For my 12th birthday my parents got me one. I found it in the trunk of the car while on a beach trip. After that, I had to stare at that box in my parents' room for a month. Brought back some memories!
Don't you love the satisfying way the case feels as it slides apart?
Man, this video takes me back to the my grade school days were I'd get the ultra rare chance to play games on the school computer. They were extremely stingy with access to the computers. Whereas nowadays, you have schools throwing laptops/kindles at the students *was born in the wrong century* lol
That is kick ass bro! Great to see you back on here again, missed seeing the old alec videos! Hope you get that old goat up and running right again man!
PS/1? Seriously? Ahh man PS/2 is where it's at! LOL J/K put all the classic DOS games on that bad boy. Will it take a standard ISA Sound Card? I know my PS/2 386 won't it's got all those special IBM expansion slots I forget what they're called. I guess this might be better off for that if it's just got standard ISA slots on it. Just need like an ADLIB or SB16 card for it!
@MN12BIRD Yep, it'll take ISA cards. I just found the old SoundBlaster for it. I haven't plugged speakers into it but Wolfenstein seemed to at least recognize it automatically. Woo!
Excellent computer you have there, i have an IBM NetVista i think it's from the mid nineties but i went with full upgrade to Windows XP just had to pump up the hardware (added higher processor and RAM); i guess leaving it original is good but i still have an old Texas Instruments laptop that demands old software like Win 95.
This reminds me of an Apple IIe that my uncle had in our old house. I'm not sure what happened to it or where it is now, but all I remember is some game that I frequently played on it when I was like 3 or 4 years old, had something to do with driving a car-like thing in a desert terrain. I can't remember. But it is a heavy reminder. Good luck on your project.
Nice computer!
