Plextortion is supposedly voiced little darker. Super Plextortion is more versatile, the later models of the SP had the treble response increased, but they have discontinued the Super Plextortion now : (

It sounds like the amp is inside a burlap bag,,or some type of sack..try moving the mic away from the spkr to get more room ,unlike you would do in a stage setting

Ive just purchased this pedal but can't get any drive from bottom or middle position (level 1 and level 2 gain)

With gain on full,bottom position is virtually clean and middle isnt much better.Nowhere near what I would call AC/DC type crunch.There's a tiny hint of mild(and i mean mild) drive on power chords but lead still sounds virtually clean and not the level of drive in the video.Top position (distortion)sounds right.

Could my pedal be defective?

It may well be. I had a Pinnacle 2 with was a faulty component in the end. Very responsive support for Wampler products. I mailed them and was asked to return it. A new one was back to me in just over a week and I live in the UK. Impressive! :)

I agree. I just spent a while comparing the Purple Plexi 800 demo to this one and the Lovepedals distortion is completely dead in motion compared to the dancing overtones of the super plextortion.. -> I just bought the super plextortion.. Brian Wampler is a wizard!
