THat's a fantastic elk, but unfortunately it is not the norm in Idaho anymore. The deer and elk populations have been decimated by the re-introduction of wolves. I have hunted ID for 2 weeks every year for the last 10 years and the difference today between even 3-4 years ago is just so sad. They need to manage their damn wolves better. Its ridiculous. On top of that the cost of a non-resident license is so high now its not even worth coming.
Idaho has so many tall trees and very steep mountains it makes it very hard to shoot almost anything but the elk deer turkey moose hear are all huge and plentiful you just have to know how to hunt it.

I got my first elk this year with my recurve, just outside of coeur d alene idaho. I love living here except for all the californians. Great bull!!
