Say Scott, I think I know what the siren you were standing by. The siren you were standing by I think is a 3T22, if I'm not mistaken about this siren.
@kurtdog119 Awesome! It's funny because up until recently I wasn't aware of all the different sirens that were out there, all of you here have educated me on this. Thanks!
Now Scott, I've seen a 3T22 in person and I've heard it sounding in person. The signal it sounded for tests was attack, and I've heard and seen two STH-10s in person, once sounding for a test, and once sounding for fire calls. The test and fire call signals are attack, and the sirens would be tested at 6:00pm every Monday for 1 minute. Ever since I grew fond of fire sirens, the sound of fire sirens was music to my ears, as I want to be a firefighter in the future.
@josecitoperecito Yes, you can see the wall cloud forming as all the scud began rising towards the base of the supercell. It was an amazing thing to witness, thanks for watching!
At 0:31 into the video, I noticed a possible lighting strike, with cloud-to-ground lightning involved. The cloud-to-ground lightning definitely caught me off guard when I first saw it.
Hey Scott, I noticed something at 1:05 during the 1/10th speed, and it looked like cloud-to-ground lightning striking something for a lightning strike. Have you ever caught any lightning strikes on video during any of your chases?
Hey Scott, when I looked at the date for this video, I noticed that you chased this storm prior to the 9-11 disaster, which had not yet taken place when this video was made.
Scott, when I looked at the siren you were standing by more closely when you zoomed out, I noticed that the siren is a either a 2T22 or a 3T22, either of which is one of the tornado/fire sirens in some cities. I doubt the siren you were standing by is used also for fire calls. Most likely only a tornado siren.
@neosho53059 I've seen a few good storms in Wisconsin over the years. Here in NYC where I live however we almost never get storms like this. But, we did get a big one back in Sept 2010 that trashed my neighborhood so it does happen from time to time. Thanks for watching!
Perfect spot, great timing, beautiful wall cloud, beastly 3t22, and awesome chase. If this video gets any dislikes, including accidentals, then I have lost all hope in mankind...
@Killercore20 yeah when i lived in town they were scary to me now days without them i freak when it storms,, I live way out of town so i can't hear them i miss them i guess
@anotherlonelyheart1 They're very useful I must say, however, they do cause a scare to many people out there. I'm just that type a person that would find the sounds of sirens very calming to the point of where I could sleep to them. :)
Oh shit! These are Civil Defense Sirens aren't they? I'm surprised that they have these, I'm also surprised that the Thunderbolt 1000t is still being used.
@PipBoy1212 I believe so..I've learned so much over the last few months as to the types of sirens that are used out in tornado alley. Love all the posts here :) Thanks for watching!
Woweee...Scott...your own Tstorm here of 8/16/2000 is about as good as my own 2 real noisy Tstorms I videotaped the very same day here in southern RI....you got lotsa nice CGs and so did I.... Not sure if you ever saw my own 8/16/2000-Tstorm videos...but maybe I should post a video response of mine with yours VERY SAME DAY....BTW..exactly 10 years later to the day of our 8/16/2000-Tstorms..I met in person a first-met-via-YouTube buddy who goes by ''Videofan06''..lives in Newport RI on 8/16/10!
@nickdegunya666 Yes! lol....I didn't want folks to get caught off guard when those sirens went off. Needless to say, they were LOUD! Thanks for watching
awesome video, it reminded me of a storm I got earlier this year. everything fell apart quickly after the wallcloud had formed though. Looking around here watching videos I hadnt seen waiting on next spring to hurry up and get here haha
@Jonasdearaujo Yep! The sirens were definitely LOUD! lol. As you said though, they have to be so the town is aware of the danger. Thanks for watching!
@alfru94 Back then I was using a device called the Lightning Trigger. It was basically a modified slave trigger where it would trip the shutter of my Nikon F3 when it detected a lightning flash. Problem was it couldn't tell the difference between a flash, and a bolt. Now a days we use our digital cameras so we don't have to worry about wasting a ton of film like in the "old" days, lol
@tornadovideostock Sadly in FL, though they say we have a lot of tornadoes, I haven't seen one. Not even an EF0. The closest I've been is a dustdevil in the Outback. It was a tall one, too. Well, there dustdevils are common. Here, if there is a tornado where I live, a lot of little kids won't be happy, since it will destroy disney. I live 5 minutes from it.
@awesomelightning Oh wow, 5 minutes from Disney eh? Yeah, lol....a lot of unhappy kids for sure if one hits there! Still though, Florida does get it's fair share of tornadoes, but many of them occur at night and are rain wrapped. The statistics can definitely be deceiving!
@tornadovideostock Then I need to stay up on the months of DEC JAN FEB! O_o I still don't understand why those are the months when I seldom see a cumulus cloud, let alone a raindrop in winter?

@awesomelightning Yeah, it is technically a bit north of you guys, but some consider the central Florida area part of it too. The very southern part of "Dixie Alley"
@tornadovideostock ^.^ but I don't see any tornadoes, let alone big ones! Let alone a supercell! -_- well I hae seen a few. We mainly see either hurricanes, squalls, thunderstorms, rainstorms, electrical storms (a great number of these), and a few other types. Daily in the Summer, typically. LOOOOOOOOOTS of lightning, XD I am attempting to type without looking at the keys w/o bkspc= I love toenadoes. XD thas weird but I do better that I usuallly do!

I dunno what to call that cloud hanging over the road. Howbout RAPID ROTATION DUE EAST!!!!!! Lol. And I know first hand how much those sirens hurt. And as always these videos are awesome to say the least:-) can't wait for spring!
@stlchevy95 Thanks so much! Really happy you enjoyed the video! And yes, those sirens are loud as hell! LOL! Then again, that's how they get the word out to take cover.
