its not shallow, you need money to eat and survive. 30 dollars a game isnt much if thats true. Plus she is now a teacher so she is passing on the passion of dancing.
First of all, I find some of these comments hilarious! I am a dancer for the NBA and it's not about the money. It's about the passion for dancing. We actually get more than $50 a game. It just depends on what team you are on. Secondly, you get paid every rehearsal and you make more money in appearances. You can make $300 on up in 2 hours in one appearance just standing there taking pics.If you truly love doing something you would do it for free! It also helps further your career!
I'm not necessarily implying that they should get a regular job, but that wouldn't be a bad idea. I'm just trying to shed some additional light onto the situation and allow people to draw their own conclusions. I would also add that becomming a Laker girl adds to a person's resume. It didn't hurt Paula Abdul when she was a cheerleader for another team. It can give a girl some notoriety, not to mention the chance of becomming part of some rich basketball stars harem. Hopefully that's not true
i audition for lakers a few yew year back and no... they only pay 30 buck per game not 50 !!! i am now a ballet and gymnastic trainer for many school in the valley and i make 140k a year thx god i didn 't join lakers !
I heard that they only get paid $50 per game. A lot of people think they get paid a lot, but so many girls want to get on the team that they don't have to pay much. It's the prestige that you were one of them. That's why the turnover is so high. Once they are on the team, that's mostly what they care about. Plus its easy to catch a rich guy who just wants to score and can brag that he dated a Laker girl to his friends. I think its sad though that they don't pay more out of respect for them.
& we actually sign contracts that dont allow us 2 even have a relationship with ball players. i really dont care i just want 2 dance!!
