@DVCWA You probably have your canvas in cm instead of px/pixels. Create a new one and where you enter the dimensions make sure the dropdown box says pixels :)

I I have watched so many so called "tutorials" on youtube about photoshop, and most of them are poorly done for teaching because they must assume that the viewer knows alot about photoshop to begin with, or they go to fast, or they do things and dont explain what they just did. I found your tutorial just what I needed!!! covering the basics from a beginners view, Thanks Joecox406, now I can get something done on photoshop! Yes!!

RGB additive, CMYK is considered subtractive. so in RGB you mix red, green and yellow to make white the same way your computer monitor does. in CMYK you mix cyan magenta yellow and black the same way a printer mixes ink. RGB typically will look better and closer to what you want on a computer screen or projector, CMYK typically looks closer to what you intend when things are printed off.

@clairereinecke This is a 'beginners' tutorial and it's only part 1, there are currently 4 parts and the series does plan to continue and it'll get more advanced throughout.
