  • What are the pros and cons of this jab defense versus the conventional parry/bat with right hand?

  • looks like Keysi Fighting Method

  • @vjm007

Looks like it but works much much better. As a bonus it doesn't leave your body exposed.

  • does this thing do full contact sparring?

  • @73truthseeker you dont get knock out when u roll with punches. that is for sure. this guy is majorly confused.

  • when some one blocks like that u just unload on them and you will get through to them. whou is this dude? this is just some mad up bull.

  • Did a New York street fighting style called 52 Blocks have some influence here? They use a similar style of blocking.

    Look up this clip:

    Brooklyn Brings it! THE BARBERSHOP

  • Guys wearing shorts with eyes on their asscheeks..... seems kinda homo.

  • I like CMD's stance. In fact, I love it. I've even tried it in boxing sparring. but what I don't get is that while in another video (Myth of the Body Shot) Rodney places his elbows close to his body, effectively protecting him from body shots, in many others it's actually floating pretty high, exposing his abs.

  • With no gloves this is devastating against the more fragile bones on the other fighters hands. Gloves on, be careful cause' this defense can leave you fairly stationary (hard to know which side-step/turn to use if your vision is blocked) leaving an opening for your opponent to make you off balanced or allow them to close the distance if abused.

  • @EbonZEN I agree. I like crazy monkey but think it works a lot better in MMA or self defense than in boxing. It's gd for stopping u getting hit while u close the distance then clinch in MMA or u wud most likely head butt and/or knee to the groin in a self defense situation. It's simple and easy to learn, don't need to spend too much time on it, worth learning.

  • Legal ? Na.... u get arrested if you try this

  • @Jacobhoward56 Hahahahahaha....

  • What is the Philly Shelf?

  • @0713mas It's where (if you're left handed/orthodox stance) your left forearm is across your stomach, your body turned almost all the way to the right, and your right arm is in front of you, your palm protecting your face. Floyd Mayweather uses it a lot. There's a youtube vid where he explains it to an interviewer. It's called the Philly shell.

  • In a real knife defense situation your going to get cut anyway. realistically knife attacks usualy you never see the knife! Check out S.T.A.B. Defense or S.P.E.A.R. Systems.

  • In a streetfight if the guy has a punch knife and you use this defense, he is going to destroy your arms

  • Gardash111,

You should train a bunch of fighters, post some YouTube videos to promote your self defense system, open some schools write a few books. If it's more functional than CMD I will buy all your DVDs and become your biggest fan!!!

  • the head move is a good natural alternative too if you didnt have the time with your hands, but after the fight's over you feel it for a few days and your scalp might require some stitching...but thats better from having your chin broken in 5 places or your nose turned into mush or something LOL

  • those moves work on a real street unarmed situation(if the guy is armed with a knife especially a knife its always a good idea to start running)not only can this be used as a defensive move but as an offencive too, active defence(offensive defense)brake the other guy's fingers with your elbow usually the middle and ring finger...straight blast kick to the knee joint or rising kick to the groin preferably with your shin and you're good to go BOOM BOOM only the simple and natural intuitivestuffwork

  • @dpapaioannow It's stupid because it leaves your body wide open and it makes it impossible to counter.

  • @prooc no its not you are

  • @prooc the body isn't left open, if a shot comes into the body then you drop your body with it or move your waist to compensate when you take a shot, and as for countering its alot easier to counter using this defense in mma, but in boxing it allows you to shift there body weight towards you if thats what your after so you can go under for a body shot or move their arm out to open them up for a counter

  • is this legal in boxing? or just MMA

  • yeah its legal

  • Nice job, used this with a boxer & he may have hit me 2 out of 90 punchs.

And I was using only defence!

  • @jesuskopp That's because you can't do shit with this defence. Crazy Monkey Boxing was only invented for people who aren't able to fight properly. Just take regular boxing/MT/or Krav Maga lessons.

  • That's how Rampage Jackson works his defense. You can see him use it in his last fights with Wanderlei Silva and Chuck liddell right before he counters with a KO punch.

  • @decolonizationday Yes this is a excellent defence for MMA. In Boxing I prefer the philly shell though..

  • Nice work. Very practical.

  • you can also try to parry it if youre not afraid to get hit

  • what is the boxer wearing as shorts

  • your mothers knickers

  • badboy MMA shorts

  • Grappling shorts, I think the brand is "Badboy"
