Mike Tyson used to do this stuff and he because of that was a good punch taker! Because if you got a strong neck you can absorb better the punches trown at your head!
@AlvimIzN4sty I presume that's a typo: 'even't'. Don't worry we do them all the time :). It's a good point but size or muscularity doesn't always equal strength, But we have just received to new photos of danny prior to his last pro boxing bout where he had to lose 2 stone (28lbs for you yanks!) in 4 weeks in the bout. I will post them online for you and you can see his neck on those videos
I was started this exercise few weeks ago after looking at Mike Tyson's exercise. Yes it gives pain in the skull. And I can't do it without soft place. Like mattress or cushion etc. Is it normal? Or we can do it on hard place?
@ooops1234 Yes it is normal if you are doing it on a hard surface. The area where this video is filmed is a matted area for BJJ. Use a padded but firm surface .
@Freestyleartclub Hard one to answer as it depends on the individual. Also neck training doesn't always result on big fat neck muscles. Size doesn't equal strength. That being said you should notice a difference after a month if you do this once to twice a week
@MrBigdicklou it is Normal To get Headache cuz ur rolling you head Over the floor with your weight lol ..me and my partners (gym partners) all of us suffers from headache so its normal soon you'll get used to it.
If you get tired, than you cannot find the strenght to do it "properly" so there goes a neck injury. This video should not be promoted, dumb asses!!!!
@rliriano31 you could say this about any form of exercise. If you are tired and do not have the strength to bench press properly you could injure your back, neck, chest or shoulder. If you go for a run and you are tired and do not have the strength to lift your feet properly you could injure your feet, ankles, knees, hips or back. I am assuming from your statement that you believe no form of exercise or activity should be promoted because if you are tired you could injure yourself.
@oneloveyalls You can do the first 2 exercises with your knees on the ground or with your hands for support to reduce the intensity. We will making a basic neck exercise video next week so keep an eye out for that
@oneloveyalls the surface Danny is using is a padded BJJ matts which provide a level of padding. If your head still hurts try using more basic exercises for a while to build up core strength
@GSlate614 LOL. When I do it I almost have a straight back. I trained my neck in a small gym a while ago. A woman said that I can seriously injure my neck by doing that. She asked if I train Ice hockey or something like that. I said that I train boxing, karate and MMA.

@83Mysterio The lady was right you can seriously injure you neck if you don't do it right. You've got to build neck strength up gradually.
