when i was in Tennessee, i saw a bird of prey rescue shelter and there were bald eagles that could never be released back in the wild and that let anyone touch and tame them. also the blind owls were the sweetest things! this too!

Must be the West Coast of BC, Powell River or Sechelt, perhaps? A few comments. First, the Eagle could definitely clean the cat's clock if it so desired, but cat meat tastes so much worse than fish, it wouldn't bother.

Second, the idea of a condor carrying away a child is a myth.

Third, a Golden Eagle definitely latched onto a tiny deer and carried it down a mountain, but the deer was extremely tiny and the Eagle was flying downhill and had momentum on his side. Very rare occurrence.

@Sealy57 I doubt that eagle cares about taste. The fact is there is free fish on the menu that won't attempt to kill it while its eating. A cat regardless of an eagles strength and physical appendages, can do damage on its own that could at least cause the eagle discomfort and at worst leave open wounds for bacteria to grow in. Its a sound choice to go for the fish then. The cat is of the same mind I think.

It's about 400 or 500 pounds per square inch for that particular species. when you combine that with four inch razor sharp talons you get a lethal recipe. guys guys guys....... the only way the eagle would even TRY to eat the cat is if the cat was injured or dead. that eagle knows he will get food from the fish that they throw out, so it does not need to waste the energy of trying to chase down a cat. i would be careful of how rough the eagle is around the cat though, what could seem as playful or harmless to the eagle could mean a serious injury for the cat.
