concerning the the Pattern Sequencer. You touch on it a little here..
The Question is about arranging a song using recorded patterns (1-16)on the MS 1.
Case in point most keyboards you can take created pattens or sequences and then arrange these patterns and sequences into a song... Intro __ Hook____Outro etc....Is the MS 1 only for creating patterns and Loops. How I record and edit arrange Patterns to make a Song to record in the studio?
@Blacknova55 The microSAMPLER doesn't have a "song mode" per se, but each of the patterns can be up to 99 measures long... So you could conceivably create an entire song using a single pattern slot.
WARNING it HAS NO UNDO !!!!! with those lil butons its kinda hard to dont mistake an overdub !!! i cant believe i wait 700 $ for just a midi player !!!!
@loquito1966 The patterns don't automatically chain together, but they can be 99 measures long apiece, and if you turn the PATTERN SELECT dial, the microSAMPLER will automatically finish the current pattern before starting the one you've chosen (you can change this behavior to make it react before the current pattern ends).
Also, you can specify a sample for use in KEYBOARD mode, so each time a new pattern starts, a specific sample can be played across the keys.

@loquito1966 - I was able to use Ableton to create a MIDI track triggering all the notes needed to create an entire 73 measure sequence, bounce it into the microSAMPLER with the included software, then just press play and let the entire song play on a single pattern.

can the sequencer's click track be routed to a headphone output rather than the mains? i'm curious if i can build sequences live onstage without the audience hearing the click.
@liveweyer Yes, it can, and you can run it through lots of different effects (check out our effects tutorial video for examples). To get the best sound, you should plug the guitar into a preamp, then into the line inputs on the back of the microSAMPLER..
I like this keyboard a lot, but the software for it is lacking any sequence editing features. There is also no way to jump ahead or back by measures, only whole patterns with the dial and SHIFT+PLAY. An upgrade to the librarian software is definitely needed though.
You can still process your live vocals using some very interesting effects. See our other video on using effects and resampling, and set it up the same way, except leave the "resampling" button unlit so it's processing the audio input.
I am thinking of buying one of these. I am curious though, I have seen effects but I have heard one can be used at a time. Is this true? The other question I have is when creating a song with this, 8 samples I've heard can be used at once, is this the limit?

This needs new firmware:
1) Song mode/sequencer.
2) Better undo.
3) Remove or reroute the metrone beep.
4) Send midi to control other units as part of #1.
And then it would be worth the money spent. :P

Is there a way to turn the click-track off? I;d like to compose a sequence "in silence", build without the click?
MadofaA 1 year ago
I just read the comments and got my question answered! It does have an 'Undo' feature.
I have a Kaossilator Pro but was wondering, is this like having a Kaos Pad + KaosPro in one unit? I'm very impressed with it.
I'd just like to know if I import the creations into my DAW for a song creation, is the quality good enough for a CD production?
