I always thought this was a CSN song...I mean the harmonies are very much like CSN. But no it isn't. My sister used to spin Buffalo Springfield records during the actual day. Lucky for all that great music.
JohnNorthWillys, wasnt carol doda in the monkees movie Head in 68? i remember after the opening scene of the four jumping off the bridge she had to kiss all four monkees and the kiss she gave davy was fucking hot i mean i bet that lucky jones was tongue wrestling that hottie pretty naughty for 68 standards
funny -i was just wondering if Stills wrote this for her, because i know they were together @ the time..but she wasn't so much 'Rock n' Roll' as she was Folk & later more Contemporary..
How its not on any of his stuff? I have decade and I thought that all his Buffalo stuff was on that. How could they leave this classic out? I always thought Steve wrote it.But...
Is this played on a belt driven turntable? Sounds like the belt is loose or going, there's a slight speed issue going on in the song. Gets faster & slower.
what they hey - with my all time favorite song I am sure watching this lp is on par with watching CSN doing it live or in a studio, who needs THAT?? (walken-ism) :)
RIGHT ON! Nice to know there are cool people with good ears still out there. I remember the era... one where there was MIND behind the music and lyrics and record companies were not looking to sign a bunch of Brittany or rap clones. Buffalo Springfield would not get signed today. Shame, really...
Nope. I remembered the club I had in mind a couple months ago. PJ Proby's. Much like Whiskey AGoGo, but down the street a bit. Small place, always a live band on stage.
Forgot to mention -- Geez, could you have cut out the record groove scratch in the beginning? I think I'll download this, clean it up, and have my son repost it if he can make it better. Wish I had a clean mp3 of it!
Great song! THIS is my all-time favorite Buffalo Springfield song, NOT For What Its Worth that everyone else digs. Great lead guitar work here, in the earliest days of overdrive.
These guys had a strange history -- April 1968 when they bumped into each other in a car jam in Hollywood, to about 1968. Too many drugs and Canadians on edge of deportation for drugs! Saw them once at a club on Sunset, not Whiskey, but the other one. Forgot the name. Pinkaboo? Portnoys? Anyone know?
To danje10, I know you asked this question 3 mos ago but the answer is 'Doug Weston's "Troubadore"'. Saw quite a few gigs there myself. My brother saw the Doors at the Whiskey.
I love this album, I wish my kids had appreciation.

Written by Stills for Judy Collins (also Suite: Judy Blue eyes)
In those days, usually the one who wrote the song sings the vocal, and that's Stills.
What a great group, and I love this song.
Their best songs were never "hits"
