Are you guys from Canada? Cuz in your "How to do power jumps" vid, you guys had my cheer team, and in your how to spot a bhs video, ur coaches shirt said "Oakville"
Practice hand walking to build up your arm strength. Then get someone to spot you as you do back walkovers on gym mats. Once you can do that well, practice on wood floors like dance floors. As you gain confidence, just have your spotter stand by - so they can help if needed. Once you do back walkovers a few times without help - you will get more confident. But start with help & gym mats till you are ready to try them on a dance floor.
thank you guys sooooo much for this. I'm a dancer and this year i'm doing a solo at nationals i've been wanting to do a back walkover- this helps but do you have any advice on being scared to try it because i don't think my arms can support me and i'm always scared to try?
to Greenhillclub, if you are at home and you "don't" have a spotter to do your standing backbend, get lots of pillows or blankets and put them behind you so that if you fall and hit your head, you won't get such a hard bang. Arms straight. Or you can try doing only standing backbends on your bed or sofa...this was how i started.

@bloomedblossom Usually you put one hand on the lower back & the other one can help push the legs over (if necessary)
