Hi I'm a student currently studying Animation at university, I have a few short animations that I have created and would extremely appreciate if anyone would take a minute view them :)
Please subscribe as I will be adding more animations as they are done.
Give some constructive comments and let me know what you think.
ah i dint relieze how important making sure everything is centred. i rotated it slightly at one point and when i came to duplicate it i was like urge me gawee im stupid.. and started back several steps. anyways great videos these are very helpful for newer more artistic students which look at natural form more organically and not box shapes.
This is a very interesting way to look at tackling a model. I've watched these since part one and have to say that the video's have been extremely helpful so far.
So, is there almost no difference between the append polygon tool and the bridge tool? I've tried to practice in maya and found the bridge tool to be a bit fusy but the append tool seems to get the job done much better.
please please please can you post some tutorials on texturing the form? I am doing 3D Design Dissertation and need to make a 3D avatar in maya (needs to be as lifelike as possible) and your tutorials are the best on here!!!pleaaassseee
But yea, now I know what the deal is with the Bowtie crap I get when I append polygons. Those pesky normals. Thanks mater! I'm gonna watch the rest of this.

This looks painful, no wonder games take 3-5 years to make. This model would take me 5 years to build just one.

How did you add edge loops to two different edges in 6:02?

This is great. I'm actually modeling my face using the methods you're showing to make a torso.

always helpful to freeze and reset to let maya "forget" the previous position, and default out the current value.

Wow, I've never seen it done like this! Have to say, it seems a lot faster/easier. Why do you freeze and then reset the transformation, though?

You can get the mirror effect by choosing edit-duplicate special. Set geo type to instance ans scale to -1 on the x axis.

This is an interesting style of character modeling. I'm definitely going to try it out. Thanks.
Just one question though if you don't mind. How do you manipulate one side of the model and have it mirror on the other side?
