I worked for SkyShuttle once and a customer asked me "What to see and to do in Edmonton?" I said "Nothing... you bettergo to the bus station and go to Calgary instead, it's way better!"

The reason there is a battle is because YYC is a way bigger airport with a lot more flight options so lots of travellers drive from yeg to YYC so they can fly to somewhere that you can't fly to from YEG. The expansion won't really help YEG cause YYC is getting a huge expansion. Look it up at yyc.com
