some parks are privatized and they look awesome, Stossel did a piece on it. I mean just think about public toilets in a park... Compare that to privately run toilets. Now tell me who you'd prefer to run them.
@LibertarianChristian They have their advantages and disadvantages. To some extent there are many cases where privatization can be a great solution, though it seems like mostly in affluent/gentrified areas where people are more apt to care about property value, but there are other cases where it can be lame, like when dogs can't go on grass because someone stepped on poop 5 years ago. I can't help but think of some amusement parks as having poorly managed private toilets as a counterexample.
@piratetelecast You are confusing privatized parks run by corporations, with covenant controlled neighborhoods which are run like small communistic parliamentary autocracies headed by over-starbucksed liberal soccer moms. Only in places where people who know nothing about real estate and what people really value in a home and a neighborhood make rules like that. Best part about the free market? The well run corporation controlled neighborhoods will eventually drive the morons out of business.
Wut do you guys expect. its nbc. they constantly put small misleads in their shows to influence opinions. alot of people are unpolitical, never heard of libertarians. they see the show, boom, opinion formed. they've been doing it for years.
@buschleaguer1 It also an interesting coincidence that this show came out the same year as the Tea Party movement began, and his name happens to be 'Ron'.
Honestly Chuck E Cheese is a great example of a company providing a similar service to a park with higher quality than is typically delivered by government.

@kekemankek True, but not as often as non-libertarians are. :-) I mean, compare Ron Swanson with any other character on the show and he looks relatively sane and pretty competent.

I agree with most of the stuff he says, except that corporations are a fiction of the government, they wouldn't exist.
He is a great libertarian caricature... look at a duck, lol.
Its funny to see how liberals view libertarians.

@piratetelecast Some "private toilets" are foul: gas stations are another example. But almost every single "public restroom" is foul.

this isn't how Libertarians actually think. funny but not accurate.

hilarious. however, piratetelecast, a politician who talks about "privatizing government" would be a republican, not a libertarian.
