Have you seen the way pros use grenades? That takes skill and a hell of a lot of practice. Joe Blow can't just hop on Halo 3 and do that right off the bat. Timing, reflexes, reaction time, aim... all are used for grenade kills. Sounds like skill to me. Granted, there are a lot of garbage kills with grenades, but there are a lot of garbage kills with just about every weapon in Halo.
